[Context/Motivation] Crowd-based Requirements engineering (CrowdRE) promises to overcome limitations of traditional requirements engineering by actively involving a larger number of users. A common theme in CrowdRE research is the development and deployment of online platforms where users can autonomously provide their feedback about software. [Problems] Current platforms only provide minimal guidance regarding the topics mentioned in the feedback. Therefore, it is difficult tomap the feedback to existing requirements and identify gaps. [Principal ideas] To address the problems, we present a systematic process for collecting feedback through a variety of structured questions and an online platform which supports the process. We evaluate the process and the platform in the large-scale interdisciplinary research project SMART-AGE. [Contribution] To our best knowledge, this is the first platform that gathers feedback from a large number of users simultaneously through structured queries. Our contributions include a tailored list of questions for feedback collection, an analysis of how the question characteristics influence the answers and an evaluation of the user acceptance. Our findings indicate that both the quality and quantity of feedback are high, with variations based on the characteristics of the questions. Additionally, our platform is well accepted by its users.

Over the past several years we have investigated two problems related to the domain of highly distributed, mobile, resource constrained, embedded, and pervasive environments: software deployment and quality of service (QoS). We have done so with the explicit focus on the role played by software architecture in deployment, and on its relationship to QoS. In the process, we have amassed a body of knowledge and experience, and assembled a suite of solutions for targeting different facets of the interplay among software architecture, deployment, and QoS. At the same time, the area we are addressing has proven to be multi-faceted and very complex, constantly presenting new challenges. In this paper we outline the contours of the problem of QoS in architecture-based deployment, our strategy for addressing it, and the challenges that remain. The technology of topic tracking can help people find what they are interested from the vast information sea. Since topics develop dynamically, topic excursion problem may appear in the tracking process. To overcome this problem and the shortcomings of current adaptive methods, we propose a new adaptive method for topic tracking, We call it time adaptive boosting (TAB) model. This model adopts the idea of boosting and presents new algorithm to the adaptive learning mechanism in the task of topic tracking. This algorithm can solve the problem of topic excursion, and remedy the deficiency of current adaptive methods. Time sequence of topic tracking task is also considered in the algorithm. We use sigmoid function to express it. In experiments we use the Chinese part in TDT4 corpus as test corpus, and use the TDT2004 evaluation metric to evaluate the adaptive Chinese topic tracking system based on TAB. Experimental results show that the adaptive method based on TAB can improve the performance of topic tracking.

engineering design is an iterative process that supports the solution of problems by applying scientific knowledge to make informed decisions. Assessing different levels of expertise in experimentation is a difficult task since these are not usually visible as part of a student's final design solution. The purpose of this research is to investigate and characterize students' experimentation strategies while working on a design challenge. We conducted a concurrent think-aloud to capture students' thinking while they were working on a design challenge using an educational computer-aided design (CAD) software. We showed how the design replays generated from the log files collected from the CAD software can be used to represent students' experimentation strategies and how these representations can be validated by the data collected from the think-aloud. Our preliminary results show that technology-based assessment by the educational CAD tool allows us to identify the differences between different experimentation strategies and that the result of this assessment is supported by the result obtained from the concurrent think-aloud. Implications of this work would be relevant to engineering educators and researchers who are interested in understanding and assessing students' experimentation strategies in engineering design.

The system dedicated to optimization of the manufacturing processes, used in metal forming branches, is presented in the paper. The proposed approach is based on the conventional optimization methods supported by Good Practice Guides (GPG), which represent rich engineeringknowledge and are usually applied in industrial practice. Each step of optimization algorithm includes numerical simulations of analyzed manufacturing process, while the goal function is calculated regarding the 'in use' material properties allowing to minimize the number of expensive, time consuming industrial tests. It also leads to the higher efficiency of the production chain under consideration. These features result in the system which is flexible enough to face the challenges of the market and rapid development of customers requirements. Moreover, this combination guarantees that the whole presented solution is innovative and unique in the field of manufacturing support Application of the developed software to optimize the flat rolling process with respect to uniformity of final material properties was selected as all example. Context: The quality of software systems has always been a crucial task and has led to the establishment of various reputable software quality models. However, the automation trends in softwareengineering have challenged the traditional notion of quality assurance, motivating the development of a new paradigm with advanced AI-based quality standards. Objective: The goal of this paper is to bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical implementations on the aspects of software quality. Methodology: This study involved an extensive literature review of software quality models, including McCall, Boehm, Dromey, FURPS, and ISO/IEC 25010. The detailed information about quality attributes from each model was systematically synthesized and organized into datasets, data frames, and Python dictionaries. The resulting resources were then shared and made accessible through a public GitHub repository. Results: In brief, this research provides (i) a comprehensive dataset on software quality containing catalogs of quality models and attributes, (ii) a Python dictionary encapsulating the quality models and their associated characteristics for convenient empirical experimentation, (iii) the application of advanced knowledge graph techniques for the analysis and visualization of software quality parameters, and (iv) the complete construction steps and resources for download, ensuring easy integration and accessibility. Conclusion: This study builds a foundational step towards the standardization of automating software quality modeling to enhance not just quality but also efficiency for software development. For our future work, there will be a concentration on the practical utilization of the dataset in real-world software development contexts.
