An Efficient Design of a machine learning-Based Elderly Fall Detector 4th

Elderly fall detection is an important health care application as falls represent the major reason of injuries. An efficient design of a machine learning-based wearable fall detection system is proposed in this paper. the proposed system depends only on a 3-axial accelerometer to capture the elderly motion. As the power consumption is proportional to the sampling frequency, the performance of the proposed fall detector is analyzed as a function of this frequency in order to determine the best trade-off between performance and power consumption. thanks to efficient extracted features, the proposed system achieves a sensitivity of 99.73% and a specificity of 97.7% using a 40 Hz sampling frequency notably outperforming reference algorithms when tested on a large dataset. © 2018, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Over the last years, mobile applications and their corresponding distribution platforms have gained momentum. applications stores allow users to write reviews and ratings about the apps, giving feedback to developers. User ratings and reviews may help to improve software quality, solve bugs and develop new features. However, this data is hard to be handled by an individual due to the ever growing amount of textual reviews. this paper proposes the use of cognitive computing technologies for addressing this challenge, by developing a smart agent able to mine bugs reports, feature suggestions and sentiment expressed in mobile app reviews. the main contributions of this paper are: the design of a cognitive agent for assisting developers in managing their interaction with their users, the application of machine learning algorithms for bug and feature request detection, and the agent implementation in a real scenario. © 2018 IEEE.

Analysis of data based on gene expressions characterizing serious disease is an area currently receiving high attention. the basic task is to classify patients, usually by searching for a small group of genes that provides sufficient classification power. However, very often, different gene combinations can describe different aspects of the problem being analyzed. In this paper, we present in a concrete example with one real dataset, a methodology that has repeatedly been successfully applied to different types of data. In addition to common statistical methods, this methodology combines methods such as a visualization of a dataset structure using networks, and feature-selection and neural network classification. the output of the application of the methodology is a system for decision support during the reoperation of patients with joint endoprosthesis. © 2018, Springer international Publishing AG.

the paper describes the process of creating the Internet of things (IoT) healthcare applications and selecting an environment to deploy it. Based on research of healthcare application architecture was proposed selecting of cloud service. It draws our attention to complex architecture with using different sources of medical data like external medical databases, medical equipment and wearable medical and non-medical devices. Much attention is given to using machine learning in the process in the detection of health problems. In addition, the paper describes two levels of machine learning: one for detecting single problems with heals and second for predictions complex reports and providing treatment plan based on data from the first level. the main emphasis in choosing of cloud service is made on scalability and the ability to create multiple neural networks for processing data.
