In most of the administrative sections of the government, the enormous amount of digital data is generated. As expected, there will be continuous data insecurity in different forms like tinkering university marks of students, making up of certificates which are bogus, changing or erasing the digital ledger of land records. We need a reliable method that makes this digital data immutable to generate trust between administrative sections of the government and the citizens. To do this, we can materialize the "Block chain, a peer-to-peer software technol-ogy" which is an inherent concept from "Bitcoin" crypto currency (Heng in The Application of Block chain Technology in E-government in China, 2017) [1]. To hedge the digital records insecurity, block chain supports a distributed database which clasps encrypted ledger in a decentralized fashion. Upon the occurrence of a transaction, the transaction should be verified and then placed inside distributed encrypted ledger. Afterward, a set of "N" digital transactions are taken into account to calculate hash and kept in a block along with the timestamp. If the hash, timestamp along with transactions placed in a block, it is challenging to change or expunge transactions inside the block, considering that cryptographic block hash is irretrievable. The recently validated block is then connected and appended after the earlier block of block chain using earlier cryptographic block hash value. We have introduced the different schemes for materializing block chain technology in administrative sections of the government, e.g., in the department stamp and registration duties. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

One of the most important directions in control theory is the development of the theoretical foundations for creating artificial entities capable of acting autonomously. A number of IEEE standards formulates the requirements for such systems. Such object should have the property of self-sufficient behavior that guarantees the fulfillment of some mission. A number of papers note the existence of a gap between the developed behavioral and interaction models of artificial entities based on the theory of multi-agent systems. distributed artificial intelligence, swarm robotics, and practical expectations. The gap and the requirement of autonomy and intellectualization of artificial entities’ behavior make us to reconsider logical and mathematical abstractions in the basis of their onboard control systems. The paper proposes a solution to the problem of constructing such systems.based on the pattern theory. It shows the implementation of effective experience transfer and the compatibility of the theological approach and the causal approach. The paper considers the problems of identification and construction of pattern models. It proposes to use four positions of information processing for these purposes and describes the developed method of logical inference based on patterns. © 2020 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.

One of the main goals in aeronautic industry is to increase the total electrical power in on-board systems. The first approach is to increase the voltage while reducing the volume of converters. However, this approach induces very high electrical constraints on the insulating materials used for power module. These local high electric fields can cause premature failure, by partial discharge activity and insulation breakdown. In order to efficiently reduce the electrical stresses in high voltage power modules, the design of new stress-control encapsulating composite materials with graded properties has been developed using the particles electrophoresis auto assembling technique. It is a promising solution since it does not impact the volume of the power module and has a negligible impact on the overall mass. The aim of this paper is to evaluate different strategies to achieve such field grading encapsulating composite with local high relative permittivity (epsilon(r) > 10), tailored around critical areas where the electric field is high. The present paper mainly proposes two processes to enable the electrodeposition of a field grading layer within a composite encapsulation to cover multiple electrodes of a direct bonded copper (DBC) substrate with a complex layout. The first approach consists in adding a new and fixed electrode on the layout of DBC substrate that will not be polarized or used during normal operation of the module. The second method consists in adding a removable top electrode above the substrate. Results show that the latter approach is potentially the best choice to enable the electrodeposition of a homogenous thickness of field graded layer on a complex DBC layout with multiple adjacent copper tracks.

Many contemporary data-intensive applications exhibit irregular and highly concurrent memory access patterns and thus challenge the performance of conventional memory systems. Driven by an expanding need for high-bandwidth memory featuring low access latency, 3D-stacked memory devices, such as the Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), were designed to provide significantly higher throughput as compared to standard JEDEC DDR devices. However, existing memory interfaces and coalescing models, designed for conventional DDR devices, are unable to fully exploit the bandwidth potential inherent in these new 3D-stacked memory devices. In order to remedy this disparity, we introduce in this work a novel paged adaptive coalescer (PAC) infrastructure with a scalable coalescing network for 3D-stacked memory. We present the design and simulated implementation of this approach on RISC-V embedded cores with attached HMC devices. We have carried out extensive evaluations and the results show that the proposed PAC methodology yields an average coalescing efficiency of 56.01%. Further, our evaluation results also show that the PAC reduces bank conflicts and the power consumption by 85.16% and 59.21%, respectively. Overall, PAC achieves an average performance gain of 14.35% (and up to 26.06%) across 14 test suites. These results showcase the potential of the PAC methodology as applied to architecture design for increasingly critical data-intensive algorithms and applications.

Fog computing architectures provide a new platform for distributed stream processing in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. In a hierarchical infrastructure, processing of stream data arriving from sensors starts at the lowest level edge nodes and proceeds to the intermediate level fog nodes and eventually to the top-level cloud node. The goal is to do as much processing as possible at the lower level nodes and react to unexpected or interesting input values as early as possible. The unexpected values are referred to as anomalies. They may occur due to malfunctioning of sensors, which may be due to accidents or intentional attacks, or changes in the environment. The anomalies must be detected and proper actions must be taken quickly to bring the application to a steady state. We describe a generic framework for detection of data anomalies in a fog hierarchy in this paper. Our framework can be adapted to any application and other fog architectures. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

distributed publish/subscribe systems.are an enabling technology for Industrial Internet of Things applications. While the number of sensors increases, network bandwidth becomes a bottleneck. Existing solutions typically aim to reduce network load either by pre-processing events directly on the edge or by aggregating events into larger batches. However, these approaches are rather static and do not adequately account for the application requirements of subscribers or the actual values of sensor measurements. This paper introduces methods for publish/subscribe systems.to dynamically adapt payloads of events at runtime based on i) different data reduction and transformation strategies, ii) a wrapper solution around existing message brokers and iii) a semantics-based event schema registry. Consumers are able to subscribe to various quality levels and receive virtual events, that are reconstructed directly at the subscriber based on knowledge from the semantic model and dynamic decision rules. Our evaluation shows that the concept of virtual events can reduce the network load between publishers, the message broker and subscribers compared to multiple investigated compression techniques.

Cloud computing relies on the advancement of distributed computing and virtualization technologies to achieve cost efficiency in the consumption of computing resources. Efficient resource allocation is one of the important concerns for cloud users. To satisfy the need of each cloud user in an efficient manner, provision has to be made to make sure that the resources are available to them at all the time. Optimal resource allocation with minimum wastage and maximizing the profit is considered to be challenging. Also once the resources are allocated, isolation among them is critical from security point of view as there exits various kinds of adversary attacks in the real world. In this paper a novel method has been proposed for priority based dynamic Virtual Machine (VM) allocation on the basis of various parameters such as No. of nodes or processor's request, Time of execution, Importance of user, Amount of storage required etc. and isolation among the allocated virtual machines since the virtualized services, hardware, software and infrastructures share the same physical resources. Also there are chances of adversary users hosted on the same hardware which may lead to various kinds of cross VM attacks and security threats. Finally an approximation technique for resource allocation problem has been addressed which consider each unallocated resource request from user that may lead to penalty for cloud administrator which increases as time elapses. As the resource allocation problem is considered for various applications, particularly for emergency service allocations such as scientific simulations related to cyclone prediction, monsoon prediction, rainfall etc. which needs high performance computational power. Thus allocating the resource request within the predetermined time limit is of primary concern otherwise it may lose its purpose.

This manuscript proposed and explored a novel strategy for optimizing the composition of tasks from distributed workflows to achieve parallel execution, optimality toward resource utilization. The critical objective of the proposal is to optimize the task sequences from the workflows initiated to execute parallel in distributed rdF environment, which is unique regard to the earlier contributions related to parallel query planning and execution strategies found in contemporary literature. All of these existing models are aimed to notify the tasks from the given workflow, which are less significant to optimize the parallel execution of the multiple tasks located in distributed workflows. In order to this, the multi-objective optimization of composing task (MOCT) sequences from distributed workflows is proposed. The MOCT optimizes the execution of tasks from multiple workflows initiated in parallel. A novel scale called "task sequence consistency score" uses the order of other metric task sequence coverages, dependency scope, and lifespan as input. The experiments are conducted on the proposed model, and other benchmark models are found in contemporary literature. The results are obtained from the experimental study evincing that the MOCT is significant and robust to optimize the task sequences in order to execute distribute workflows in parallel. The comparative analysis of the results is obtained from MOCT, and other contemporary models are performed using ANOVA standards like t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

This paper proposes the detection of islanding and fault in a PV penetrated power system. A comprehensive mathematical model of photovoltaic (PV) array connected to grid consisting of circuit breaker and three phase fault including maximum power point tracker, IGBT bridge and controller is presented based on MATLAB simulink tool. PV model is evolved by taking basic circuit equation of photovoltaic solar cells including effects of solar irradiation and change in temperature. Islanding is a situation where a small part of grid is detached from principal grid which is done when there is a fault or maintenance is required.
