Teaching a new programming language in CS1 requires the instructor to make several important decisions regarding sequencing of topics. In teaching Java, the basic decisions center around how to perform input and output, when to teach the AWT (Abstract Window Toolkit) and threads, whether to begin with applets or applications, and how much detail about object-oriented programming and Java language features is required in the beginning. This paper describes a `language features gently' approach to teaching CS1 in Java.

Three-Dimensional Networks-on-Chips (3D-NoCs) have been proposed as an auspicious solution, merging the high parallelism of the Network-on-Chip (NoC) paradigm with the high-performance and low-power of 3D-ICs. However, as feature sizes and power supply voltages continually decrease, the devices and interconnects have become more vulnerable to transient errors. Transient errors, or soft errors, have severe consequences on chip performance, such as deadlock, data corruption, packet loss and increased packet latency. In this paper, we propose a soft-error resilient 3D-NoC router (SER-3DR) architecture for highly-reliable many-core Systems-on-Chips. The proposed architecture is able to recover from transient errors occurring in different pipeline stages of the *** implemented the architecture in hardware with 45 nm CMOS technology. Evaluation results show that SER-3DR is able to achieve a high level of transient error protection with a latency increase of 18.16%, an additional area cost of 14.98% and a power overhead of 5.90% when compared to the baseline router architecture. © 2015 IEEE.

Object: With the help of style conversion Network, the design of the Zhuang brocade pattern is derived to explore the new direction of inheritance and development of the Zhuang brocade pattern in the current era. Methods: The cultural connotation and design value of Zhuang brocade patterns are analyzed, and the selected Zhuang brocade patterns are used as content maps and different style maps to conduct style conversion Network experiments. The experimental results are analyzed and evaluated to find the optimal conversion solution. Investigate the effect of the conversed Zhuang brocade pattern in the derivative design. Result: By using style conversion Network, different styles of patterns can be generated quickly and can produce good derivative design effects in many products, thus achieving the purpose of integrating Zhuang brocade patterns with modern products. Conclusion: The addition of the style conversion Network algorithm makes the style simulation process significantly reduced, saving time for subsequent derivative designs and providing the possibility of mass production. The designs produced by the style conversion Network retain the original pattern characteristics of Zhuang brocade, with both auspicious symbolic meaning and national spirit, and realize the interaction between traditional crafts and the art field, in which the cultural heritage can also be shown, promoting Zhuang culture and providing new possibilities for the modern development of Zhuang brocade patterns. © 2023 SPIE.

Technologies related to the transportation electrification have been gaining attention in recent years. One technology that stands out is wireless charging, which still presents numerous challenges in terms of design and optimization of parameters. This article proposes a design methodology for optimizing the performance of an inductive power transfer (IPT) for wireless charging of electric vehicles, taking into account operating limits. The proposed methodology uses a PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm to find the design variables that maximize the eficiency. The methodology and the development of a 3.6 kW experimental setup are presented, resulting in a power transfer efficiency of 89.4 %. © 2023 IEEE.

Plagiarism is a well-known problem that impacts the academic community. The escalation of source code plagiarism affects the quality of computer science and technology education. This article approaches a novel architecture for an academic plagiarism detection system focused on projects and source code. A part of the detection process is based on a few already existing open-source tools. All the system components use the OpenStack Cloud platform services for scalability, parallel processing of files, and load balancing. The solution also integrates with an identity and access management system, which contains users, roles, and cohorts. The proposed solution is an efficient approach for both organizing assignments at which students upload projects and for detecting plagiarism in all the submitted assignments. © 2023 IEEE.

As the Web of Things (IoT) has created throughout recent years, unlicensed radio range has become more clogged with brilliant wireless gadgets that are utilized in an assortment of use spaces, prominently the 2.4 GHz ISM band. One of the easiest and most productive answers for energy-compelled networks is the wake-up receiver (WuRx). Rather than utilizing a conventional radio, this innovation empowers energy-independent on-request communication for persistent observing. One of the WSN methods that utilizes the most investment is directing. Consequently, planning an energy-effective steering procedure is fundamental. This exploration proposes Grouped WuRx based on Multicast wake-up (CWM), a progressive Wake-up Receiver-based directing convention that all the while streamlines energy use and time productivity for indoor conditions. In our proposed technique, bunches are made inside the organization. Emotion Recognition in Conversation (ERC) is a key component in affective dialogue systems, which helps the system understand users' emotions and generate empathetic responses. The typical approaches for modeling context have been to generate local representation of each utterance in a conversation and then perform contextual modeling of these. However, these approaches are insufficient in understanding the context due to lacking the ability to jointly capture both utterance- and conversation-level contextual information. To better model the context, we propose Context-Dependent Modeling (CDM) to capture context-dependent representation of the query utterance by utilizing the powerful representation capability of pre-trained language models. We input both the query utterance and its previous conversational context into RoBERTa and discard the need to model the context separately after obtaining the representation, as it already provides an effective embedding of such context. Besides, the emotion of the query utterance can be traced back to the stable mood of the speaker, which is inherited from previous emotional states. We design Memory Bank Traceback (MBT) to track and summarize the speaker's emotional inertia. We treat MBT as an auxiliary information source that enriches the representation of the query utterance. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate that CDM-MBT outperforms most baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's agribusiness, using robotics, machine learning, and also the web of things has become standard practise. The agricultural business is being forced to embrace such new methods in order to address issues like massive unemployment, rising food consumption with declining quality farmland, efficiency per square land, and deteriorating food quality due to global warming. As a result of the aforementioned difficulties and the world's increasing population, research and innovation in agricultural technology have become more crucial nowadays. In this document, we suggest an AI-powered wire automaton with six levels of autonomy and an omega automaton with degrees of opportunity that can help with agricultural tasks like sorting, pest management, picking strawberries and flowers, fertiliser application, and tracking of plant development, NPK tiers, and soil moisture. The robotic is called Farmbot. The Based criteria may communicate crop information to distant servers where it can be processed and retrieved to get further insight into soil quality. It can also be managed and watched remotely by a home computer or via a mobile internet software. The Farmbot may be programmed to do routine tasks including continuous monitoring, collecting fruit, cleaning, applying fertiliser, and gathering information about each plant. The Farmbot has direct exposure to just about any area of the field thanks to its placement over a moveable four wheels bot. This Farmbot's goal is mainly on providing individualised plant maintenance and aiding producers in raising output. As a design illustration of a functioning version for the imagined Farmbot, a 3D depiction is shown. The simulation's outcomes are shown. © 2022 IEEE.

Regional atrophy of the hippocampus is characteristic of individuals with very mild and mild forms of dementia of the Alzheimer type. The purpose of this study was to determine whether a similar regional atrophy of the hippocampus can predict the onset of Alzheimer's disease in elderly people. We developed an anatomical mapping technique to detect the regional atrophy of hippocampus in Alzheimer disease (AD). The resulting maps are sensitive to longitudinal changes in hippocampus structure as the disease progresses. An anatomical surface modeling approach was combined with 3D parametric mesh models of the hippocampus was created in sequential scans and averaged across subjects to identify systematic patterns of atrophy. As an index of radial atrophy, 3D distance fields were generated relating each surface point to a medial curve threading down the medial axis of each structure. © 2018 International conference on Image Processing, computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition, IPCV *** right reserved.

The implementation of a robotic arm for mineral extraction in mines is a challenging task that requires advanced technology and innovation. This paper proposes a solution using artificial intelligence (AI) and a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) to control the robotic arm's movement. A robotic arm with several degrees of freedom, a PMSM to move the arm, and AI algorithms to manage its motion make up the proposed system. The PMSM gives the arm's movements excellent control and enhances the precision and effectiveness of the mineral extraction procedure. The AI algorithms are in charge of directing the robotic arm's motion by examining sensor data and making choices following the situation at hand. The system is capable of adapting to its surroundings to improve the efficiency of mineral extraction. Compared to conventional mining methods, the suggested system has several benefits, including greater safety, increased efficiency, and lower costs. The system can completely transform the mining sector and can be applied in a variety of mining applications. Using a robotic arm and AI technologies, the suggested method offers a novel approach to mineral extraction in mines. The technology has several advantages over conventional mining methods and has the potential to greatly increase the productivity and security of the mining sector. © 2023 IEEE.
