Research in Biomedicine is increasing rapidly day by day and the need for maintaining the biomedical literature is also a tedious task. Data Curators, Doctors, Scientific Researchers have a requirement of analyzing biomedical articles for Scientific discoveries and scholarly knowledge from this vast collection of data to take a proper prediction. biomedical data includes a collection of genes and protein related information and the mutations of the above which leads to diseases. this kind of hidden knowledge and relationships between above mentioned entities can be mined with proper preprocessing methods. this paper illustrates the comparison of various preprocessing methods used on biomedical data and the best combination of methods can be used for the retrieval of hidden intrinsic knowledge and patterns from biomedical Literature Data Sources.

this paper presents a new time-frequency based spike detection technique. As spikes are broadband events with high instantaneous energy, they tend to have a larger energy than the background at high frequencies. To detect spikes, the time-frequency distribution of the signal of interest is poundrst enhanced to attenuate the noise. Two frequency slices of the enhanced time-frequency distribution are then extracted and subjected to the smoothed nonlinear energy operator (SNEO). Finally, the output of the SNEO is thresholded to localise the position of the spikes in the signal. the SNEO is employed to accentuate the spike signature in the extracted frequency slices. A spike is considered to exist in the time domain signal if a signature of the spike is detected at the same position in both frequency slices. the performance of the proposed method is evaluated using both synthetic and newborn electroencephalogram (EEG) signals.

Withthe rapid development of high-throughput sequencing technology, biomedical research has entered into the era of big data. It causes problems about storage and analysis of massive biological data which need to be solved by high-performance computing. therefore, we build the localized high-performance one-stop data analysis platform to provide convenient and efficient computational analysis services for biomedical researchers. We deploy Galaxy and integrate software tools and datasets into Galaxy in computing cluster, build stable web service, FTP service and management database in order to optimize and improve the performance of Galaxy, and use distributed resource management application interface to collaborate Galaxy with Sun Grid Engine for automatically scheduling and assigning computing resources. Currently the platform has been put into trial operation. the peak performance is 10 Teraflops and the capacity of storage is 40TB. the platform provides many functions such as sequence alignment, short sequence mapping, gene annotation, transcriptome analysis, metagenomic analysis and phylogenetic analysis, and approximately 700GB reference databases including human genome, viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc..

Atomic level changes to a ligand can affect significantly how a drug interacts with a protein, which in turn can determine whether a pharmaceutical agent is effective in treating a disease. Designing and testing the effects of a new ligand is prohibitively expensive, and can take months - or even years - of laborious wet-lab work. To help guide researchers in understanding the effects of ligand variations, we have developed a computational pipeline that for a protein-ligand resolved PDB structure file, generates all possible ligand variants in silico, and analyze all of the protein-ligand complexes using a combinatorial rigidity analysis approach. We present several visualizations, and show that some atoms of ligands have an especially pronounced effect on the stability of the protein-ligand complex.
Association tests performed withthe Likelihood-Ratio Test (LR Test) can be an alternative to FST, which is often used in population genetics to find variants of interest. Because the LR Test has several properties th...
