Current computing systems often employ sophisticated adaptation mechanisms that enable them to deal with overload conditions. Reduction of Quality(RoQ) attack, a novel category of attack being proposed recently, which exploits the adaptive behavior exhibited by various adaptation mechanisms, can cause different forms of damages to the victim system. For the widely used of adaptation mechanisms, RoQ attack can be a critical threat to the Internet. To better analyze the characteristics of RoQ attack and find efficient defense method, an attack modeling and system defense analysis method based on Timed Colored Petri nets(TCPN) is proposed in this paper. Most traditional network attack simulation methods although can simulate the network behavior realistically, they are not capable of simulate the complicated behavior of victim systems, hence can not be used to support the victim-side defense design efficiently. Based on the strong capacity in expression of colored petri nets, our method is more suitable for modeling dynamic behavior of complex system. With this approach, TCPN is used to describe the behavior of network normal traffic, RoQ attacker and victim system. According to the simulation analysis, we also propose an automated on-line defense scheme based on Adaptative Resource Investment. Simulation experiments show that this scheme can reduce the impact of RoQ attack on targeted system efficiently.

Aiming at the actual demand, the gas flow characteristics of butterfly vacuum control valves are investigated in this paper. Classification and characteristic of vacuum control valves are discussed in detail. The geometric and mathematic models for two kinds of butterfly vacuum control valves, with seal and without seal, are respectively built. The gas flows through the valve at different opening angles are simulated under different pressure by means of the Fluent software. The flow percentage function and adjustment sensitivity are introduced and formulated to describe the flow regulating characteristic of control valves. The flow conductance coefficient and flow loss coefficient are defined and formulated to describe the resistance characteristic of control valves. The dates and curves of some simulating examples are given and discussed.

Organizations continue to deploy enterprise systems (ESs) to improve information flow, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiencies. Realization of these benefits can be enhanced if more is known about the preceding factors that enable transformation of ES data into successful outcomes. This study identifies the critical success factors (CSFs) that influence the process for transforming ES data into knowledge, which leads to business benefits from ES implementation. A multiple case study approach is used to examine how three hi-tech manufacturing companies in New Zealand have deployed an ES and, specifically, the CSFs that contributed to business benefits. The findings emphasize that benefit realization from an ES implementation is a holistic process that not only includes the essential data and technology factors, but also includes business strategy deployment, people and process management, and skills and competency development.

In order to improve the calculation method of the vacuum system design, the research focus on the way applying the Fluent software to calculation of gas flow in vacuum system in this paper. It is proved that the permission pressure lower limit is 1Pa for meeting the continuity hypothesis. The applicable flow patterns include turbulent flow, laminar flow and transitional flow between turbulent and laminar flow, which are totally defined as the viscous flow in the traditional vacuum field. By means of user define function (UDF), a layer mesh cell of negative quality source is defined to simulate the constant volume flow rate at the inlet of positive displacement vacuum pump, which makes up for the lack of compressible fluid velocity outlet boundary conditions in Fluent. The usability of Fluent in vacuum system is confirmed by a successful calculating example of gas flow in an ice condenser of vacuum freeze dryer.

This paper introduces the working principle of space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), and presents a new circuit realization of SVPWM generator based on FPGA-embedded technique. MicroBlaze is a 32-bit high-performance processor embedding in the FPGA chip, and the left logical units can be used to design IP cores that needed, thus software and hardware can be combined to realize this SVPWM control system. The proposed SVPWM control scheme can be realized using a single FPGA chip. This scheme contains the advantages of SVPWM generator and FPGA-embedded technique, thus being important for high performance control system, and a new way for the design of high-performance motion control systems is provided.
