In this article we present a learning resources recommendation system for an after-school educational mobile application. the goal of our system is to recommend relevant content among the learning resources available in the application to fit student needs and to encourage autonomous learning. the system is based on a graph of key notions to structure the application learning resources. We use the Item Response theory method to evaluate the student knowledge and filter the most relevant resources to study depending on three learning strategies: revision, continuation and deepening. the resources filtered by the selected strategy, are ranked mainly based on a pedagogical score. the system has been implemented for the Mathematics subject and analysed for middle and high-school students in real-life conditions. In Fall 2022, we recorded the learning traces of 4 670 students that interacted with the system. By analysing experts opinions, logs and students feedback, we can conclude that our system is pedagogically relevant, appreciated and used by students. Crop monitoring and phenology estimation based on the satellite systems have become an important research area due to high demand on crops. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a kind of microwave remote sensing equipment, which has the advantage of all-weather and all-day, and can realize large-scale and periodic crop phenological monitoring. Besides, thanks to the high temporal resolution of new generation space-based sensors, it has been possible to monitor growth cycle of crops by classification algorithms. A stacking ensemble learning algorithm using time series Sentinel-1A SAR images for winter wheat phenology classification was proposed in this paper based on multiple machine learning models, including Random Forest (RF), Support Vector machine (SVM), K-nearest Neighbor(K-NN), Naive Bayes (NB) and BP Neural Network (BP) models. the experimental results showed that, comparing with each single model, the stacking ensemble learning algorithm proposed in this paper had the optimal performance, with the highest overall recognition accuracy of 81.40%, demonstrating its effectiveness and application potential for winter wheat phenology identification. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. TB has been considered to be a major global health hazard. With regard to early meningitis tuberculosis identification, numerous studies and research have been conducted in recent years. the most serious form of tuberculosis is tuberculous meningitis (TBM), although it can be challenging to distinguish TBM from other meningitis. therefore, we reviewed papers related to machine learning models for identification and diagnosis of different forms of meningitis. In this review, the most recent research and methods for integrating medical data with machine learning models for diagnosis of meningitis and its respective outcomes are summarized. To achieve the best and most accurate results for detection and classification, authors have used a variety of strategies, beginning with preprocessing the data and partitioning the dataset into distinct training, validation, and test sets with varied ratios. this brings to attention that various machine learning tools and algorithms are useful in the analysis of medical data to diagnose meningitis. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) can not be directly applied in re-identification (ReID) tasks because multiple images may be associated with the same ID description in a batch, which is not applicable for instance contrastive learning in CLIP and brings performance degradation. Additionally, ReID data involves sensitive personal information. Data security and privacy protection mechanism is necessary for model training with multi-party ReID data. Federated learning facilitates collaborative training across multiple parties while preserving data privacy. However, when data is non-independent and non-identically distributed (non-IID), the performance of some clients may decrease. To address these challenges, a Personalized Fuzzy Federated Prompt Tuning method (PFFPT) is proposed in this paper for ReID. PFFPT constructs ID-specific learnable prompt tokens at each client, while the global server performs fuzzy federated clustering and dynamic weight aggregation based on local visual feature embeddings. Furthermore, an ID-contrastive Loss is proposed in local client training to tackle the ID-image matching issue. Comprehensive experiments were conducted on two vehicle ReID datasets and eight person ReID datasets. Compared to the traditional FedAVG, PFFPT achieved Rank-1 improvements of more than 10.87 and 10.48 on person ReID and vehicle ReID tasks, respectively, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently, facial attribute editing based on StyleGAN latent space has achieved great success, but it suffers from problems such as attribute entanglement and identity information loss in real facial attribute editing. To address these issues, this paper suggests utilizing an autoencoder network to extract the high-level identity information from the latent code, and then reconstruct the latent code following the incorporation of conditional semantic information. the embedded conditional semantic information aims to guide the autoencoder to achieve facial attribute editing. In the training process, reconstruction loss and conditional loss are introduced to constrain the autoencoder network, so that it can reconstruct the editing results that keep the identity information unchanged and meet the preset attribute change conditions. the experiments show that this method achieves facial attribute editing with no entanglement, controllability, and retention of identity features in real facial data. In several quantitative evaluation indicators, proposed method is better than the recent methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Human error-related traffic accidents result in an increasing number of fatalities and injuries worldwide each year. It has been determined that driving when fatigued is a major contributor to auto accidents. Growing weariness has been shown to impair driving performance, and the collisions that result from this impairment account for more than 20% of all motor accidents. the goal of the driver drowsiness detection system is to increase road safety by reducing the frequency of accidents caused by sleepy drivers. Accidents caused by tiredness have increased recently. Many facial expressions, such as fatigue in the eyes, can be used to detect drowsiness. the suggested device watches the driver's eyes and uses a webcam pointed directly at the driver's face to identify signs of fatigue. A warning signal is issued to the driver to alert them when drowsiness is detected. © 2023 IEEE.
