the preservation of cultural heritage is paramount, and traditional woodblock prints stand as invaluable artifacts encapsulating the rich history of Vietnamese craftsmanship and artistic expression. the ultimate goal of our project is to transform 2d representations into accurate and natural 3d woodblock models using reconstruction techniques and computer vision algorithms. there are many steps in the work, including: training model, restoration of woodblock surfaces;and post-processing. the aim of the post-processing phase is to achieve the most comprehensive form of woodblock by combining parts of a woodblock generated in the preceding steps. this paper focuses on presenting a post-processing workflow designed for the restoration of 3d models of historical Vietnamese printing woodblocks from 2d prints. the practical application of our workflow is demonstratedthrough the restoration of selected Vietnamese historical woodblocks, showcasing the efficacy of our methodology in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

Robust human face recognition is one of the most important open tasks in computer vision. this study deals with a challenging subproblem of face recognition: the aim of the paper is to give a precise estimation for the 3d head pose. the main contribution of this study is a novel non-rigid Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithm which utilizes the fact that the human face is quasi-symmetric. the input of the proposed algorithm is a set of tracked feature points of the face. In order to increase the precision of the head pose estimation, we improved one of the best eye corner detectors and fusedthe results withthe input set of feature points. the proposed methods were evaluated on real and synthetic face sequences. the real sequences were captured using regular (low-cost) web-cams.

Managing a territory through web based Geobrowsers requires very interactive and scalable architectures, capable to access vast scale repositories and capable to provide real-time behaviour. this paper illustrates a web-service based infrastructure developed by Graphitech to access geographical information of environmental interest. the paper shows that a 3d Geobrowser, deployed as a web-start application, is used to access a variety of different remote repositories containing a wide range of geographical information at a regional scale. Each user can interactively navigate within the 3d environment and can also interactively send real-time information on environmental features using GeoRSS technology. the paper illustrates how the resulting system is currently in use by an urban planning authority during their daily activities.
