For traditional search methods affected by the index build time, resulting in poor search results, a multi-mode retrieval method for big data of economic time series based on machine learning theory is proposed. According to the good extensibility of big data, construct a retrieval model and use binary data conversion methods to match big data. The binary sequence is defined by the relationship between different data, the similarity of data features is calculated, and the candidate candidate sequence is filtered. Data with no similar features are filtered, and each sub-sequence set matching the pattern is given by similarity size. After the threshold is added, on the basis of slightly reducing the filtering amplitude, the calculation of the similarity matching in the big data retrieval process is greatly reduced, and combined with the fixed interval sampling matching method to determine the characteristics of big data, thereby realizing the machine learning theory. The multi-mode retrieval method for big data of economic time series based on machine learning theory retrieval. According to the experimental comparison results, the retrieval efficiency of the method can reach 95%, which provides effective help for large-scale retrieval of massive data. © 2019, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Recently, visual screening based on CT images become the useful tool in the medical diagnosis. However, due to the increasing data volumes and the computational complexity of the algorithms, image processing technique for the high quality visual screening is still required. To this end, some computer aided diagnosis (CAD) algorithms are proposed. Meanwhile, cancer is a leading cause of death in the world. Detection of cancer region in CT images is the most important task to early detection and early treatment. We design and develop a framework combining convolutional neural networks (CNN) with temporal subtraction techniques-based non-rigid image registration algorithm. However, conventional CNN has the issue that as the layers deeper, global information close to input images is lost. Therefore, we add a skip connection to conventional CNN. By adding a new skip connection, the proposed CNN network maintains the global information without loss of important features of input image. All in all, our proposed method can be built into three main steps;i) pre-processing for image segmentation, ii) image matching for registration, and iii) classification of abnormal regions based on machine learning algorithms. We perform our proposed technique to 25 thoracic MDCT sets and obtain the AUC score of 0.951.

—The Arabic Natural Language processing applications suffer from the deficiency of both Arabic corpus and gold standard corpus. Defined as a collection of written or spoken texts stored on a computer, a corpus is written either in a single language, Monolingual Corpus or in several languages, Multilingual Corpus. A corpus is considered as the most important sources for semantic and syntaxic analysis in the domain of natural language processing. Our study aims to build a New Silver Arabic Corpus collected from a set of Newspaper Articles morphologically analyzed. It contains 18,167,183 words in total incorporating six categories, Religion, Economy, Culture, Sports, Local and international News. It is encoded namely in UTF-8 encoding and XML. This silver corpus can be used as an accurate reference for validation and learning in the syntaxic analysis mainly for the word segmentation and part of speech tagging. Sign language is used by the hearing-impaired and inarticulate community to communicate with each other. But not all Sri Lankans are aware of the sign language or verbal languages and a translation is required. The Sri Lankan Sign Language is tightly bound to the hearing-impaired and inarticulate. The paper presents EasyTalk, a sign language translator which can translate Sri Lankan Sign Language into text and audio formats as well as translate verbal language into Sri Lankan Sign Language which would benefit them to express their ideas. This is handled in four separate components. The first component, Hand Gesture Detector captures hand signs using pre-trained models. Image Classifier component classifies and translates the detected hand signs. The Text and Voice Generator component produces a text or an audio formatted output for identified hand signs. Finally, Text to Sign Converter works on converting an entered English text back into the sign language based animated images. By using these techniques, EasyTalk can detect, translate and produce relevant outputs with superior accuracy. This can result in effective and efficient communication between the community with differently-abled people and the community with normal people.

Effective detection of faults in Biological processes is essential to observe the continuity of good functioning of the system under typical circumstances for ensuring safety. Therefore, the first objective of this paper is to develop a machine learning based Gaussian process regression (GPR) technique that can accurately model biological processes and compute the monitored residuals. The second objective is to apply a generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) to the evaluated residuals for fault detection purposes. The detection performance of the GPR-based GLRT is evaluated using a biological process representing a Cad System in E. Coli (CSEC) model. The GPR-based GLRT is used to enhance monitoring of the Cad System in E. coli process through monitoring some of the key variables involved in this process, such as enzymes, lysine, and cadaverine. © 2019 IEEE.

Based on deep learning, the early warning system for abnormal temperature of pigs can identify suspicious diseased pigs in advance, avoid group death and reduce the loss of a large number of diseases. It includes multi-domain cross-fusion, combining artificial intelligence machine vision image processing technology (CV), Internet of Things information technology (LOT), software engineering technology (STT), and traditional breeding technology (TFT). The CV technology is used for the hip identification and tracking of individual pigs. The LOT technology completes the real-time capture and monitoring of the body temperature of the individual pigs. The STT technology is used to send and receive network messages and implement an early warning system. Combining CV technology, LOT technology, STT technology and STT technology, a solution for automatic monitoring and real-time warning of the temperature measurement area of breeding pigs is proposed and implemented. The paper summarizes the technology used and details the design and implementation process of the system. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We have proposed a frequency reshaping and compensation scheme for FTN (Faster-Than-Nyquist) CAP (Carrierless Amplitude and Phase modulation) signal based on machine learning for the first time in this paper. The cascaded post equalizer consists of 2 stages. The first stage digital signal processing (DSP) is a Deep Neural Network (DNN), then LMS post-equalization is conducted as the second stage offline DSP. Through this method, we successfully demonstrated a data rate of 1.12Gbit/s FTN CAP 9QAM modulation over 1meter free space transmission with bit error rate (BER) below 7% FEC threshold of 3.8x10(-3). Compared to the traditional FTN CAP modulation without DNN, the proposed method would increase the data rate by approximately 100 Mbps, leading to an improvement of system capacity of 9.8%. The experimental results clearly validate the proposed cascaded two stage DNN-LMS (C2S DNN-LMS) can be a promising solution for future high speed VLC system.

This paper provides a new approach of executing the twin robot operation with the application of classical Q-learning and improved Q-learning algorithm. This approach has significantly less space and time requirement for execution of the algorithm As only the best Q-value with matched actions are stored for each state, the space requirement is reduced. Similarly, only the best matched state-action pairs with best Q-value are executed, it requires less amount of time for execution. On application of the classical and improved Q-learning in twin robot operation, the proposed algorithm takes the supremacy with respect to the space requirement and the traversal time.
