As the 4G mobile communication systems require high transmission rate with reliability, the demand for efficient error correcting code increases. In this paper, a novel LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) decoding method is introduced. We address a parallel software implementation of LDPC decoding for CMMB (China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting) standard. LDPC codes for CMMB employ a regular H-matrix which has the fixed row and column weights. While effectively utilizing the regularity of the H-matrix, we process information on H-matrices for multiple code rates using OpenMP pragmas on a multi-core processor and execute the decoding algorithm in parallel using CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) on a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). We evaluated the performance of the proposed implementation with respect to two different code rates, and verified that the proposed implementation satisfies the bandwidth requirement for CMMB.

The superior ferroelectric properties of Bi 4 Ti 3 O 12 (BIT) among bismuth-layer-structured ferroelectric compounds have attracted intense interest, making these structure some of the most competitive candidates for piezoelectric devices against lead containing materials. This paper presents the utilizing of ferroelectric material on antenna application. Ferroelectric that had been used on the proposed antennas was Bismuth Titanate (BIT), suitable for access points operating in the WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g and WiMAX IEEE 802.16 within the range of 2.3 GHz to 2.5 GHz application. Bismuth Titanate (BIT), which had been tested to own a dielectric constant of ε r = 20 and is in rectangular shaped. The influence of various parameters on antenna characteristics were investigated extensively using commercial electromagnetic simulations software by Computer Simulation Technology (CST). From both simulation and measurement results, it was found that BIT used have not only improved the directive emission but also enhanced the radiation efficiency. This work also demonstrates that the dielectric medium in use was able to apply for more compact planar and array antennas.

software testing is a process or a serious of processes, designed to make sure computer code does what it was designed to do and that it doesn’t do anything unintended. software should be predictable and consistent, offering no surprise to users. The purpose of testing is to show that a program performs its intended functions correctly [1]. Outsourcing is the act of the transferring of an internal business function or functions, plus any associated assets, to an external supplier or service provider who offers a defined service for a specified period of time, at an agreed but probably qualified price. According to [2], the focus here is to tap into specialized expertise, knowledge, processes and capabilities found outside the organization and to use these as inputs to help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. More important, if done properly, strategically driven outsourcing efforts can not only help operations, but can also contribute to the strategic and competitive advantages of the organization. Hence the impact of outsourcing on software particularly software testing with the concept of smartsourcing for China outsourcing companies is new and remains uncovered at the moment. The aim of this paper is to investigate this new concept. In this study a very young with long history smart-shore vendor, Eastern Ocean Solutions （EOS） located in Donghai, Jiangsu Province, CHINA;applying Information Technology Outsourcing （ITO） is studied. This application belongs to the category of software development where testing and quality are of specific concern. The study gives a through description of the implementation of outsourcing in this work and investigates the implications of outsourcing software testing. This paper evaluates the outsourcing approach in relation to its impact on software testing. This paper presents a research agenda to firstly investigate the awareness and strategies of green operations and logistics in retail sector, and then develop a knowledge management (KM) model. Within the research, besides the understanding obtained on the drivers and barriers for retailers leading the supply chain “greening” journey, the KM model will also be developed through the application of case-based reasoning (CBR) technology, to facilitate the retailers assuming a leading role within a supply chain in their “green” initiatives and approaches, with the anticipated consequence of a greener supply chain realized by the environmental protection activities; a particular focus will also be devoted to the current economic downturn and its influence to retailers' green initiatives. The primary evaluation of the intended model' usefulness is presented in this paper as well.

The optimal source precoding matrix and relay amplifying matrix have been developed in recent works on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay communication systems assuming that the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) is available. However, in practical relay communication systems, the instantaneous CSI is unknown, and therefore, has to be estimated at the destination node. In this paper, we develop a novel channel estimation algorithm for two-hop MIMO relay systems using the parallel factor (PARAFAC) analysis. The proposed algorithm provides the destination node with full knowledge of all channel matrices involved in the communication. Compared with existing approaches, the proposed algorithm requires less number of training data blocks, and is applicable for both one-way and two-way MIMO relay systems with single or multiple relay nodes. Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the PARAFAC-based channel estimation algorithm.

Broadband analog network coding (ANC) has been recently introduced to increase the network capacity by exploiting the broadcasting nature of the wireless channel. However, channel state information (CSI) knowledge is required for self-information removal and signal detection. Recently, a pilot-assisted channel estimation (PACE) scheme has been presented for broadband ANC, where feedback of the channel estimates from the relay to the users is required. In this work, we introduce a PACE scheme without feedback from the relay for broadband ANC using orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). In the first time slot the users transmit their respective pilots to the relay and in the second time slot the relay simply amplifies and forwards the received pilot signals to both users. Each user can then estimate all the CSI it needs for self-information removal and coherent signal detection, without requiring any feedback from the relay. The bit error rate (BER) performance of broadband ANC using the proposed PACE is evaluated by computer simulation. It was shown that the proposed PACE scheme causes only a slight BER performance degradation compared to the conventional PACE scheme while eliminating the feedback channel requirement.

ENVISAT ASAR images acquired during 2003 to 2007 were processed using PSInSAR and SBAS methods for surface movement studies due to landslides. The average velocity of the movement obtained using PSInSAR method is from −12.72 to 14.59 mm/year for ascending pass and −15.8 to 17.20 mm/year for descending pass. Using SBAS method, the mean velocity obtained is −38.7 to 37.9 m/year in ascending and −6.3 to 16.4 mm/year in descending pass. The number of PS points found on SAR images with SBAS method are very much less than that of observed with PSInSAR. By overlaying the PS points on DEM, we found that highest displacement was observed at high slope areas. An analysis of the landslides using PSInSAR method along ascending and descending line of sight yielded maximum movement across the glacier area. For accurate use of PSInSAR for landslide monitoring, more images are needed.

The traditional E-learning environments have been employed often cumbersome software modules and structured around syllabuses,courses,and *** mirror images of classroom in cyber space mostly designed to fulfill the needs of the institution rather than the individual *** ultimate goal of E-learning-"empowerment"which enables learners to complete their dynamic learning processes in a personalized,social,and ubiquitous setting has not been fully *** the introduction of Web 2.0 technologies,E-learning 2.0 takes a "lightweight,loosely coupled" approach that integrates discrete but complementary widgets and web services-such as blogs,wikis,and other social software for promoting social ***,E-learning 2.0 is still suffering from untrustworthiness as being created by amateurs and way of wasting time in chat or social networking. In this paper,we describe our development of a Restful web services driven three dimensional E-learning platform REMAP with built-in mashup capability to transgress the boundaries of traditional institutions and access tools/services easily for personalized ubiquitous learning. The REMAP can not only promote learning that is more richly collaborative but also enable learners to come closer to 'anytime anyplace' learning.

Vegetation monitoring is one of the major applications of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR). In this paper, permittivity estimation method for vegetation by using multi-angle polarimetric radar is proposed. The method utilizes Brewster's angle of double-bounce scattering component. We demonstrate validity of the proposed method by indoor model experiments. We use a dihedral reflector and dipole cloud to obtain double-bounce scattering and volume scattering, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed method works properly when volume scatterer exists.

With the growing popularity of mobile technology,travel guides using smart phones have attracted much *** this study,we developed a tourist guide system for foreign visitors using smart *** materials are used as contents of the tourist guide system. Next,both questionnaire and interview surveys were conducted with the participants in a monitor *** results showed that participants' evaluations ranked them highly, and it was demonstrated that an interest in historical tourist materials influences the enjoyment of using the guide system. It is also shown that old maps,old portraits or photographs of historical people,old illustrations of buildings or streets and English translations of historical materials are very useful for foreign visitors.
