In 2007 the international Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) initiated Technical Committee (TC) IEC/ TC 114 to develop standards for marine energy converters including wave, tidal and other water current converters. Following the inaugural plenary meeting in 2008, the first IEC/TC 114 Technical Specification (TS), Terminology, was published in 2011 and significant work on the development of other TSs is ongoing. Initial conformity assessment activities began in 2011 and the Marine Energy Operational Management Committee (ME-OMC) of the IEC Renewable Energy (IECRE) System was established in 2014. An update on the status of international, consensus-based, marine energy standards and certification deliverables will be provided, including the development of Renewable Energy Test Reports (RETRs) under the IECRE. Currently, IEC/TC 114 has fourteen participating member (P-Member) countries and thirteen observer member (O-Member) countries. Nine Project Teams (PTs), two Ad-hoc Groups (AHGs), and seven Maintenance Teams (MTs) are engaged in writing new TSs, assessing information on TS applications and preparing the published TSs for release of 2nd Editions. To date, IEC/TC 114 has published ten TSs covering subjects including wave and tidal energy converter performance assessment and wave and tidal resource assessment. Additional TSs are expected to be published in 2019 covering river and ocean thermal energy converters and resources, among others. TSs developed by IEC/TC 114 and applied by the industry are essential to reduce risk and increase confidence in marine energy systems. These TSs serve as the fundamental underpinnings of international, 3rd party conformity assessment systems. such as the IECRE. The IECRE is currently comprised of fifteen Member Bodies and operates three Sectors: Marine Energy (ME), Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Wind Energy (WE). The rate regions and sufficiency of simple linear codes for a class of distributed storage systems.with prioritized data sources are investigated in this paper. The exact repair problem is considered. Different from conventional setups, the scenario considered in this paper has prioritized data sources, where the hot data has higher priority than cold data in the decoding process. It is assumed that a user demanding cold data demands hot data as well. Instead of using same capacity for all storage nodes, the rate regions of interest are all feasible different storage sizes versus different tuples of source entropies, with assumption of sufficient large repair bandwidth. Both symmetric and asymmetric repairs are discussed in the paper. Linear network codes over some finite field are said to be sufficient for such a distributed storage system if and only if for every point in the rate region, there exists a code over that finite field to achieve it. As a multi-source multi-sink network coding problem, the rate regions are obtained from computer-aided approaches via bounding the region of entropic vectors. Experimental results on the rate regions of hundreds of non-isomorphic distributed storage systems.are presented for demonstration. In addition, it is shown that binary linear codes suffice for most of them. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

Power systems.1) state estimation plays an important role in monitoring transmission systems. With the emergence of smart grid concept, it will be necessary to extend state estimation function to distribution level to ensure the efficient integration of distributed energy resources. Reducing program response time is one of the on-going challenges that electrical researchers are facing to circumvent computational burden, especially since the DC approximation and fast decoupled formulation are no more viable in distribution systems. This paper evaluates the possibilities offered by two variants of the basic Weighted Least Squares Algorithm to reduce computation time.
