By employing several leading technologies, such as the interest degree, interest node, interest association rules and the knowledge base of interest association rules, this paper has designed a simple and easy realization algorithm about the measurement of the user interest. Thales Alenia Space have strongly pursued COSMO-SkyMed System image quality and processing tuning by developing, in parallel to the nominal program activities, all SAR image engineering processors from RAW data up to level 1D. Since summer 2006 all existing processors developed in the frame of X-SAR MPOS, X-SAR/STRM and Envisat-1 ASAR program frames have been re-adapted and extended to the need of COSMO-SkyMed SAR operational and support modes. Born with the only aim to have engineering tools capable to achieve a better understanding of the true SAR payload in-flight behaviour, such software have allowed the identification and subsequent solution of a variety of issues concerning both data and physical phenomena related especially to high resolution through active antenna arrays. This paper describes some relevant data characteristics and algorithm optimizations defined not only to meet required image quality performance in each instrument operative mode (achieved within four months since PFM launch) but to get over toward the performance frontier especially in the field of high resolution imaging where no satellite experience was available in Europe. This has been achieved thanks to the integration into a single software suite of all the instrument design and mission knowledge together with all algorithms necessary to handle COSMO-SkyMed radar data according the fundamental burst organization approach. A highly sophisticated processor suite has been finally accomplished to fully support next generation systems in terms of performance, stateof-the-art focusing algorithms, code modularity and functional expandability.

This paper presents a feasibility study of photovoltaic (PV), wind, biomass and battery storage based hybrid renewable energy (HRE) system providing electricity to residential area in Australia. The system with load of 200 kWh · day -1 is analyzed through the environmental and economic aspects. The study computes the net present cost (NPC, $), cost of energy (COE, $ · KWh -1 ) and the emissions (kg · year -1 ) of greenhouse gas (GHG) of the HRE system running under the specific renewable energy resource mentioned above. The monthly daily mean global solar irradiance and wind speed data of the capitals of the seven regions of the six states and various territories of Australia (Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales) are generated by the RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis software produced by Natural Resources Canada. The long-term continuous implementation of the system is simulated. The software HOMER produced by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory is used as a simulating tool. Their cost and emissions are compared with each other among the systems. It is found that an off-grid PV-wind-biomass HRE system is an effective way of emissions reduction and it does not increase the investment of the energy system.

The three-dimensional turbulent flow in a supercritical pump with complex double-cases based on the integral model combined with the pass-by pipes is computed and simulated by means of a parallel computer and the software FLUENT using the mathematical models (Navier-Stokes equations, RNG k-ε turbulence model and boundary conditions) in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), which aims at improving the pump's performance. Meanwhile, the supercritical pump's efficiency correction is emphasized according to the leakages at wear rings of impellers and at the radial clearances between pump stages; the pump's hydraulic design and improvement are briefly introduced; the effects of grid number and pass-by pipes on the computational accuracy are discussed, and the flow fields in the internal complex passages of the pump are also represented. The hydro-dynamically numerical computational results and operation testing ones of the pump, which is modified from the original one based on the primary simulation results, indicate that they are in coincidence with each other well.

This paper is presenting an idea of applying the Scrum framework in the IT service support domain. Scrum framework is mainly used with conjunction of other agile methods in software development domain, but almost, no reporting for its usage in the support of that software, except in few cases. Scrum framework can be applied at small, medium, and as well as large organizations, and companies. We expect that Scrum can change the IT service support from cost center into revenue and more value added center. We also expect that Scrum framework can change some companies' profiles. The results achieved in a real life example are prosperous and fruitful, as we will present in this paper a reported real-life example of applying the Scrum framework in the IT Service Support along with the results achieved. In the case study we present here in the previous work section the framework was applied in a horizontal fashion. We will propose a vertical way of the framework application, and another new idea of dynamic Sprint planning along some of the expected results. As this idea is newly applied to that domain, so the horizontal, the vertical framework application ways, or the dynamic sprint planning idea will need more experimenting, and documenting in order to reach a solid conclusions, and results. We will recommend some of the future work that need to be done in that domain, and scope in order to document the topic more, rather than being just some self-experiences.

This paper introduces a digital home remote monitoring system based on the technology of Web, image processing, Ethernet correspondence and GPRS wireless communication, presents the structure and work principles of the system, puts emphasis on the mostly hardware and software design of the system. User can realize the online remote supervision, management and maintenance with a standard Web browser over Internet without time-space constraints and some special software. The system has cross-platform compatibility which resolves network access problem effectively making use of finite resource. Practical results demonstrate the system realizes the rapid alarm, remote monitoring function, and has the favorable stability and real time characteristic.

Even though much previous work explores varying instruction cache optimization techniques individually, little work explores the combined effects of these techniques (i.e., do they complement or obviate each other). In this paper we explore the interaction of three optimizations: loop caching, cache tuning, and code compression. Results show that loop caching increases energy savings by as much as 26% compared to cache tuning alone and reduces decompression energy by as much as 73%.

A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller for variable speed wind energy conversion system (WECS) is proposed. The proposed method, without requiring the knowledge of air density, wind speed and turbine parameters, generates at its output the optimum speed command for speed control loop of rotor flux oriented vector controlled grid side inverter control system using only the instantaneous active power as its input. The optimum speed commands which enable the WECS to track peak power points are generated in accordance with the variation of the active power output due to the change in the command speed generated by the controller. The concept is analyzed in a 2MW direct drive variable speed permanent magnet synchronous generator (D-PMSG) WECS with back-to back IGBT frequency converter. Vector control of the generator side rectifier is realized in the grid voltage vector reference frame. Confirmation of models and control schemes is performed by using the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
