In order to realize functions of teaching training and research for Steam Power Plants (SPP) simulator, the paper designed and implemented the Monitor & Control System (MCS) of the SPP simulator, and its implement based on a new type of software-GL Studio. The paper also introduced the virtual MCS technology based on GL Studio and the real-time communication between simulation models and the virtual MCS. Finally, the virtual MCS and simulation models of SPP were tested. The results showed that the virtual MCS based on GL Studio development was high fidelity and facilitate the upgrading, the virtual MCS can be used for teaching training and scientific research.

After launching of TerraSAR-X, space-borne SAR image with high spatial resolution of 1-2 meter is considered as one of important data source for modelling and monitoring of urban areas. The buildings in urban regions are important infrastructures to characterize SAR backscatter and interferometric phase in SAR interferometry. The shadow and layover are more prominent in urban areas due to building structure (Figure 1). The InSAR phase in layover regions at buildings shows the typical shape referred as "front-proch" shape (Burkhart, 1996). After detecting some of meaningful phase signal related with building height in layover regions, interferometric phase analysis at building location was investigated by Thiele et al. (2007a and 2007b). To increase our understanding on interferometric phase of building structure we used seven spotlight mode TerraSAR-X SAR data and LIDAR DSM over Daejeon city. Using LIDAR DSM and TerraSAR-X sensor parameters including satellite positions, range/azimuth resolution, sensor's wavelength, etc., interferometric phase and amplitude image were simulated from the new algorithm for high resolution DSM and SAR system proposed by Kim and Yoon (2010) as well as conventional software of GAMMA. For change detection, phase profile signal constructed from LIDAR DSM was subtracted from real interferometric phase in TerraSAR-X interferogram (Figure 2). The performance comparison in terms of the accuracy of change detection in urban area will be addressed through the analysis of the TerraSAR-Xs differential interferograms. © 2011 KIEES.

The mass imbalance often cause the vibration of high-speed rotation machinery in actual use. And it's the most common cause of the malfunction. Based on the theory of rotor dynamics, we can diagnose the failure and its causes more accurately by applying the software to doing simulation analysis of characteristics of rotor dynamic. Moreover, it provides reliable basis for the further solutions to the failures. This paper analyses a corporation's compressor with abnormal vibration which does not work well in the process of operation, and find out the reasons for its vibration. According to the calculated results, the local structures of its rotor are transformed. After transformation, the compressor runs smoothly after being transformed. The vibration caused by imbalance of rotating mass is improved and eliminated basically.

Training applied talent is the goal of current college. Several common experimental teaching methods, such as 1 X N Class - Team Teaching Model, N X N Class-Team Teaching Model, N X N Teacher-Team Teaching Model, are analyzed and compared. These experimental teaching methods have some disadvantages, which are that the ratio of teacher-student is small, or teacher professional expertise is not conducive to student's comprehensive knowledge. A new experimental practice teaching model is given, which is Double Teams Model of Teachers and Students (DTMTS) experimental practice teaching model. This model can be used in course practice training, students' research training and academic competition training. The implementation process of this model are teachers team building, students team building, to carry out experimental method of teaching practice, experimental practice teaching organization, the team teaching process management, strengthen the hardware platform construction of experimental practice. Its implementation can improve student's participation in practice and innovation ability.

Executable and Translatable UML enables Model-Driven Architecture by specifying Platform-Independent Models that can be automatically transformed into Platform-Specific Models through model compilation. Previous research shows that the transformations result in both efficient code and consistency between the models. However, there are neither results for the effort of introducing the technology in a new context nor on the level of expertise needed for designing the Platform-Independent Models. We wanted to know if teams of novice software developers could design Executable and Translatable UML models without prior experiences of software modelling. As part of a new university course we conducted an exploratory case study with two data collections over two years. Bachelor students were given the task to design a hotel reservation system and the necessary test cases for verifying the functionality and structure of the models within 300 hours, using Executable and Translatable UML. In total, 43 out of 50 teams succeeded in delivering verified and consistent models within the time frame. During the second data collection the students were given limited tool training. This gave a raise in the quality of the models. Due to the executable feature of the models the students were given constant feedback on their design until the models behaved as expected, with the required level of detail and structure. Our results show that using Executable and Translatable UML does not require more expertise than a bachelor program in computer science. All in all, Executable and Translatable UML could play an important role in future software development.

Virtualization technology has revolted the computer technology. In the paper, we present our virtual computer cluster. The components of computer cluster have been improved by virtualization technology from the actual computer server to virtual server instance. Virtual computer cluster includes front-end machine and the cluster nodes. The front-end machine can be physical machines or virtual machines;the cluster node can also be virtual or physical machine node. The front-end machine of the cluster communicates with the cluster nodes through physical or virtual network adapter. The front-end machine connects with the cluster management software in each node so as to monitor and control every physical or virtual node within the cluster. A single virtual computer cluster extends its resources with adding physical or virtual resources including computing resources, storage resources and etc. within secure and stabile occasions with special needs. The technology can be widely applied to cluster and parallel computing demand but with lower-cost system design scenarios.

The success of any projects can be affected by requirements changes. We define requirements elicitation as the activity of adding, deleting, and modifying requirements. We here refer to the completion of requirements elicitation of a software component as requirements maturation. The requirements of the component will never be changed after 100% maturation. We introduce the requirements maturation efficiency (RME) in order to estimate the requirements maturation period for the component. The RME of the requirements represents how quickly the requirements of a component reach 100% maturation. The goal of this paper is to define a method of estimating the RME of each component. Since requirements analysts (RAs) elicit requirements by accessing requirement sources and stability is one of the characteristics of requirements, we can assume that the RME of a component must be derived from the accessibility of the requirements source and the stability of the requirements. We model accessibility as the number of information flows from the source of the requirements to the RA and model stability with the requirements maturation index (RMI). The results from multiple regression analysis for two cases indicate that RME can be derived by these two factors with a significant level of 5%. We also discuss a method by which to estimate the period for requirements maturation.

Cloud computing, which has recently attracted more and more attention, fully embodies the ideas of “pooling distributed resources for using together,” and “concentrate resources for distributed service”. Based on Cloud Computing technology and combined with East China Power Dispatching Center dispatching architecture's actual situation, this paper proposed the concept of Cloud dispatching-a kind of Cloud Computing-based overall framework of intelligent dispatching center, which can meet integration of the existing resources demands among various dispatching center, reduce the investment of system construction and expansion and further improve overall dispatching business ability. And then, a layered architecture of Cloud dispatching is given. Finally, a typical application case of cloud-dispatching - based cloud platform Cloud Prototype design was presented.

This paper presents a steady-state simulation study of oxy-fuel gas cycle power plant with CO 2 amine absorption process using process software Aspen HYSYS™. The oxy-fuel gas cycle power plant studied was decomposed to four units: the air separation unit (ASU), the gas turbine cycle, the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and the CO 2 capture process. Based on the steady-state simulations, the energy performance of the process investigated under different operating conditions. An optimal net efficiency was obtained at about 60% oxygen purity under 90% CO 2 recovery rate and 0.3 CO 2 lean loading in the CO 2 amine absorption. The CO 2 capture process mainly affects net efficiency of power plant in low oxygen purity, and the power requirement of ASU is main factor in high oxygen purity.
