Colorum vehicles, as defined by the Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board of the Philippines, are vehicles acting as Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) without proper registration or authorization. They present one of the most rampant problems in Philippine transportation, and current systems.designed to detect colorum vehicles include only manual visual inspection which are prone to error and can disrupt traffic. An RF-based (Radio Frequency) system for automatically detecting registered vehicles was designed and tested to solve this problem. This system uses a pair of RF nodes - one installed in a PUV to mark it as registered and one installed in a base station to detect RF nodes in passing PUVs. Test results showed that it was possible to detect a registered PUV 100% of the time when the system is deployed at a PUV stop, and 97% of the time when deployed along an open road in a PUV route. Detection distances for registered PUVs were also measured to be at an average of 77m for base stations deployed at waiting sheds, which would grant traffic enforcers enough time to flag down a suspected colorum vehicle. Overall, the system can reduce the number of instances that traffic enforcers would have to flag down and inspect vehicles, therefore resulting in a more efficient implementation of traffic rules.
Deep learning has been demonstrated to be very effective in many difficult tasks of computer vision(CV) and natural language processing(NLP). But this usually depends on a large number of available training samples to...

Supporting group Undo/Redo with high performance in a 3D designing environment still remains a challenge. The question is how to recover the document state as if an operation is never executed. In this paper, we are going to propose an inverse-operation based group Undo/Redo solution for feature-based 3D collaborative CAD systems. It allows a 3D part to be manipulated locally. We developed an ontology in the CAD domain so as to describe common elements in typical feature-based CAD systems. By classifying features according to how they affect a volume, feature modeling operations are categorized into four groups. We are able to create inverse operations for operations belonging to the same category. The proposed methods are tested in a prototype system with case study.

Rough set theory is an effective approach to imprecision, vagueness, and uncertainty. This theory overlaps with many other theories such that fuzzy sets, evidence theory, and statistics. From a practical point of view, it is a good tool for data analysis. However, classical rough set theory cannot cope with the incomplete information systems.where some attribute values are missing. There have been efforts in studying incomplete information systems.for data classification which are based on the extensions of rough set theory. Moreover, the existing approaches have their weaknesses in terms of inflexible and imprecise in data classifications. To overcome these issues, we propose a relative tolerance relation of rough set (RTRS) to handling incomplete information systems. which it has flexibility and precisely for data classification. We compared RTRS with the existing approaches, the results show that our proposed method relatively achieves higher flexibility and precisely in data classification in incomplete information systems.
The growth of the volume of data is enormous and so is the computational requirement for processing data. With the fast pace of growth of data volume, the file system design also needs to evolve fast to meet the vario...

The SCoPE@Scuola initiative was born with the aim to inspire curiosity in high school students about High Performance computing (HPC) and Parallel and distributedcomputing (PDC). The HPC/PDC world could be an interesting matter for students because is a necessary tool to solve challenging problems in science and technology and it provides context where a plenty of knowledge acquired at school can find a real application. In fact, the themes related to HPC/PDC involve a large range of knowledge and skills: from mathematical modelling of problems to algorithm design, from software implementation to design and management of complex computer systems. The initiative, begun at the end of 2014, involved several schools in the Naples (Italy) district, and has also been used for work-based learning activities and projects aimed to avoid students "dropouts". The results collected during all the last years make us hopeful that such initiative could be useful both to increment students awareness about the utility in the real world of all the knowledge acquired at school and to help them in their future educational and/or working choices.
