Modern power grids face challenges due to the integration of renewable sources such as solar and wind, which are intermittent resources that are not always accessible and may fluctuate in availability. Electricity demand fluctuates throughout the day, with peak periods stressing the grid infrastructure. Plug-in vehicles have the capability to function either as energy consumers or as distributed energy and power resources, a concept commonly referred to as vehicle-to-grid (V2G). Renewable energy-based microgrids integrated with electric vehicles (EVs) can be a promising transition. This proposed model has assessed the services that the main grid can provide, such as efficiency, storage and flexibility, reliability, frequency regulation, demand response, peak load management, and energy cost to consumers, through the integration of V2G and grid-to-vehicle (G2V) technology. The primary objective of this research is to assess the feasibility, challenges, and potential benefits associated with deploying V2G and G2V systems.within the unique socio-economic and infrastructural context of Bangladesh. The proposed model is designed and investigated using SIMULINK design tools representing a V2G frequency regulation model for microgrids employing EVs. This microgrid analysis comprises a synchronous motor, baseload, two types of EV batteries, an electric vehicle aggregator, and transformers, considering actual power generation. Different scenarios, including charging current, DC-link voltage, power dissipation, and state-of-charge (SoC), have been analyzed in terms of regulating grid frequency for three different fidelity levels. The findings demonstrated that the V2G and G2V systems.can deliver more effective frequency regulation during peak energy demand in microgrid systems. This research will delve into the existing infrastructure, technological requirements, and frameworks needed to support V2G and G2V systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Addressing the issues of poor real-time data transmission, high network latency, and long response times in traditional Ethernet communication systems.used in distributed energy systems.within industrial parks, this research focuses on designing a distributed real-time communication system master station based on the EtherCAT transmission protocol. The system is developed using the Qt cross-platform development framework. The distributed real-time communication system consists of a master station that provides management and control functions and slave stations that receive response signals. The master station and slave stations are connected via standard Ethernet cables, and communication data is captured and analyzed using Wireshark. Test results demonstrate that the system exhibits good real-time performance and fast response speeds, effectively addressing issues such as network congestion, data frame collisions, and packet loss commonly encountered when using traditional Ethernet in distributed energy systems. © 2023 SPIE.

Cryptography is the practice of secure communication to protect data's confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. In the context of blockchains, cryptography is used to secure transactions, protect users' privacy, and ensure the integrity and security of the network. Nevertheless, this later is subject to many attacks, such as post-quantum attacks. In this paper, we survey and extract how cryptography is used in blockchains from a layered perspective: data, Consensus, and Execution to Application layers. We summarize our findings and results using a table containing the functions of cryptographic protocols, families, functions, primitives, and schemes and how they are utilized for each studied blockchain platform. We discuss each cryptographic technique's related DCEA layer in the forecited table. Therefore, this work helps assess current cryptographic techniques used in current distributed Ledger Technologies or design and develop new hardened ones by choosing post-quantum-related cryptographic techniques for each layer.

It is possible to facilitate recovery, restore the system, and reduce the length of the outage by accurately identifying the distribution system fault. Since the D.G. is increasingly being connected to the distribution network, the traditional fault identification techniques are no longer suitable for the potential power distribution network. As such, fault analysis in a weak, imbalanced, multisource distribution system is difficult. To quickly identify issues with power distribution systems. this study proposes phasor measurement-based fault analysis. To analyze three phases to ground faults near the distribution feeder and generator, we employ synchro phasor technology (P.M.U.) in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. Additionally, disturbance recorders and PMUs are used for comparative analysis. The results demonstrate how effectively PMU lowers the maximum fault current and detects variations in voltage and current. In addition, several current grid-related problems are discussed in this paper, along with innovative fault-prediction and smart grid monitoring systems. © 2023 IEEE.

This article presents an efficient downlink zeroforcing (ZF) precoding technique that utilizes the twoDimensional Direction of Arrival (2D-DOA) beam-spaced method to maximize the energy efficiency of multi-cell massive- MIMO systems. The approach for estimating the critical elevation and azimuth angles of detected signals from distributed sources in multi-cell massive-MIMO systems.is also detailed. A mathematical model for energy efficiency of downlink ZF precoding is developed using these critical angles, and its performance is evaluated and compared to conventional 2D-DOA methods. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves energy efficiency with a gain of approximately 98.3% compared to the deterministic ZF precoding method. © 2023 IEEE.

Efficient resource orchestration within cloud-native and future 6G infrastructures is a major challenge and essential for maintaining seamless service delivery. We present a novel monitoring approach as part of the REASON 6G architecture that is designed to leverage microservices and cloud-native technologies, which extend beyond traditional technological or administrative domain boundaries, incorporating the edge domain within ubiquitous networks. The core of this approach is the development of Monitoring Applications (mApps) and the Matching Service. The former are microservices tracking/gathering data metrics from a data source such as the edge system, while the latter is a request-matching messaging system built on the WireMQ messaging library, with its appropriately designed well-defined Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) APIs facilitating secure, scalable data distribution across cloud-native environments. This microservice-based approach enhances flexibility, scalability, and maintainability in monitoring systems. making it particularly suitable for complex environments like 5G and future 6G networks. Moreover, it allows cross-domain extendability and interoperability through its hierarchical design. Our presented WireMQ-based prototype supports authentication and authorization, ensuring controlled and secure access to data. It also offers features like historical data storage, data watchers and triggers, and topic abstraction for data protection. In this work, we demonstrate its capabilities in a decentralised and distributed network. © 2024 IEEE.

Optimally siting distributed generations (DGs) is regarded as one of the most effective mechanisms for loss mitigation on a distribution network. Power loss curtailment on distribution networks is a very essential in power system operation and management since it constitutes the major share of the overall power loss on power systems. Losses on power systems.lead to exorbitant network operation costs as well as the distortion of the system's voltage profile. In traditional DG placement, the optimal locations and the number of distributed generators are optimally determined for ensuring that losses are reduced to the barest minimum in order to meet the power demand of consumers. Load variation on distribution buses leads to different resultant losses in comparison with constant loads. Nevertheless, several proposed models for DG allocation problem ignored consumers' load variability. While the selected few that considered load variation in their proposed models neglected the impact of ambient temperature change on electrical energy usage which influence appropriate places and DG number. Accordingly, the current study evaluates environment's temperature change impact on DG allocation solutions to access environmental temperature change importance in loss optimization via DG placement. It is observed that ambient temperature variations significantly change the appropriate places and DG sources number. © 2023 IEEE.
