this paper proposes the design and implementation of a high power full bridge bidirectional isolated DC-DC converter (BIDC) which comprises of two symmetrical voltage source converters and a high frequency transformer. In the proposed BIDC, a well-known PI controller based single phase-shift (SPS) modulation technique is used in order to achieve high power transfer. Besides, different phase shift methods such as extended phase-shift (EPS) and double phase-shift (DPS) are compared with SPS. Both simulation and experimental results are caried out to verify PI controller based simple phase-shift controlled BIDC prototype that is designed for 300-V 2.4-kW and operating at 20 kHz.

Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) promotes the use of models to conduct all phases of software development in an automated way. Models are frequently defined using Domain- Specific Modelling Languages (DSMLs), which many times need to be developed for the domain at hand. However, while constructing DSMLs is a recurring activity in MDE, there is scarce support for gathering, reusing and enacting knowledge for their design and implementation. this forces the development of every new DSML to start from scratch. To alleviate this problem, we propose the construction of DSMLs and their modelling environments aided by patterns which gather knowledge of specific domains, design alternatives, concrete syntax, dynamic semantics and functionality for the modelling environment. they may have associated services, realized via components. Our approach is supported by a tool that enables the construction of DSMLs through the application of patterns, and synthesizes a graphical modelling environment according to them. © 2015 IEEE.

the adoption of model-driven engineering in the automotive domain resulted in the standardization of a layered architectural description language, namely EAST-ADL, which provides means for enforcing abstraction and separation of concerns, but no support for automation among its abstraction levels. this support is particularly helpful when manual transitions among levels are tedious and error-prone. this is the case of design and implementation levels. Certain fundamental analyses (e.g., timing), which have a significant impact on design decisions, give precise results only if performed on implementation level models, which are currently created manually by the developer. Dealing with complex systems, this task becomes soon overwhelming leading to the creation of a subset of models based on the developers experience;relevant implementation level models may therefore be missed. In this work, we describe means for automation between EAST-ADL design and implementation levels to anticipate end-to-end delay analysis at design level for driving design decisions.

the instability of the speed-sensorless induction motor (IM) drives based on an adaptive full-order observer in the regenerative region is well recognized. the stability of this system is depended on feedback gains of the adaptive full-order observer, therefore, the feedback gains design for a stable adaptive full-order observer and the practical design are essentially. In this paper, the practical and simple feedback gains design for a stable adaptive full-order observer is an introduced in wide operating regions. Moreover, the observers are satisfied by global and local stability. Validity of the designed sensorless control is confirmed by simulation and experiment.

the system proposed in this work makes use of an underwater operated vehicle to replace the divers in the inspection operation in Hydroelectric Power Station (HPS) equipped with high-resolution video cameras, able to get sharp and clear images for the embedded system processing. Additionally the images can be seen, enhanced and recorded in the control system. the use of image processing and intelligent systems techniques increases the reliability of the diagnosis. the proposed system presents numerous operational advantages allowing the replacement of the inspection teams, reducing the human risk element for the workers involved and reduces costs. the equipment could be used, repeatedly, in numerous similar activities and tasks. the implementation of the proposed system has been a resource for significant reduction in inspection and operating costs, giving a quick return on investment.

the DESTINATION project, operating since 2010, proposed as its primary objective the implementation of a new information system called GIIS (Global Integrated Information System). the GIIS provides a platform for the sharing and analysis of data concerning dangerous goods transportation within the territories of the project: Canton Ticino, Piedmont Region, Lombardy Region, Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley and Autonomous Province of Bolzano Alto Adige. the GIIS is based on a risk analysis model related to the transport of dangerous goods, which is able to consider both human and environmental targets that are potentially exposed. the article describes the approach used to assess possible environmental targets in a consistent way with the goals of the project. By applying the AHP methodology, a weighting coefficient for non-human targets is defined, in order to homogenize the units of measurement of the potential damages of the exposed environmental targets, as well as to allow the algebraic sum of the risks.

In this paper the design and implementation of DC-DC converter based SMPS for a telecommunication system is presented. A high frequency transformer is used to provide the galvanic isolation between the input and output. A complete design methodology of high frequency transformer used for full-bridge buck derived topology is presented. the operating modes, analysis, and design considerations are explained for the proposed converter. Simulation and experimental results are also presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed converter. © 2014 IEEE.

the analysis of software architecture plays an important role in understanding the system structures and facilitate proper implementation of user requirements. Despite its importance in the software engineering practice, the lack of formal description and verification support in this domain hinders the development of quality architectural models. To tackle this problem, in this work, we develop an approach for modeling and verifying software architectures specified using Monterey Phoenix (MP) architecture description language. MP is capable of modeling system and environment behaviors based on event traces, as well as supporting different architecture composition operations and views. First, we formalize the syntax and operational semantics for MP; therefore, formal verification of MP models is feasible. Second, we extend MP to support shared variables and stochastic characteristics, which not only increases the expressiveness of MP, but also widens the properties MP can check, such as quantitative requirements. third, a dedicated model checker for MP has been implemented, so that automatic verification of MP models is supported. Finally, several experiments are conducted to evaluate the applicability and efficiency of our approach.

this paper focuses on the design and implementation of Organisational Ubiquitous Information systems for Digital Native and Digital Immigrant users. Organisational Ubiquitous Information systems refer to information systems available through many devices such as smart phones that are used by employees of an organisation anytime and anywhere to achieve specific work related goal(s). A multi-methodological approach was used to explore the design requirements for Organisational Ubiquitous Information systems design as compared with Traditional Information systems design. the findings suggest that Organisational Ubiquitous Information systems are part of a large organisational digital ecosystem, and hence a design and implementation framework for these systems needs to reflect this. this paper proposes a conceptual framework for the Organisational Ubiquitous Information systems design process.
