Dating and traditional matchmaking practices have now been replaced by the transient and evolving landscape of online dating. Applications such as Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder strive to outdo each other in introducing features and design elements to cater to user needs. However, the utilisation of these apps differs significantly from how individuals engage with other interpersonal computer-mediated interactions, such as social media platforms. Through this study, we set to understand the practices and perceptions of university-going students regarding online dating platforms and how they can be used to model effective interactions. The user study employs a mixed-method approach, including an online survey with 72 respondents and 11 semi-structured interviews. The paper also encompasses a competitive study where the researchers compared existing dating platforms based on a set of parameters.

An integrated system that provides automated lecture style evaluation, allowing teachers to get instant feedback related to the goodness of their lecturing style is presented. The proposed system aims to promote quality improvement of lecture delivery, that could upgrade the overall learning experience of students. The proposed application focuses on specific measurable biometric characteristics, such as facial expressions, body activity, speech rate and intonation, hand movement and facial pose, extracted through video and audio. Measurable biometric features extracted during a lecture are combined to provide teachers with a score reflecting lecture style quality both at frame rate and by providing quality metrics for the whole lecture. A pilot evaluation of the application was conducted with chief education officers, educators and students to obtain feedback on the proposed application. Initial results indicate that the proposed teacher evaluation system is innovative, and it has the potential to become an invaluable tool for educators who wish to maximize the impact of their lectures.

Teaching popular science in primary school science courses has gained significant attention due to the national strategy for promoting science and education. 12.5% of the sixth-grade science curriculum is focused on astronomical content, but the scope and format of astronomical popular science in primary school curricula are relatively limited. After conducting an investigation, it has been found that there are fewexisting extracurricular astronomical popular science teaching methods. The issues with existing methods include low alignment with textbook content, lack of systematic teaching, limited interactivity, and difficulties in stimulating students' initiative. Fun-based teaching using virtual reality technology is an emerging teaching method with unique interactivity and experience. It allows students to immerse themselves in interactive environments and have a rich learning experience. This study aims to offer students practical hands-on opportunities by designing challenging tasks and activities. This approach deepens students' understanding and application of knowledge. Virtual reality technology based on game-based learning enables students to apply scientific knowledge in simulated scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and innovative thinking. Cylindrical Algebraic Decomposition is a computer algebra tool with many applications, from robotics to biochemistry. But it can be very sensitive to the ordering of the variables, which may be partially prescribed by the problem, but generally has at least some freedom. While various algorithmic heuristics to choose the best variable order exist, we are looking at using new machine learning models to pick the variable order directly. Of those machine learning methods we have currently implemented, Feed-forward networks seem the most successful (though some others are nearly as good), and much better than a traditional hand crafted heuristic such as Brown's. We also explore an implementation of Graph Neural Networks as well as possible data pollution in current CAD datasets.
