this paper presents the MLAB project, a research and development activity funded by ESA General Support Technology Programme under the lead of Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, with the goal of developing a machine learning application benchmark for space applications. First, the need for a benchmark dedicated to machine learning applications in spacecraft is explained, and examples of applications are described including their design challenges. then the benchmark design is presented, including the rules of the metrics, guidelines and scenarios for references. these scenarios include a description of the reference workloads that have been selected during the activity as representative for spacecraft applications. Lastly, the submission concept is introduced. © 2023 Owner/Author.

the use of computer-based intelligence in business applications is growing. there have been numerous arrangements previously executed, and numerous more are being discovered. the global financial crisis has heightened the significance of risk management in banks, and there has been a persistent emphasis on how risks are perceived, evaluated, and taken. For the most part, the industry has concentrated on the improvement in financial bets and current difficulties. this paper has shown that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the administration of banking risk, grocery store risk, check card risk, and cash risk has been found. In any case, it doesn't appear to have much to do with the ongoing business sector-level discussions centered on both executive gambling and artificial intelligence. In different regions of bank risk, executives might see a significant advantage from an investigation of how, at any point, AI can be applied to individual issues. © 2023 IEEE.

Network security is a major concern of the modern era. With the rapid development and massive usage of computer networks over the past decade, the vulnerabilities of network systems continue to be of significant concern. Intrusion detection systems are used to monitor networks and identify unauthorized access or malicious traffic over secured networks. the application of machine learning algorithms to the intrusion detection domain could enhance such systems. this paper presents a comparative analysis of selected machine learning algorithms for network intrusion detection. the CICIDS 2017 dataset provided the necessary dataset for training the models. Results show that of all six considered, Decision Tree classifier was the overall best.

Sorghum, a major global crop, is prominently produced in Sudan, ranking among the top sorghum producers globally. this production is concentrated in El-Gadarif State, covering about 78,228 square kilometers, and relies heavily on both irrigated and rain-fed cultivation, particularly of dry sorghum. the unpredictable and sparse nature of rainfall in this region underscores the critical need for accurate forecasting to optimize crop yield. Addressing this, the study introduces a machine learning-based prediction system that utilizes historical rainfall and yield data from 1943 to 2021. the research focuses on developing and evaluating neural network architectures, employing multi-layer perceptrons (MLP) and XGBoost regressor models. Notably, the XGBoost regressor outperforms the MLP regressor, displaying a significantly higher accuracy with an R2 value of 0.87 compared to 0.25. this highlights the crucial role of meticulous model calibration and selection. Importantly, the superiority of the XGBoost regressor becomes particularly evident in scenarios with limited data and is further emphasized after extensive calibration efforts. © 2023 IEEE.

Indoor Positioning System has emerged as an intriguing application in the field of computer networks and IoT. Due to the growth of wireless technology and increment in the number of devices connected with the internet, it has become a paramount to make the proficient applications of computer networks using machine learning and deep learning. Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to navigate and locate places in an outdoor environment but it cannot be used for indoor positioning as GPS signals cannot propagate through walls. Location based services are prone to challenges like non line of sight, attenuation, high complexity, unreliability, adaptability and scalability issue. these challenges are resolved by a variety of machine learning techniques. the Indoor Positioning System uses indoor localization schemes to develop indoor mapping and tracing. We perform Indoor localization in wireless systems using Wi-Fi fingerprinting in which the RSSI data of about 200 Wi-Fi Access Points (WAP) is worked upon to find the definite locations and movements. the Wi-Fi Fingerprinting works in two phases namely offline and online phase. this study aims to provide floor and room classification of an indoor environment. the paper focusses on 3 machine learning algorithms for the floor and room prediction namely Support Vector machine, K Nearest Neighbor and Random Forest Classifier using accuracy and F1-macro as the judging metrics. It is observed that the best model for room prediction on the basis of accuracy is random forest with a score of 0.84 and on the basis of F1-macro K nearest neighbor with a score of 0.80. the more preferable model for floor prediction on the basis of accuracy is random Forest with a score of 0.99 and on the basis of F1 Macro Support Vector with a score of 0.99. © 2024 IEEE.

Component platforms are widely used in developing large web and mobile applications to improve development efficiency and test coverage. Searching for the appropriate component in the component platform and introducing it into the project for use makes development efficient and reduces redundant code. machine learning methods are now widely used in large component platforms to enhance automatic retrieval or identification. However, current machine learning models are less accurate in identifying components or icons with differences due to the difficulty of collecting a large amount of label data in online environments that can help learning. To address this problem, this paper improves the feature mixing method in active learning and embeds it into a classical continuous learning model to solve the problem of accuracy degradation when the model handles discrepant tasks and tasks with limited training data. the model proposed in this paper ensures that the accuracy and performance of the model do not degrade significantly when facing a series of tasks with less data in the dataset after training on the first few tasks. Compared with large neural network recognition tasks, the improved continuous learning model is more lightweight and can learn multiple tasks using a single model. Easy to use when combined with front-end engineering and can be added to projects through dependency libraries. Compared to various classical benchmark models in continual learning, the accuracy of the proposed model can be improved by about fifteen percent. © 2023 ACM.

At present, in the era of increasingly updated digital tools and resources, the effective design and implementation of learning systems is the key to improving the quality of learning services. the purpose of this paper is to obtain the comprehensive and objective real needs of users through the existing user learning data, make full use of the real-time user online behavior data to obtain the real 'ideas' and potential needs of users, and then design the next stage learning system suitable for the designated users. First of all, the article transforms user characteristics into data that can be designed and calculated by collecting information such as behavior big data, and learner information and mapping the relationship between system measurement indicators. then, the ARIMA time series prediction algorithm is used to predict the user's learning content in the next stage by collecting and calculating the user's characteristics based on the user's historical behavior data. Finally, through the prediction of the user's behavior, complete the design of the user's next stage learning system as a data-driven learning system with output results, and carry out case practice. the research shows that the system calculated and iterated by the ARIMA algorithm has been significantly improved in terms of software efficiency and other aspects, and the data-driven learning system design framework has a significant role in improving the overall needs of users and learning efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem of smart grid data asset registration, this paper proposes a smart grid data asset registration system based on blockchain. the system uses the decentralization and immutable characteristics of blockchain to achieve the digital management of devices and assets in the smart grid, and uses smart contracts to encrypt and authenticate the data to ensure that the data is real and reliable. At the same time, the system can incorporate data asset registration into the scope of smart grid management, forming a complete data asset management system. In this paper, the blockchain technology is briefly introduced, and then the framework of smart grid data asset registration system based on blockchain is proposed, and its feasibility is analyzed. Finally, the paper introduces the application of smart grid data asset registration system based on blockchain technology in a provincial power grid company. © 2024 the Authors.

Lapped column transition is a novel structural form. In lapped column transition structures, the reinforcement at the lapped column nodes is generally dense, which is highly unfavorable for construction operations. Even if construction operations are carried out, it is difficult to guarantee the construction quality and mechanical performance of the nodes. To address this issue, taking a practical engineering project as an example, a comprehensive optimization of the reinforcement layout in lapped columns is conducted using BIM (Building Information Modeling) and FEM (Finite Element Method) technologies. the research results demonstrate that BIM technology can effectively and rapidly optimize the reinforcement layout in lapped columns, resulting in a layout that is more conducive to on-site construction and can effectively ensure construction quality. FEM technology can effectively perform mechanical performance calculations on the optimized lapped columns, with the mechanical performance of the optimized lapped columns being basically unchanged and still meeting the requirements of engineering structural mechanics. © 2024 the Authors.
