By using ***., user defined models can be developed quickly, allowing efficient simulation of even large circuits. To outline the performance improvement and flexibility obtained with our tool, we present comparisons with both simulation results of large memory array and simulation of HDL-A ferroelectric capacitor implementation.

In this paper we describe the digital kernel implementation of the simulator S.A.M.S.A.[1], a tool for the simulation of Vhdl-Ams systems in Matlab(TM). The digital kernel was validated toy simulating different systems. In particular we will show the simulation of a low-power multistage decimator for a wideband Delta-Sigma Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). In this paper, VHDL-AMS is used for the behavioralmodeling of a linear actuation system that contains subsystems and components belonging to different physical domains, such as the solenoid (electromechanical), the valve (hydraulic), and the driver circuit (electrical). The paper describes the modeling methodologies applied to each subsystem and focuses on additional modeling approaches for capturing the non-linear behavior of the solenoid. An overview of a simulation strategy for the verification of one of the first mixed-signal field-programmable system on a chip (FPSOC) is presented. The FPSOC integrates a microcontroller, FLASH memory, programmable digital blocks, and programmable analog blocks. This paper discusses extensions to Verilog-A that address compact modeling needs. It reviews compact modeling and analog circuit simulation, and then presents a simple Verilog-A compact model for a capacitor. Based on this example, extensions are presented that make Verilog-A better suited to compact modeling. A tentative implementation of each extension is proposed and described. The paper concludes with a summary of the extensions, implemented in a revised capacitor model.
