Cable fatigue is a common problem in power transmission and communication systems. The cables between floating structures are affected by harsh marine environments, resulting in frequent bending, stretching, and vibration of the cables, which seriously affects the fatigue level of the cables. Fatigue leads to a decrease in the mechanical strength of cables, increasing the risk of fracture and damage. This article proposes an innovative comprehensive fatigue assessment method to address the difficulty of accurately predicting the fatigue life of jumper cables using traditional methods. This method is based on the catenary theory and Coffin-Manson theory, combined with finite element analysis and material mechanics simulation, to more accurately predict the fatigue life of cables, The accuracy and effectiveness of the method were verified through cable simulation testing under different working conditions. The influence of changing cable parameters on cable fatigue life was observed through simulation testing. The results show that this method can improve the accuracy of prediction, provide strong evidence for cable design, reduce the maintenance and replacement costs of cables, and is of great significance for improving the reliability of offshore cable systems, providing useful references for the development and application of marine engineering.
