This paper introduces a digital home remote monitoring system based on the technology of Web, image processing, Ethernet correspondence and GPRS wireless communication, presents the structure and work principles of the system, puts emphasis on the mostly hardware and software design of the system. User can realize the online remote supervision, management and maintenance with a standard Web browser over Internet without time-space constraints and some special software. The system has crossplatform compatibility which resolves network access problem effectively making use of finite resource. Practical results demonstrate the system realizes the rapid alarm, remote monitoring function, and has the favorable stability and real time characteristic.

Aiming to the sorting and identification problem of radar emitter signals, a new algorithm of blind recognition classifier design combined grey relation with neural networks is proposed and simulations are carried to compare performance under the three classifier design method. The simulation results shows that compared with the neural networks classifier design method, the grey relation method is more simple and easy to realize. The recognition rate of the blind recognition approach is relative lower. However, it does not need advance knowledge. Therefore, the new approach has a better application value in practice.

To mobile communication requirement of portable device, a USB On-The-Go(OTG) communication system terminal, based on Freescale's 32-bit MCU – MCF52223, is designed in the paper. The system terminal can implement USB host function and USB peripheral function. The system design includes software part and hardware part. The hardware design includes power management circuit and interface circuit design. The OTG software on the IDE of Code Warrior is designed by component thinking. Firstly, we build the OTG software architecture and analyze its structural characteristics. Secondly, initialization mode judgement software, OTG drive software, host/ peripheral software packet and role switch protocol software packet also are designed on the basis of software architecture. Finally, the debugging result is shown in the paper. The result shows that the system terminal can implement not only host function but also peripheral function and has stable performance. Meanwhile, the design also provides a guide to application terminal design based on USB OTG.

We demonstrate a novel photonic transmitter-mixer (PTM) module with state-of-the-art wide optical-to-electrical (OE) (66-116 GHz), intermediate-frequency (IF) modulation bandwidths (26 GHz), and a low coupling loss (-2 dB). The full module is composed of an active near-ballistic unitraveling-carrier photodiode (NBUTC-PD) and the passive millimeter-wave components, which are fabricated on the aluminum nitride substrate with conductor on its backside for excellent thermal sinking. Compared with the control without backside conductor, our new design exhibits a significant wider IF modulation bandwidth (26 vs. 14 GHz), higher saturation current (18 vs. 14 mA), with the same O-E bandwidth (66-116, 50 GHz) and low coupling loss (-2 dB). To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest IF modulation bandwidth (26 GHz) with widest fractional O-E bandwidth (55%) among all the reported photonic transmitters.

A K-band high efficiency high output power frequency doubler in a 0.5-μm GaAs enhancement- and depletion-mode pseudomorphic high electron-mobility transistor (E/D-mode PHEMT) technology is presented in this paper. The doubler employs a configuration of a common-gate (CG) field effect transistor (FET) /common-source (CS) FET pair to enhance the second harmonic efficiently. Between 21 and 28 GHz, this doubler features a conversion gain of higher than -1.5 dB with an input power of 8 dBm. The maximum conversion gain is 1.9 dB at 26 GHz with an efficiency of up to 23.2% and a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 9.6 %. The maximum output 1-dB compression point (P 1dB ) is 10.4 dBm and the saturation output power (P sat ) is higher than 11.4 dBm at 24 GHz. The overall chip size is 1×1 mm 2 . To the best of the author's knowledge, this work demonstrates the highest efficiency with high output power among all the fully integrated doublers covering the K-band without buffer amplifiers.

Quantification of cardiac function can be performed by calculating blood volume and ejection fraction in routine clinical practice. However, these works have been performed by manual contouring requiring computational costs and varying on the observer. We present an automatic left ventricle segmentation algorithm on cardiac magnetic resonance images. K-mean clustering is applied to segment blood area on coilsensitivity corrected image. Graph searching is used to correct segmentation errors from coil distortions and noises. Using cardiac MRI from 15 subjects, the presented algorithm is performed to calculate blood volume and ejection fraction and compared with those of manual contouring by experts and GE MASS software.

This paper defines a method which uses the software complexity measurement from complex network method to allocate resources in complex software system for gray-box testing. It presents the way of mapping the software codes to complex network and some metric's effects in software network, such as degree and degree of ripple. By using these metrics, it defines the complexity measurement to complex software network. The work about C++ complex software system shows how to use this method.
