The progress of digital video processing technology and LSI technology have been the driving force behind the creation of 3D systems, and various 3D products for the home were released. 2010 became a historic year for in-home 3D. We developed a suite of system LSIs that was the key to realizing home 3D systems by applying integrated platform for digital CE, the UniPhier (Universal Platform for High-quality Image Enhancing Revolution). The system LSIs for 3D TV deliver high display speeds, and the main system LSI for 3D Blu-ray provides MPEG-4 MVC decoding. This paper describes the 3D technologies, home 3D systems and advanced system LSIs for the consumer market.

This paper proposes a novel methodology to automate the design process of patch antennas using Improved Sequential Quadratic Programming (ISQP). Patch antennas are widely used in the automotive domain and are a key enabler of car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communication. Although simulation tools have been improved in term of accuracy, a manual design process still takes a lot of time as well as computational efforts and relies to a large extent on human experience. In this paper, a fully automatic approach is presented and two major challenges are solved inherently. First, the conversion of a multiobjective problem into a single-objective problem is performed appropriately such that can be handled by classic Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP). Second, the problem of being trapped in local optima is solved by a sophisticated exploration of the search space. Compared to other automation methods, our proposed methodology is fast, produces excellent results, needs limited computational efforts, no longer requires relevant domain knowledge, and is applicable to other types of antenna design. Experimental results of a truncated patch antenna with circular polarization are presented, achieving a good design point within 1470 seconds.

In this paper, application of coordinate measuring machine(CMM) in reverse engineering(RE) of product was introduced. Reverse engineering had become a viable method to create a digital model of an existing physical part and to duplicate it. The reverse engineering process involves measuring an object, reconstructing its point cloud as a digital model and rapidly machining it. Application of obtaining point cloud using CMM was presented in reconstructing the digital model of a shoes tree. Rapid duplicate of a severely worn cam of textile machinery was realized by contact measuring profile points using CMM. Reconstructing the digital model and locally modifying the computer model in computer aided design(CAD) software. Finally, numerical control program was finished in computer aided manufacturing(CAM) software. Automatic measurement close freeform curve function of CMM decreased the workload of picking up data of cam profile. Experimental results showed using CMM can greatly save time and alleviate intension of labour.
