This paper proposed a new control approach for power quality compensation using Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC). This approach has capability of power flow control as well as power quality compensation, too. In the UPQC control, Series Active Filter (SAF) is controlled by dqo approach for voltage sag, swell, unbalance, interruption and harmonic compensation. Also, Parallel Active Filter (PAF) is controlled by composition of dqo and Fourier theories for current harmonic and reactive power compensation. These control strategies have been simulated in MATLAB software and a number of selected simulation results have been shown. The results show the validity of proposed strategy.

A transient flow model for heated oil transportation pipeline is built with application of continuity, momentum and energy conservation equations of pipe flow. The transient friction term of the model incorporates both of the steady and unsteady friction and the Brunone-Vitkovsky model is selected to compute unsteady flow friction in pipeline. The method of characteristic, finite-difference scheme and Newton-Raphson method are utilized to solve the model and the computer simulation software is developed on the base of investigation. Ultimately, the hydraulic transient behavior along a heated oil transportation pipeline in the condition of an interim pump station stoppage is simulated. The results show consider the unsteady flow friction is useful to improve the accuracy of water hammer simulation.

In order to ensure ambulance man arrived the scene on time, remove the accident , treat the injured after the accident occurred, and achieve to the minimize loss of traffic accidents and the maximum social benefits, basing on principles of reliability, this paper which started with emergency rescue system structure analyzed the structure of emergency rescue system on highway, from three ways: incident detection, rescue plan and equipment management. The paper which combines with the characteristics of emergency rescue system on highway, discussed the system reliability based on the travel time, and then established a mathematical model of the travel time reliability, at last show a model example for the travel time reliability model. The study of the paper also provided reference materials that can help resolving the issues of the reliability in the emergency relief for future highway system in the building and management studies.

Based on the fact that the fractal scaleless band and correlation dimension will gradually reach saturation and consensus along with the increase of the embedding dimension, an improved correlation dimension algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm, which is composed of complex auto-correlation method and curve-line-curve fitting method, can automate the calculation of reconstructing phase space parameters and fractal scaleless band, indeed correlation dimension of vibration signals. Case analysis results showed that the proposed algorithm can be used to calculate the correlation dimension of vibration signals automatically and accurately, without any prior knowledge of vibration signals.

In order to realize functions of teaching training and research for Steam Power Plants (SPP) simulator, the paper designed and implemented the Monitor & Control System (MCS) of the SPP simulator, and its implement based on a new type of software-GL Studio. The paper also introduced the virtual MCS technology based on GL Studio and the real-time communication between simulation models and the virtual MCS. Finally, the virtual MCS and simulation models of SPP were tested. The results showed that the virtual MCS based on GL Studio development was high fidelity and facilitate the upgrading, the virtual MCS can be used for teaching training and scientific research.

In view of the difficult interoperations, information sharing and barely reused among existing power quality software and systems, this paper presents a power quality aided service platform which by using multi-agent technology can dynamically compose basic web services to implement advanced power quality aided service functions and meet the rapidly changing business demands flexibly. The aid service functions like power quality monitoring data management, harmonic analysis, evaluating the effect of disturbance loads and design and check the parameters of filter and SVC systems are implemented on the platform. Now our platform is running in Sichuan Electric Power Research Institute in China and conclusion can be made that the proposed architecture is feasible.
