Two-way satellite time and frequency transfer is a precise time transfer method and has being used to generate the TAI since 1999. Nowadays, TWSTFT links have formed a worldwide network and the utilization of the highly redundant TWSTFT data become an important topic. In our pervious study, a feasible method has been proposed, with full time transfer network data, to improve the results of TWSTFT network. Besides, NICT has recently developed the software-defined radio based two-way time transfer modems using the dual pseudo random noise (DPN) signal. The first DPN two-way time transfer experiments, using these modems, were performed between NICT(Japan) and TL(Taiwan) from March to December 2010 and its ability in improving the time transfer precision was approved on the Japan-Taiwan baseline. In compare with the conventional NICT-TL TWSTFT link, the DPN time transfer results have higher precision and less diurnals. Since the DPN results show better performance than the conventional TWSTFT time transfer, we would adopt the DPN results for the NICT-TL link, and solve the TWSTFT+DPN network solution by using our proposed method. The numerical results about how the DPN data can benefit the performance of TWSTFT network will be illustrated in the paper.

In component-based robot software, it is crucial to monitor software faults and deal with them on time before they lead to critical failures. The main causes of software failures include limited resources, component-interoperation mismatches, and internal errors of components. Message-sniffing is one of the popular methods to monitor black-box components and handle these types of faults during runtime. However, this method normally causes some performance problems of the target software system because the fault monitoring and detection process consumes a significant amount of resources of the target system. There are three types of overheads that cause the performance degradation problems: frequent monitoring, transmission of a large amount of monitoring-data, and the processing time for fault analysis. In this paper, we propose an interaction-pattern-based approach to reduce the performance degradation caused by fault monitoring and detection in component-based service robot software. The core idea of this approach is to minimize the number of messages to monitor and analyze in detecting faults. Message exchanges are formalized as interaction patterns which are commonly observed in robot software. In addition, important messages that need to be monitored are identified in each of the interaction patterns. An automatic interaction pattern-identification method is also developed. To prove the effectiveness of our approach, we have conducted a performance simulation. We are also currently applying our approach to silver-care robot systems.

This paper develops the software subsystem of building power consumption monitoring and management system (BPCMMS), which is significant for the supervision of building energy efficiency. By monitoring and diagnosing the power consumption, the real reason of high power consumption would be found. This paper introduces the software subsystem with multi-tier distributed application services, which contains the persistence layer, the application layer, and the representation layer. According to the basic information of building and the actual monitoring data, we can thoroughly study the problems of energy efficiency for large public buildings.

IEC 61850 makes new requirements on remote control for electric power equipment. This paper proposed an environment information aware model and gives a macrostructure on the basis of middleware to facilitate new computing paradigms such as cyber-physical computing and service-oriented computing in Bulk Power System, and this desire is aiming to give suggestion on the issue of Cyber-Physical Power Grid Monitoring. We analysis the feasibility of the model in theory and test it in a case study.

Design patterns have been widely accepted as a solution for solving recurring design problems in object oriented development. Reifications of design patterns can vary from one development environment to another, and use of inappropriate reifications may impose a serious threat to quality of a software system. In this paper, we propose an approach to applying the profile mechanism in reifying a design pattern. Central to this approach are stereotypes that are defined in a profile and used to represent different roles in a design pattern. Developers can apply these stereotypes in their application model when design patterns are used. The advantage of the profile mechanism is that developers can 1) define their own reification of a pattern in a profile based on a specific software system, and 2) find errors in an application model via the conformance checking of the model against the profile. More importantly, we apply our existing tool called ICER, which is based on the profile mechanism, to provide automatic checking for the application of design patterns. To illustrate the advantage of the profile mechanism supported by ICER, we show the different reifications for the Observer pattern. Last, experimental results show that ICER does not suffer from the scalability problem as the size of an application model increases.

Service composition is an effective way to achieve value-added service, which has found wide application in various areas. Security design at architecture level is critical to achieve high assurance for these applications. However, most security design techniques for service composition were in ad hoc fashion and fell short in precise notations. This paper proposes a formal aspect-oriented approach to designing and analyzing secure service composition. The underlying formalism is Petri net and its modeling method, and focuses on the service authorization, implementation traceability, data protection and fault handling. Aspect specification provides means to observe behaviors of basic aspect schema, and to describe their interrelationship, while the weaving mechanism systematically integrates these schemas into a complete service composition model. Based on this, the security and fault recovery mechanism of service composition are analyzed, and its correctness and effectiveness are proved. A case study of Export Service demonstrates the approach can simplify the modeling process and improve the design quality.

In order to overcome fading in wireless channels and increase the performance of wireless systems, cooperation is needed between the source node and relay node. In a cooperative wireless communication system, PA (Power Allocation) and RS (Relay Selection) are important issues for improving performance of the system. In particular, PA is an effective way to save transmit power and improve the coverage and capacity of the system. Some papers analyze full CSI (Channel State Information) for obtaining optimal power allocation. However, this makes the system increasingly complex and presents a practical problem. Thus, there is a need for partial CSI to reduce the complexity. With PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), individuals referred to as particles are "flown" through hyper-dimensional search space. Changes to the position of a particle within a swarm are influenced by the knowledge of its neighbors. The PSO algorithm maintains a swarm of particles, where each particle represents a potential solution. Therefore, we propose an improved scheme for power allocation in relay-based cooperative wireless communications. For this purpose, we employ partial CSI and PSO algorithms to solve the optimization problem of power allocation with reduced system complexity as well as optimized performance.

Lifetime of multicast connection in a wireless ad-hoc network is constrained by routing topology as well as mobility, interference, noise and battery capacity. In order to optimize the multicast lifetime, a series of routing algorithms and cognitive network models with directional antennas have been proposed. However, these methods can only reach a sub-optimal level. In this paper, we propose an additional search in a specific beamwidth space. Simulation results show that the Beamwidth Scanning algorithm can pick up routing topologies which correspond to improved multicast lifetime.

Communication and security functions are considered to be the basic requirements to the electronic devices in the future power grid. Considering limited resources of the embedded field devices, developing the embedded protection devices poses a big challenge in building up the smart grid. This paper shows overhead for computing cryptographic algorithms at the device, and the performance degradation caused by incoming packet processing at embedded system devices. For this analysis we do some experiments on the operation which simulates message exchange in the SCADA system based on the IEC 61850. We also consider the security protocol for secure message exchange in the SCADA system. And then we consider the multi-core processor solution for implementing all required functions on the embedded devices as one possible approach.

This study was carried out to compare effects of glucose and EDTA in different modifications of sequential SOF media on bovine embryo *** vitro matured bovine cumulus-oocyte complexes(COC) were fertilized and then cultured in different modifications of sequential SOF as below:SOF A:Basic SOF+EDTA for 3 day,then Basic SOF+10% *** B:Basic SOF for 3 day,then Basic SOF+10% FCS+Glucose Cleavage rates were recorded on day 2 post fertilization(pi) and embryo development to the blastocyst stage were evaluated at day 7,8 *** hatching rate was recorded at day 8 and 9 *** were analyzed by means SAS software at p<*** showed that rate of cleavage were significantly higher in SOF A compare to SOF B(57.6 vs.46.1%).Rate of 5-8 cells was significantly higher in SOF A than SOF B(83.3 vs.57.5%).Rate of 8-16 cells was significantly higher in SOF A than SOF B(72.2 vs.50%).Compact-Blastocyst rate of SOF B was higher than SOF A(59.7 vs.53.7%) but no *** rate of SOF A was significantly higher than SOF B group(43 vs.10.6%) at day *** Blastocyst rate of SOF A was significantly higher than SOF B group(83.8 vs.27.2%).However,SOF A medium induced significantly better embryo development compared to SOFB *** overall results indicated that EDTA and glucose have suitable effect on vitro developmental competency of different sequential modifications of *** it seems that embryos developed in SOF A have better competency for in vitro embryo development and hatching.
