Toward the end of December 2019, the Government of China revealed a flare-up of a pneumonia-like ailment among individuals with an obscure wellspring of inception in Wuhan, Hubei Province with the capacity to spread from individual to individual with no physical contact. COVID-19 was identified as a possible cause for this disease. The World Health Organization realized the severity of this disease and declared it a public health emergency. The first case of COVID-19 in India was reported in late January 2020 and has been increasing ever since, with many casualties. Considering the severity of the disease and India being a developing country with a huge population, the government might face difficulty in testing if citizens get affected by this deadly virus. Our work aims at giving an approximate idea of whether a person is COVID positive or negative using the current statistics and integrating them through various machine learning models. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Osteoporosis is a systemic bone disease that characterized by an increase in bone fragility due to bone microstructure damage. Currently, osteoporosis is diagnosed clinically and confirmed by Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), which mainly depends on bone density and somehow being subjective. This study aimed to develop a deep learning method combined with bone tissue microstructure for the early diagnosis of osteoporosis. First, we applied Gabor filters to preprocess the raw osteoporotic MRI images in three scales and three directions for data augmentation. Second, we proposed a novel hybrid CNN-HKNN system which combines convolutional neural network (CNN) with k-local hyperplane distance nearest neighbour algorithm (HKNN) for osteoporotic MRI classification. Third, we introduced a transfer learning technique by pre-training the CNN model with the augmented dataset to improve the robustness of the proposed model. Experiments under 10-fold cross-validation showed accuracy of the system is 0.963, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was 0.980. In conclusion, the proposed method has an excellent ability to diagnose osteoporosis, which has certain clinical application prospects. © 2021 SPIE.

The field of AI is developing rapidly, as is the convergence of AI and educational disciplines. In the field of teacher training in colleges, how to use artificial intelligence, personalized to improve the teaching ability, scientific research ability of teachers in colleges and universities, has become a priority. This study explores how to construct a personalized training model for teachers in colleges Based on artificial intelligence platforms and personalized recommended algorithms, and measures the effectiveness of this model. At a university in China, there are 23 faculty for two-week teacher training based on the 'xtangx' AI platform, and the training process makes full use of both the AI platform and AI tools. The evaluation of training effectiveness was analyzed using a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that: (1) more than 95% of teachers believed that the use of AI platforms, can enhance the training effect. (2) Training was able to meet individualized learning needs with good overall satisfaction. The model provided in this study is meaningful for enhancing the advantages of talents training and scientific research in Colleges and universities, and promoting the application of artificial intelligence technology. © 2021 IEEE.

Photon counting detector obtains CT images from multiple energy bins, and acquires X-ray intensity data of different energy bins through one X-ray exposure. However, the spatial resolution of the reconstructed image will decrease, and the image will be blurred due to the low photon count in the narrow energy box width, quantum noise and the response problem of detector cells. Deep learning is gradually applied to medical images to reduce noise or improve resolution, which has exhibited promising performance in image super-resolution (SR) by learning a nonlinear mapping function from low-resolution (LR) images to high-resolution (HR) images. Inspired by the cycle-GAN, we propose a novel network model which realize the mapping of HR images to LR images for Dual-Energy CT (DECT) reconstruction. Experimental results show that the reconstructed image has significant improvements in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and root mean square error (RMSE). Compared with the traditional super-resolution reconstruction method, this method has better experimental results. © 2021 IEEE.

The signal lamp is affected by the haze weather conditions, and the color of the signal lamp image taken will be disturbed to a certain extent. Before color threshold segmentation, it is necessary to restore and enhance the color of the signal lamp to a certain extent, so as to ensure the accuracy and real-time performance of color segmentation and subsequent recognition. Retinex algorithm is an image enhancement theory based on human vision system. In recent years, it has been widely studied and applied. In this paper, SSR, MSR and MSRCR algorithms are introduced in detail, and these three methods are applied to haze traffic signal image enhancement. The experimental results of image processing are given, and the images have been enhanced to different degrees, and the experimental results are good. Traffic signal processing and recognition is one of the key technologies and difficulties of intelligent vehicle unmanned driving, so the research of this paper has important practical application value.

Earlier in 2019, a novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak occurred in most countries and regions of the world. Thus, judging whether individuals are wearing masks or not has become an important part of entrance inspection in many places. In this paper, object detection in Google Cloud Platform's AutoML is used to implement mask detection. 1, 000 from these 2, 000 pictures are selected to refine the dataset for training, including 500 faces with masks and 500 faces without masks. After training, the accuracy achieves 94% and the map achieves 97.3%, which can meet the requirements of practical application. What's more, tflite is used to deploy the model on the edge, to realize the application of the model in the real scenes. © 2021 SPIE.

In this paper, a predictive maintenance strategy is developed to enhance the fault identification of induction machines using the analysis of residual mechanical vibrations. Induction machines are the most widely adopted machines in many industrial environments, owing to their high robustness, simplicity and economic efficiency. Nevertheless, these machines are susceptible to both electrical and mechanical failures, including stator phase deficiencies, which may result in significant downtime and expensive maintenance charges. The approach developed is designed by combining FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and vibration signal analysis to detect faults at an early stage. The methodology has been validated by simulations performed with COMSOL Multiphysics. The results reveal a significant improvement over traditional maintenance methods based solely on vibration analysis in the early detection of failures, resulting in reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs.

The current mask wearing detection device is affected by numerous factors, such as the large number of people in complex scenes, the easy obstruction of the gathering crowd, and the small size of the inspection target, which are prone to false detections and missing inspections. In order to solve the above problems, this journal proposed a mask-wearing detection algorithm based on YOLOv5 to realize real-time detection in complex scenes. Firstly, perform Mosaic data enhancement and other processes on the data set. Then, apply Focus process to retain more complete down sampling information of the images for subsequent feature extraction. Later, employ SPP to integrate multi-scale information to achieve feature enhancement and retain spatial information within Neck. Finally, CIoU Loss function is selected s to improve the positioning accuracy. And during the training process, a dynamic adjustment strategy is adopted for the learning *** results show that the average accuracy of the improved algorithm reaches 99.1%. © 2021 IEEE.
