this article designs an implementation of a set of network virtualization containers based on the VXWorks operating system. Using Veth virtual network port, VSwitch virtual switch, Mux multiplexing and other technologies to successfully achieve the isolation of containers, and successfully carry out multi-container TCP/IP protocol communication. © 2024 IEEE.

As digital advancements transform the workplace, office roles have evolved, compelling employees to remain seated for 10 to 12 hours daily. Prolonged sedentary behavior has emerged as a significant health concern, associated with increased risks of metabolic syndromes, cardiovascular diseases, and musculoskeletal disorders. this study introduces the Ergo Align Cushion, an innovative haptic-visual feedback system designed to promote dynamic sitting among office workers. the system utilizes a 48-point pressure sensor grid and vibration feedback modules embedded within an office seat cushion to dynamically monitor and adjust the user's sitting posture. Real-time visual feedback on the center of pressure distributions and sitting duration encourages movement and proper alignment. A developed prototype has shown promising results in improving posture and reducing subjective fatigue. this paper details the design, implementation, and testing of the Ergo Align Cushion, highlighting its potential to enhance office ergonomics and worker well-being.

the construction industry is facing significant challenges in aligning with the circular economy principles, primarily due to the management of Construction and Demolition waste. Effectively addressing this issue is pivotal in minimizing the environmental impact of buildings at the end of their life cycle. An essential step towards this goal involves establishing a robust supply chain for the recovery and reuse of waste materials and avoiding those to be landfilled. In this research a literature review has been carried out to map and analyse the existing challenges which prevent the establishment/implementation of a recovery route for the facade materials and components. these challenges could be transformed in actionable opportunities to tackle the problem. the facade systems are characterised by a relatively short service life compared to other building layers, and they undergo frequent process of refurbishment and renovation. the result is a large waste stream associated with the facades layer. Several issues were found to have consequences among multiple categories, showing the complexity of the End-of-Life (EoL) stages of facade materials. the identified challenges and opportunities in the EoL scenario of the facades can be categorised into technical, economic, logistical, legislative, and cultural domains. Finally, the paper discusses ongoing trends and research stream in the field of facades and building sustainability, such as the benefits of the design for disassembly approach in creating systems and components with a higher recovery potential and the design for reuse/recovery of materials.

the inefficiency of traditional warehouse systems can lead to a 20% decrease in revenue and a 30% reduction in storage capacity within five years. therefore, this study aims to design an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) capable of picking up and storing assets in the warehouse. the design focuses on enabling the AGV to choose the most optimal route. To achieve this, the method used in this research involves creating a warehouse map model using graph theory and employing the A∗ and D∗ algorithms for route selection. the heuristic value in both algorithms is calculated using Euclidean distance in addition to AGV turning costs. the findings demonstrate that, within the confines of the developed warehouse model, the D∗ algorithm perform slightly better than A∗ algorithm by approximately 1.02%. these results offer valuable insights into the efficacy of the D∗ algorithm in conjunction with graph theory mapping for warehouse navigation. By revealing the slight performance advantage of D∗ over A∗ in a static warehouse environment, this research contributes valuable insights for Industry 4.0 implementation. these findings can inform the selection of optimal pathfinding algorithms in warehouse automation, ultimately leading to improved efficiency and competitiveness within Indonesia's logistics sector. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate microfluidic flow control is essential for many lab-on-a-chip and point-of-care diagnostic applications. Syringe pumps are common pieces of benchtop equipment with this functionality. these systems are too expensive to be practical for use at research institutions with limited funding. 3D printing allows for the creation of a wide variety of alternative syringe pump systems;however, these systems lack the adaptable control and flow rate characterization necessary for use in microfluidic devices. Here we provide a straightforward and cheap method for managing several syringe pumps. It also demonstrates how to establish flow control and how to characterize the volume flow rates for a variety of syringe volumes. © 2023 IEEE.

Electricity plays a pivotal role in operating diverse scientific research, thermal control, and life support systems on the lunar surface. Recognizing the crucial role of electricity in the Lunar Research Station (LRS), it becomes imperative to propose a power system that ensures high reliability and efficiency. Drawing upon insights and experiences from previous space activities, the paper presents a systematic solution for the power system of the LRS, contextualized within the complexities of the lunar surface environment. the proposed systematic approach considers constraints related to volume and weight, technological maturity, scalability, and the lunar surface environment. the paper meticulously explores the power system structure, multidimensional power generation technology, power transmission technology, and power management strategy, providing a practical implementation path for constructing the power system for an LRS. © 2024 IEEE.
