A powerful and systematic approach to behavioralmodeling of nonlinear microwave/RF circuits in the time domain is presented, integrating several techniques from nonlinear dynamical systems analysis. Algorithms based on information-theoretic principles help determine efficient trade-offs between model accuracy, speed, and complexity. Models are constructed from large-signal microwave measurements or simulations, and are integrated into a commercial nonlinear circuit simulator. A simulation speedup of more than an order of magnitude has been achieved.

This paper considers the advantages of statistically motivated reasoning in analyzing the nonlinear model reduction problem. By adopting an information-theoretic analysis, we argue that the general analog macromodeling is tractable on average by nonlinear reduction methods. We provide examples to illustrate the importance of utilizing prior information, and provide a general outline of algorithms based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space machinery.

The predistortion architecture is based on FPGA-based look-up tables that drive RF vector modulators. behavioral models are extracted from the RF components and simulated in the same file with the digital components. This paper presents a VCSEL diode model including electrical, thermal and optical behaviors where noise is present in the rate equations. VHDL-AMS language is used to write this model. Langevin forces are introduced in equations and generated in Mentor Graphics ADVanceMS(C) by white noise signal generators, using the UNIFORM statement. For improving the performance of PLL, a sin(-1) (x) function generator has been substituted for a standard phase detector. The behavior of blocks have been modeled with VHDL-AMS at different abstraction levels and compared with experimental results. We point out that connections between that blocks may need some (impedance) adaptation and physical accurate models may not be absolutely necessary for an accurate simulation of the loop.

In this paper we present our approach for performing behavioral Fault simulation (BFS). This approach involves three main steps :(i) the definition of an internal modeling of behavioral descriptions, and the determination of a Fault Model;(ii) the definition of a fault simulation technique;(iii) the implementation of this technique. Finally, this paper deals with experiments conducted an ITC'99 benchmarks in order to validate a VHDL behavioral fault simulator (BFS).
