There are an increasing number of papers published every year. It is desired for researchers to find the new high-quality papers, which is also a challenging task due to the lack of citation information. In this paper, we propose a novel method to predicate a new paper influence by collaboratively learning the latent vectors of paper features and correlations. We propose the concept topic related authority to integrate the dynamic topic model with paper citations so as to learn how content and authors influence a paper quality. We adopt the Factorization Machine method to collaboratively learn the latent vectors of correlations between different paper features. Comparing with traditional methods, it does not require the citation information to evaluate a paper quality, which is appropriate for new published papers. We conduct extensive evaluation against a real dataset crawled from acm Digital Library. The results show that our method outperforms the other methods.

Aiming at the unreasonable weight allocation in traditional teaching evaluation, rough set theory (RST) is applied to the process of teaching evaluation. Using the Teaching Quality evaluation data of Business English Majors from Guangxi Talent International College, we establish the evaluation information system, and calculate the importance of evaluation index, based on which, the weight of index is calculated. Finally, the evaluation results are calculated according to the weight of index. The weight of rough set index is determined entirely by the data itself, avoiding the influence of subjective factors, so it is more scientific, reasonable, objective and fair. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

In this article, we present DBugs, a large-scale physical tool designed for school children to learn computer programming. DBugs was designed to support the social aspects of classroom learning. In user two studies we found DBugs supported collaboration between students as the large-scale tangible cubes meant each student found a role in the group work. We also found that with the larger size of artefacts the individual students' actions became public and this promoted communication and collaboration between the group members for a successful outcome.

The notion of sociomaterial practices speaks to a view of routine work in which people and materials are always already entangled. This implies that the commonsense tendency to treat concrete materials and social activity as separate analytical categories may actually muddy more than illuminate our understanding of practices. Engaging work from science and technology studies, this broad view of materiality refers not only to the physical properties of machines but also to software and algorithms, electrical grids and other infrastructure, buildings, human bodies, ecological systems etc. Despite remarkable enthusiasm, the conversation about sociomaterial practices occasionally has devolved into philosophical turf wars, engendering pleas for pluralism. All too often, such lofty conceptual debates lose sight of pragmatic concerns such as technology design work or humanitarian action. This essay traces both issues to a tension between adopting a grand philosophical Ontology, versus undertaking detailed empirical studies of particular concrete work practices. I argue that studies exploring the practical specifics of particular sociomaterial practices should be granted room for silence with respect to some theoretical commitments, on the grounds that this will afford a more lively pluralism. For ethnomethodologists, this re-orientation to grand theory is a matter of methodological rigor and theoretical sophistication. For pragmatists, room for silence has to do with the dilemma of rigor or practical relevance. This is not to say that key concepts are unnecessary-they can provoke us to look beyond narrow disciplinary confines and standard assumptions about the scope of field studies. Through an account of the 2013-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa, I show how these conceptual debates matter for empirical research and for design practice. We propose Tiger1, an eyeglasses-type wearable system to help users follow the 20-20-20 rule to alleviate the computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) symptoms such as eyestrain, headaches, and dry eyes. It monitors user's screen viewing activities and provides real-time feedback to help users take appropriate actions. We present a system architecture with an initial version of hardware prototype. Data migration has become one of the key technologies for load balance and high performance services in the distributed systems. In past years, the data migration researches focused on several factors including resource utilization, data quality or security improvement and migration time reduction, whereas the investigation on how to provide continuous system service during the data migration process has not attracted enough attention. In this paper, the migration operation cost and the user service quality are both weighted in the proposed migration scheme so as to guarantee a continuous high quality of user service during the data migration procedure. First, a cost-based migration model is built. Based on this model, the migration operation among the nodes of the data cluster is formulated as an optimization problem which targets to search for the optimal execution sequence. Then, an improved grey Wolf optimization algorithm (IGWO) is proposed to search for the optimized migration solutions. In addition, to guarantee the high quality service for some critical user requests, the bandwidth reserved for the migration operations is dynamically managed through the on-demand programming of SDN (Software Defined Network) controller. We conducted the experiments on the Greenplum database, and the results showed the effectiveness of the proposed migration scheme. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) interconnects thousands of sensor nodes to support the services of Internet of Things (IoT). However, data collected from sensor nodes may be tempered, forged and divulged. Traditional WSN data process platform handle the data centralized in terminal devices which is vulnerable to attacks and reduce the security of the system. Blockchain is a kind of distributed databases. It has been successfully applied in finance, securities, digital currency and other fields. We first propose a blockchain-based distributed collocation storage architecture for data security process platform of WSN with consensus protocol and asymmetric signature scheme. The security and efficiency are verified on the simulation to enable blockchain as a good solution.

Optimizing energy efficient Virtual Machine Consolidation (VMC) in a cloud computing environment, which is a non-linear multi-objective NP-hard problem, plays a vital role in decreasing energy consumption, and increasing Quality of Service (QoS). In this paper, VMC is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem, which has three conflicting objectives, power consumption, Service Level Agreements Violation (SLAV) and Mean Time Before Host Shutdown (MTBHS). We propose a multi-objective optimization algorithm based on Multi-Objective Sine Cosine Algorithm (MOSCA) for the VMC. We evaluate the performance of our model by applying two multi-objective algorithms, namely, Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm based on Decomposition (MOEAD) and Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGAII). Our research mainly focus on two tasks, i.e.,evaluating and comparing the multi-objective algorithms to find out the optimal solution and develop a MOSCA based algorithm to solve the proposed VMC model. The simulation results illustrated that the propose multi-objective model meets the optimal solutions amongst the three conflicting objectives, which significantly reduces the power consumption, SLAV and maximize the MTBHS. It got the best performance according to the Multi-objective Optimization Problem (MOP) indicators. © 2018 IEEE.

How might the content and outcomes of tertiary education programmes be described and analysed in order to understand how they are structured and function? To address this question we develop a framework for modelling graduate competencies linked to tertiary degree programmes in the computing disciplines. While the focus of our work is computing the framework is applicable to education more broadly. The work presented here draws upon the pioneering curricular document for information technology (IT2017), curricular competency frameworks, other related documents such as the software engineering competency model (SWECOM), the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA), current research in competency models, and elicitation workshop results from recent computing conferences. The aim is to inform the ongoing computing Curricula (CC2020) project, an endeavour supported by the Association for computing Machinery (acm) and the IEEE computer Society. We develop the Competency Learning Framework (CoLeaF), providing an internationally relevant tool for describing competencies. We argue that this competency based approach is well suited for constructing learning environments and assists degree programme architects in dealing with the challenge of developing, describing and including competencies relevant to computer and IT professionals. In this paper we demonstrate how the CoLeaF competency framework can be applied in practice, and though a series of case studies demonstrate its effectiveness and analytical power as a tool for describing and comparing degree programmes in the international higher education landscape.

In biometrics, face recognition methods are achieving momentum with recent progress in the computer vision(CV). Face recognition is widely used in the identification of an individual's identity. Unfortunately, in recent research work has revealed this face biometrics system is unprotected to spoofing attacks using by very low price instrument such as printed 2D photos attack, 3D masking attack and taking videos using smart devices (reply attack). Therefore, a Liveness Attack Detection (LAD) approach is needed to improve the high-quality security of face recognition system. Most of the earlier worked LAD methods for face anti-spoofing methods have highlight on using the handcrafted features, which are developed by expert knowledge of researcher. As example Gabor filter, Histogram of Oriented Gradients, local ternary pattern, and the Local Binary Pattern. Because of that, the extracted features consider limited factors of the problem, yielding a capture accuracy that is very low and changes with the point of presentation in attack face images. The deep learning method has developed in the computer vision research community, which is proven to be suitable for automatically training. In this article, we approach to mix or combine the handcrafted features and deep neural network features to design the discriminant face spoofing detection. The handcrafted features were based on LBP analysis. We examine the features information from the brightness and the chrominance channels using LBP descriptor. In deep features, we present an approach based on pre-trained convolutional neural network VGG-16 model using static features to recognize video and printed(2D) photo attacks. By attaching this two types of image features on our dataset and public databases, we get good results to identify real and attack images feature, called hybrid features, which has better discrimination ability to understand spoofing image feature. © 2019 IEEE.
