Robotics and computational thinking are valuable tools for developing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) pedagogy, and to promote inclusion and integration of students. We currently have a multitude of robotic education tools at our disposal. These tools arise with the aim of promoting innovation and student motivation during the learning process. Robots are becoming more and more common in our society today. Therefore, it is important to integrate robots into all levels of our everyday life. This work is focused on presenting Raspberry Pi as enhancer of educational robotics. The first step is presenting robotics as a tool for promoting the inclusion and integration of students. For this work a background and overview is also provided. The third part proposed different setups to prepare a Raspberry Pi for remote activities and robotics using Arduino as hardware interface. The last but not the least is an open discussion with the aim of exchanging impressions and getting feedback from the attendees.

In recent years, face recognition technology has been rapidly promoted and used because of its advantages of convenience, non-contact and good recognition performance, and achieved good results. But for the polluted situation, such as expression change, illumination influence, posture change, occlusion, etc., because the collected image lost the original intrinsic characteristics, seriously affect the effect of face recognition. In recent years, the SRC method and its variants have good robustness to shaded and contaminated samples. However, when certain training samples and test samples are contaminated, the performance will degrade. The method based on low rank matrix recovery (LRMR) can effectively deal with the simultaneous contamination of training samples and test samples. However, they either ignore relationships between similar samples or fail to learn a compact dictionary from contaminated training data. To solve these problems, a locally constrained low-rank representation and dictionary learning algorithm (LCLRRDL) is developed and applied to robust face recognition. In this paper, the theoretical and experimental research of locally constrained low-rank representation and dictionary learning algorithm (LCLRRDL) is carried out. A low-rank representation is introduced to deal with possible contamination of training and test data, and local constraints are introduced to identify the inherent manifold structure of training data. Under local constraints, similar samples often have similar representations, and the learned representations can be directly used for classification. At the same time, this method can learn a compact dictionary with better refactoring and recognition ability. The superiority of LCLRRDL algorithm is verified by comparing it with support vector machine (SVM) and Sparse representation (SRC) for contaminated small sample face recognition. By comparing the best recognition effect and classification time of the three algorithms, it is foun

Filament or prominence in the solar atmosphere are clouds of relatively dense and cool gas. They are refer to the same thing while view from different perspectives. If the research focus is on the full solar disk surface, then we call them filament. If one's focus is on the limb of the solar surface then it is called prominence. The NJIT solar research group has intensive research on various solar activities and events from prominence, CME, filaments detection and flare. This report focuses on the comparison of using different extreme ultra violet images downloaded from NASA SOHO web sites. The studies of solar limb object detection which is an important preprocessing step that can lead to further detection of prominence eruption events. We discuss and compare various options of limb object detection using different wavelength of EUV images. Then we briefly describe how limb objects can be detected. Due to the effectiveness of using 304 A EUV image to detect prominence eruption, we compute only the features of these limb objects based on EUV 304A images. The results of the EUV Limb Object Detection Catalog, can be found at the NJIT Space Weather Research Lab web site http://***/itr/***.
