Old people and patients with limited or complete motor impairment had always face difficulty in their daily life task in which most important and frequent is eating meals, such people need assistant like nurse to feed them. In this paper we worked on an assistive feeding system based on 6 Degree of Freedom fixed base open-source robotic arm with active assistance. The manipulator is 3D printed by fused deposition modelling technique using PLA + material and a counterweight mechanism is introduced to reduce the motor torque requirements hence reducing the power consumption of the system. The system is divided into 2 sub-systems which are hybrid-vision system to get location of mouth of the person to feed and, scooping and delivery system which uses manipulator and control system to feed the food. The system is completely embedded on raspberry pi with wireless access for user and programmer. Finally, we discuss the results of our system and limitations in the methodologies used. © 2024 IEEE.

With the proposal of the dual carbon goal and the rapid development of China's photovoltaic power generation industry, the penetration rate of distributed photovoltaics in the distribution network is constantly increasing, and the safe and stable operation of the distribution network is facing huge challenges, especially the problem of voltage exceeding the limit. For this purpose, systematic research has been carried out on voltage regulation equipment for distribution networks, aiming to provide some reference for voltage regulation equipment and strategies that can be used when high proportion distributed photovoltaics are connected to distribution networks. Firstly, the types of middle note equipment in the current distribution network are analyzed. Secondly, the structure and voltage regulation principle of each voltage regulation equipment were analyzed. Once again, the voltage regulation strategies of each voltage regulation device were studied. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of each voltage regulation device were summarized, and the selection of background voltage regulation devices for high proportion distributed photovoltaic integration into the distribution network was discussed. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

To refine the accuracy of fault location in the case of single-phase ground faults in distribution networks, this research delves into the ephemeral part of the fault signal that arises from these faults, and forms a fault routing scheme based on the transient energy method and the great value detection method of wavelet transform. To enhance the distinction between the transient signatures of a faulted line and a healthy line in the aftermath of a ground fault, this study applies wavelet transform to dissect and then reassemble the zero-sequence current signals across every line, captures the high-frequency wavelet coefficients, and subsequently measures the energy across each high-frequency range and the eigenfrequency range, pinpointing the maximum energy and modal peak for every line. The detection of faulty lines is achieved by comparing the maximum energy of every line with the modal maximum to differentiate between faulty and sound lines.

As the power demands of onboard electrical equipment continue to rise, more-electric aircraft (MEA) power supply systems require an increasing number of converters to provide controlled voltage or frequency power. However, the extensive use of converters and their interaction with generators lead to instability in AC bus voltage, posing potential safety risks to aircraft. Therefore, analyzing the stability of cascaded systems consisting of generators and converters is crucial. This paper proposes a novel stability criterion based on the Gershgorin circle theorem to accurately assess the AC output voltage stability of MEA cascaded systems. Compared to the generalized Nyquist stability criterion (GNSC), the proposed method aligns more closely with the actual stability state of aircraft systems and allows for the pre-design customization of stability margins, providing valuable guidance for aircraft system design. Finally, simulations validate the advantages and accuracy of this method through comparative analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

This work focuses on analyzing different centralized task allocation methods for multiple quadruped systems. The goal is to assign tasks to agents by considering obstacles in the area in a way that minimizes power consumption, completes the mission in the shortest possible time, and maximizes task completion ratio. The power consumption and cost-of-transmission for cheetah-type quadruped are analyzed, and the power consumption is extrapolated for speeds between (0.1,0.8) m/s using the results from the literature. A∗ path planning algorithm is utilized to consider obstacles in the area. Particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithm analyzed to show that a combination of power consumption, mission completion time, and task completion ratio can result in a more efficient and effective task allocation process compared to shortest greedy distance-based allocations. The findings can contribute to the development of more advanced and autonomous systems in various fields, leading to increased productivity, accuracy, and efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a real-time prototype design and implementation of an automatic control system for the supply of electrical loads. The system utilizes a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in conjunction with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to ensure continuous power supply by dynamically switching between different sources based on priority. The prioritization scheme involves cutting off the least priority load in the absence of any one of the three power sources. The programming is accomplished through ladder logic, a graphical representation commonly used in PLCs. The communication between the PLC and SCADA is established to provide a centralized interface for fault monitoring and control. The proposed system has been physically implemented, demonstrating its effectiveness in industrial applications where uninterrupted power supply is crucial. The presented work contributes to the advancement of automation and control systems, offering a practical solution for managing and optimizing electrical loads in real-time scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Factors affecting data collection are varied, with the continuous innovation of technology, management measures continue to improve, electric power data collection is reliably guaranteed, the success rate of data collection will play a water to the effectiveness of the improvement. This article studies how to optimize the collection of electricity consumption information through intelligent scheduling systems in the electricity market environment. A collection and scheduling algorithm based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) is proposed to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of the power system by analyzing the demand and supply fluctuations in the electricity market. In the experiment, a comprehensive evaluation of the intelligent power collection and scheduling system based on DRL was conducted through three experiments, and the accuracy of the collection method based on DRL algorithm was 0.84. In the real-time response speed evaluation experiment, the average response time of the scheduling system based on DRL algorithm was 0.83 seconds. In the final experiment, the intelligent power collection system based on DRL algorithm achieved a power resource utilization efficiency of 0.87. In the above data conclusions, the intelligent power collection system based on DRL algorithm has significant advantages in accuracy, real-time performance, and efficiency improvement. © 2024 IEEE.

Solar photovoltaic modules experiencing partial shading conditions (PSCs) exhibit multiple maximum power peaks, posing a challenge for traditional and classical algorithms to accurately achieve the global maximum power point (GMPP). So, this paper introduces an enhanced model predictive control (EMPC) algorithm designed to precisely optimize the output power of the PV system under PSCs and load variations. The key contributions of the proposed EMPC algorithm include the ability to swiftly track the GMPP efficiently under sudden or gradual cloudy profiles and different load variations, the capability of searching for the optimal power point within a wide operational range facilitated by integrating a single-ended primary inductor converter and eliminating the requirement of the output current and voltage sensors leading towards an economical solution. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is validated by MATLAB Simulink to ensure its capabilities by comparing it with adapted perturb and observe, classical model predictive control, and even without any maximum power point tracking technique. Results and findings indicate that the proposed EMPC algorithm can achieve the GMPP within 0.2 seconds under both PSCs and varying load conditions with an overall efficiency of 99.13%. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

One of the main areas of training for a modern technical systems engineer is complex automation. Analysis of the functioning of automation systems, their design is carried out using the so-called typical effects, that is, signals with known parameters. In a large number of cases, complex effects can be represented as power functions of time. In some cases, such series can reach a large number of terms. And this is not the only example in engineering practice when the approximation of some processes is realized through expansions into long functional series. It is a mistake to believe that the speeds of modern processors are so high that they can free the programmer from the sometimes-difficult search for recurrent formulas and confine them to programming the sum of a series, based on a ready-made formula for the general term of the series. The aim of this study is to show that the use of recurrent relations not only allows to increase the speed of calculations, but is often the only condition for obtaining the correct final result. The codes of programs presented in the article that implement the processing of a series by two methods and a comparison of their results are quite convincing evidence of the need to search for and use recurrent relations in the development of algorithms based on the use of various types of series. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
