This paper describes an expert system, which allows a tutor to lead quality testing of knowledge and practical skills of microcontroller systems designers in the shortest time. Such an expert system allows the tutor to give students tasks of a test according to their complexity. If a student can't fulfill a task, then it is not necessary to give him a more complex task which has elements of the previous task that students did not fulfill. At first, students receive theoretical knowledge of base principles of microcontroller systems designing. Students can receive this knowledge from the university WEB-site. There are lots of multimedia courses. These courses explain how students can use equipment and software. Further, students learn the C-programming for AVR microcontrollers. The next stage of the training is working out of a project. A project has a system circuit and C-programs which support the microcontrollers' functioning. Further a project is simulated with the help of the ISIS subsystem of the Proteus simulator. Such simulation helps students to see the quality of a project. They can look through several variants of a project and select the optimal variant of a circuit and a C program. The next stage of designing projects is their implementation with the help of real equipment. This paper proposes a technique of receiving practical experience in microcontroller systems designing. This technique is based on the microcontroller board Arduino Uno. The expert system has tasks of different complexity. This technique allows students to do projects of a different level of complexity. It will give students more deep experience in the designing of microcontroller systems. © 2020 ieee.

In the projects of space electronics, because of its constant complication, the existing methods of the Foresight involving qualified specialist designers of electronic equipment as experts, no longer provide guaranteed solutions for ensuring important reliability indicators. In this paper, the authors propose to select computer programs and carry out comprehensive modeling to increase the efficiency of the expert panels at the stage of technical design of space electronic equipment. Thus, experts receive complete information about the physical processes in future electronic equipment. Considering this information, they make decisions on the use of these or other advanced technologies, and can also more reasonably express their proposals on synthesized approaches to creating electronic equipment for long periods of its use in space. This method should be referred to as the Foresight Modeling method. This paper describes the basics of the theory of this method and gives an example of an algorithm for the Foresight Modeling of thermal processes in the design of an electronic power supply system. Taking into account the resource of this system, experts can more accurately judge the long-term existence of new-generation spacecraft. © 2019 ieee.

The Robot Operating system (ROS), a collection of tools, libraries, and conventions, is a powerful framework for programming robot software, and ROS-based mobile robot systems are becoming increasingly significant in human life. ROS has therefore been extensively taught in robotics program in electrical engineering programs. However, although it is a low-cost solution to allowing students to perform a variety of simulations and validating new algorithms before implementing them on an actual mobile robot, teaching ROS so that students can use it efficiently and effectively is a challenging task. Regular electrical engineering courses on ROS may focus on theories but neglect hands-on experiences. Traditional lab-driven pedagogy may provide hands-on opportunities on ROS itself but may still not bring students close enough to the actual applications of ROS to their major robot projects in their electrical engineering education. In this paper, a technological content knowledge (TCK) based method is utilized to create learning opportunities that allow students to construct their knowledge of the technology/tool (the T) in close relation to the content/robot programming (the C). The multi-lab-driven method (MLDM) was employed to construct the TCK of ROS of students in the context of designing an autonomous mobile robot system. A sequence of multiple labs were assigned to students to cover various topics in the ROS. A variety of labs that reflect the ROS experiments and assist students in better understanding robotics programming were elaborately managed. Based on students' performance on various lab assignments, lab reports, presentations, the final robot project, students' input to the official course evaluation administered by the university, and a comparison to the instructor's previous years of teaching experience, we propose that the MLDM is effective in helping students to learn ROS efficiently and meaningfully in the real world of engineering projects. Reverse Code Engineering (RCE) to detect anti-debugging techniques in software is a very difficult task. Code obfuscation is an anti-debugging technique makes detection even more challenging. The Rule Engine Detection by Intermediate Representation (REDIR) system for automated static detection of obfuscated anti-debugging techniques is a prototype designed to help the RCE analyst improve performance through this tedious task. Three tenets form the REDIR foundation. First, Intermediate Representation (IR) improves the analyzability of binary programs by reducing a large instruction set down to a handful of semantically equivalent statements. Next, an expert system (ES) rule-engine searches the IR and initiates a sense-making process for anti-debugging technique detection. Finally, an IR analysis process confirms the presence of an anti-debug technique. The REDIR system is implemented as a debugger plug-in. Within the debugger, REDIR interacts with a program in the disassembly view. Debugger users can instantly highlight anti-debugging techniques and determine if the presence of a debugger will cause a program to take a conditional jump or fall through to the next instruction.

Even though many universities are offering programs in knowledge engineering, it's a rarity that a course on knowledge acquisition is included in the knowledge engineering curriculum content. At George Washington University, a course on knowledge acquisition is required as part of the Master of Science program in Applied Artificial Intelligence and expert systems. This paper describes the need for more university courses on knowledge acquisition, which then can contribute to improving the state-of-the-art in expert systems development.< >

Often times, many expert systems are not deployed or used on a regular basis because of poor institutionalization strategies on the part of the managers or knowledge engineers of expert systems projects. If expert systems are to gain more acceptance as an essential and routine component of corporate information systems, better methods of selecting potential expert systems, estimating development costs and times, and managing development projects, must be devised. In this paper, based on the development of PRXDM, an expert system for the fault diagnosis of the PRX/A electronic telephone exchange, a development life-cycle for expert system development is proposed. Seven phases are identified;Domain Definition, General Design, Detailed Design, Prototype Development, Integration, Field Testing and Operation. Provision is made for the extensive iteration and incrementation which is an essential part of all expert system development. The paper also presents a framework for testing, verifying and validating expert systems, and suggests relevant metrics that could be collected in each phase of development. Finally, a simple method of estimating the cost of expert system projects is suggested. © 1991 ieee.
