This paper will detail the capabilities of a new geometric modeling tool, called Geodesic, which is being released in source code form to the general community. In addition to providing geometric operations to create geometry useful in MEMS simulation, it uniquely offers a fully integrated 3-D levelset kernel that permits highly accurate physically based deposition and etching simulation.

The main objective of the research described is to design optimal principle of micromirror array and its manufacturing technology with maximum penetration of the reflected/non-reflected part of micromirror array using standard, easily available and cheap technologies. ANSYS program was used for simulation of mechanical properties of designed structure. Mechanical properties of torsion springs were modelled using formulas for torsion description of silicon structure. We calculated the electrostatic force between the top (micromirror) and bottom electrodes and tried to find the compromise for the best size of micromirror, the biggest deflection angle of micromirror, and voltage between electrodes. The electrostatic micromirror was fabricated using the Multi-User MEMS Processes. The electrostatically actuated micromirror was constructed using thin surface of micromachined polysilicon film on a silicon wafer.
An important modeling consideration when assessing the performance of radar (RF) guided missile systems at low altitude over land or sea is signal multipath. In particular, for a typical missile simulation, the digita...

In this paper, a new method for an accurate and time efficient 3D simulation of ion implantation and an ultra-low energy (sub 2keV) Monte-Carlo ion implantation model are suggested. The dopant and damage profiles show very good agreement with SIMS and RBS data, respectively. The Ion Distribution Replica Method has been implemented into the model to get a computational efficient in a 3D simulation, and we have calculated the 3D Monte-Carlo simulation into the topographically complex structure.

modeling and simulation have long played a significant role in the development, testing, and evaluation of products. However, increasing computing capabilities and decreasing budgets have prompted an increased emphasis on the use of simulations to decrease time cycles, reduce risk, and lower program costs. The fundamental issue that arises in the testing and evaluation of electronic combat systems is the suitability, or utility, of the simulations for an array of typical applications. This paper describes the results of a case study in which Joint Electronic Combat test using simulation team members examined the attributes that a simulation application must possess (its utility) to perform successfully four basic test and evaluation functions-planning, prediction, evaluation, and extrapolation.

A mathematical representation of the aerodynamics for simulation of a large number of vehicles in close formation flight is presented. Aerodynamic coupling effects between the aircraft due to wake interference are included. A combination of wind tunnel results and vortex lattice analysis is used to significantly reduce the number of state variables included in the aerodynamic coupling terms. Computational results are presented for two tailless aircraft at a wide variety of relative locations.
