In this study, a new automatic municipal waste classification algorithm is proposed, which is named DSCR-Net. the study builds an open-source dataset with large sample size. the classification of the dataset is based on the Shanghai Municipal Household Waste Management Regulations, and it is the first open-source dataset to use this classification method. the new algorithm proposed by the study borrows from Inception-V4 and ResNet network, to facilitate migration, and some layers of the model have been adjusted. the new algorithm was optimized and tested on the dataset with a 94.38% accuracy rate. © 2020 ACM.

the task of generating semantically similar sentences can be reduced to the task of generating text and verifying that the generated text is semantically similar to the sample. this article describes all the main technical aspects of solving this problem, describes proposed solutions for the development of algorithmic, functional and software components of the application of identification and generation of semantically similar sentences. During the analysis of existing algorithms, the basic principles of operation of such algorithms were considered. Analogues were analyzed, namely the methods of semantic comparison of sentences, their advantages and disadvantages were determined. the methods that solve the problem are many, but they have some limitations, such as unreliability after slight changes to the text or paraphrase. this article describes the software implementation of the task. Different ways of semantic comparison and text generation are analyzed. Also, the system was tested for new data, that is, data that was not used to train the model.

Delay can be defined as the amount of extra time spent by a vehicle at an intersection. It is important to estimate vehicular delay as accurately as possible so that the efficiency of the intersection can be determined in terms of Level of Service (LOS). In general, researchers tend to opt either US-based HCM or UK based Webster's model to estimate the delay for Indian traffic conditions. As these models are designed for homogeneous and lane-based behavior, they tend to give erroneous results when applied for Indian road conditions. So, a model is developed to estimate the delay under heterogenous and no lane discipline conditions. As deep learning techniques provide high accuracy prediction, this paper is an attempt to estimate delay using Support Vector machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). In this study, video graphic survey is conducted to collect required parameters such as volume, signal timing, geometric features such as the number of lanes and approaches, the proportion of vehicles crossing in the green interval, platoon ratio and field delay is estimated by using HCM 2016 procedure. Two predictive models are formulated and compared to find out the best model which predicts the delay accurately. From the developed two models it can be concluded that ANN is the best fit model to estimate the delay at a signalized intersection as the R^2 (0.88) value is more when compared with R^2 (0.59) obtained from SVM Model. © 2020 IEEE.

A major challenge during the development of machine learning systems is the large number of models resulting from testing different model types, parameters, or feature subsets. the common approach of selecting the best model using one overall metric does not necessarily find the most suitable model for a given application, since it ignores the different effects of class confusions. Expert knowledge is key to evaluate, understand and compare model candidates and hence to control the training process. this paper addresses the research question of how we can support experts in the evaluation and selection of machine learning models, alongside the reasoning about them. ML-ModelExplorer is proposed – an explorative, interactive, and model-agnostic approach utilising confusion matrices. It enables machine learning and domain experts to conduct a thorough and efficient evaluation of multiple models by taking overall metrics, per-class errors, and individual class confusions into account. the approach is evaluated in a user-study and a real-world case study from football (soccer) data analytics is presented. Currently, it is obvious to the entire educational community that the goal of high-quality education cannot only be the acquisition of knowledge, since the information that we present to students quickly becomes outdated: what is indisputable today is refuted tomorrow by a new scientific theory or more accurate information. therefore, the task of the teacher is not just to transfer the amount of knowledge to the student, but to teach him to learn, to think. It is difficult to achieve this, but it is possible. To do this, we use the project method in our activities. the aim of the project offered to students is to develop their research skills (problem formulation, literature review, analysis, generalization) by researching and plotting a curve given by parametric equations or in polar coordinates. During the work on the project, the following tasks are solved: to interest students in higher mathematics, to develop students' creative abilities, to form communication skills and the ability to cooperate, to use the opportunity to study mathematical objects through any software. Groups of students (3-4 people) are offered projects for the study and construction of curves given by parametric equations or in polar coordinates. the work on the project consists of: literature review, research without the use of a derivative, research using a derivative, plotting, presentation and protection of the finished product. the ability to construct curves given by parametric equations or in polar coordinates will be useful not only when solving problems related to various applications of a define integral, but also with their extensive application in practical life, in particular in the manufacture of watches or in the design of bobsleigh tracks. the project method encourages students to self–development, self-expansion of their knowledge, creative application in practice in various fields of science and information and communication technologies.
