In this work, we propose a novel real-time method for precise measurement of sidewalk joint deflections utilizing stereo vision and deep learning. This method is designed to address key challenges in infrastructure management within the context of smart cities. Our approach leverages stereo vision to establish a highly accurate Pixel-to-Meter ratio, enabling the precise conversion of image data into real-world distances. This allows for precise measurement of joint deflections by capturing depth information between adjacent sidewalk slabs. We then integrate instance segmentation, which enables the precise identification of individual sidewalk slabs, facilitating the accurate detection of joint deflections between these sections. Together, these techniques provide a robust method for detecting and measuring sidewalk joint deflections with high precision. Our results demonstrate the potential of our method for large-scale deployment in smart cities, with future work focused on integrating the system into predictive maintenance frameworks and expanding its application across diverse urban settings.

With the continuous increase of functions of the software system, a highly trustworthy software system can help users solve problems in daily life better. How to evaluate a software system's trustworthiness has become an important problem in software engineering. Based on subjective and objective weights, this paper proposes a method to calculate the trustworthiness of components. Firstly, based on spherical fuzzy sets, expert weights are determined by expert similarity, and the subjective weights of component attributes are obtained by combining expert weights with the evaluation of component attributes by experts. Secondly, the initial variance of component attributes is improved, and the objective weight of component attributes is calculated by using the improved variance method. Furthermore, combining the subjective and objective weights, the component attribute weight distribution method is proposed, and then the component trustworthiness measurement model is established. Finally, the component’s trustworthiness in the cross-border medical management system project is evaluated to show the rationality of the measurement model.

Inter-facility transport is often necessary for patients requiring specialized medical care. In the case of neonatal patients, specialized transport systems are used to ensure continuous care during transport. Concerns relating to physical stressors to which the patients are exposed during transport has motivated our ongoing study on evaluating and mitigating vibration and acoustic noise in these systems. Regardless of the various testing configurations, whether they be full-scale vehicle tests or laboratory shaker tests, reliable and consistent data collection practices are desired. An instrumentation package, designed to measure noise and vibration of the transport system, is currently in development to ultimately improve the safety of patients during transport. This system is intended to promote standard data collection practices and ultimately the aggregation of findings from independent studies into a single database. Requirements for the system have been defined, and early stages of sensor selection and prototyping are underway. The current configuration of sensors can successfully collect acceleration, angular rate, and sound level data. Additional sensors can be integrated into the system, to allow for multiple locations of interest to be studied simultaneously. Future work will improve the efficiency of the data collection script, the automation of data processing, and the physical implementation of the system. © 2023 IEEE.

The loss of mobility due to amputation or severe damage to the ankle joint can significantly reduce a person's quality of life. The ankle joint and foot play a key role in maintaining balance, movement, and weight support, making the development of prostheses that restore these functions a critical task in biomedical engineering. This article examines the main design and operational requirements for ankle joint prostheses. It begins by analyzing the anatomical and biomechanical characteristics of the joint, followed by a discussion of conditions that necessitate prosthetic replacement, including traumatic injuries, vascular diseases, and degenerative joint changes. An overview of existing solutions, their limitations, and an analysis of current technological innovations are provided. The article justifies the need for the development of prostheses with optimized weight and mechanical parameters, capable of energy transmission and reproducing natural movements to enhance mobility and user independence.

Data link is a communication and command system that transmits and distributes formatted messages, which can connect the originally independent combat platforms with each other. The high reliability service provided by the high availability helicopter data link is the guarantee of the combat command, so it is an urgent need to evaluate the availability of the helicopter data link system. Based on the availability theory and Link-16 data link technology, this paper presents a Markov steady-state availability model for evaluating the availability of data link systems. The experimental results show that the steady-state availability model and service availability model of the proposed data link system have certain credibility and correctness. This provides an operational method for the usability evaluation of data link network system, and has a certain reference value. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper considers methods of increasing the Resilience of the network of synchronization systems, which ensures the improvement of the reliability of digital telecommunication and electric power networks under martial law. The paper considers the issues of redundancy of signals of synchronization reference sources, transmission of signals by digital telecommunications, and multichannel monitoring of synchronization signals. The results of measurements on existing mobile communication networks are presented.

The article examines contemporary cyber challenges in organizations. THETA is a model checking framework based on abstraction refinement algorithms. In SV-COMP 2022, we introduce: 1) reasoning at the source-level via a direct translation from C programs;2) support for concurrent programs with interleaving semantics;3) mitigation for non-progressing refinement loops;4) support for SMT-LIB-compliant solvers. We combine all of the aforementioned techniques into a portfolio with dynamic algorithm selection.

V2X communication improves safety and information sharing among vehicles and other stakeholders in traffic. The information shared between connected cars enables the development of numerous applications. Application of technologies to the real world is not possible without comprehensive testing. Many testing methodologies exist to verify and validate developed technologies. Each of these methodologies has trade-offs in terms of realism, cost, repeatability, reliability, and time criteria. With the aim of optimizing this trade-off, we have developed a human-in-the-loop test platform where application tests of connected cars can be conducted. This platform enables multiple users to drive their own virtual vehicles through keyboard and test V2X applications. To demonstrate the performance of our test platform, internal delay measurements were conducted. The measurements revealed negligible delays. Additionally, to showcase the feasibility of application testing on our platform, a simple LCRW application was implemented. The application test demonstrated that the developed algorithm responded as expected, providing the necessary warnings to the user regarding collision risks. © 2023 IEEE.
