Praxeme is an enterprise methodology that allows you to master the complexity of a system through the principle of separating the concerns of the enterprise into a homogeneous whole called `aspects'. the use of eLEL (elaborate Lexicon Extended Language) is interesting to specify the intentional aspect of Praxeme since all the information that makes up the logical services of this methodology is described in eLEL. Consequently, the automatic localization of the logical service from eLEL at the time of logical modeling becomes obvious. However, the resulting logical services cannot be used as code skeletons for an object-oriented application. We thought that ReLEL was a terminology database that contained all the specific terms used by the company. therefore our strategy in this article focuses on the automatic generation of software component of the Praxeme methodology from the intentional aspect represented by ReLEL. To achieve this, we have proposed rules allowing to automatically translate according to the model-to-text approach of the MDA framework the logical components obtained from ReLEL into software components while taking into account the technical aspect of the Praxeme methodology. However to validate our approach, we measured the coupling and cohesion for the UML class diagram out of Java class generated from the approach proposed in this paper using the slicing technique. the result indicates a weak coupling and a strong cohesion allowing to deduce that the approach proposed in this paper makes it possible to produce a more reliable and efficient system.

this paper presents the design of a simple context-oriented programming extension to Emfrp, a purely functional reactive programming language for resource-constrained embedded systems. the language provides declarative and straightforward ways to describe various reactive behaviors in embedded systems. However, because of the static nature of the language, Emfrp lacks suitable capabilities to modularize adaptive behaviors. the proposed extension introduces a simple layer mechanism with implicit layer activation. It also provides a feature to describe responses to events that correspond to the moments of layer activations and deactivations. the extension can improve the modularity of Emfrp programs by separating the descriptions of context-dependent behaviors, and hence eliminating various cross-cutting code fragments. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

this paper presents and discusses the Compose With Sounds (CwS) Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and its approach to sequencing musical materials. the system is designed to facilitate the composition within the realm of Sound-based music [1] wherein sound objects (real or synthesised) are main musical unit of construction over traditional musical notes. Unlike traditional DAW's or graphical audio programming environments (such as Pure Data, Max MSP etc.) that are based around interactions with sonic materials within tracks or audio graphs, the implementation presented here is based solely around sound objects. To achieve this a bespoke cross-platform audio engine known FSOM (Free Sound object Mixer [2]) was created in C++. To enhance the learning experience, imagery, dynamic 3D animations and models are used to allow for efficient exploration and learning. All tools within the system are controlled by a flexible permissions system that allows users or workshop leaders to create sessions with specific features based on their requirements. the system is part of a suite of pedagogical tools currently in development for the creation of experimental electronic music. Two or more incompatible versions of a library are sometimes needed in one software artifact, which is so-called dependency hell. One likely faces the problem if he or she uses two or more libraries that depend on the same library. In this paper, we propose versioned values to solve the problem. they allow us to have multiple versions of functions in a binary file. this gets rid of requiring two or more incompatible binaries. We develop a calculus λVL to discuss type safety in the case where definitions are available only in specific versions, which is a common and important nature of versioned programs. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Smart contracts formalize and automate interactions among and between individuals and systems in an executable and decentralized way. they are analogous to objects in object-oriented programming, but their behavior and state is replicated across multiple participants in a network and messages sent to the "object" are relayed to all network participants, allowing everyone to keep its replica up-todate. Originally introduced in the mid-1990s, their recent surge in popularity is linked to a rising interest in blockchain-backed, general-purpose smart contract platforms. Manging contract-specific state and behavior associated with the interacting parties and shared objects is a modularity challenge in smart contracts. Each contract has individual requirements for the (non-contract) objects it interacts with. We observed that smart contracts tend to manage object-specific state and behavior itself, often leading to a single monolithic mediator. We aim at improving encapsulation and separation of concerns by allowing programmers to modularly express instance-specific state and behavior within the scope of a so called Activity Context. Activity Contexts are an extension to objects that collect these modular adaptations and jointly overlay them over instances that participate in the activity modeled by the smart contract. We demonstrate the benefits of Activity Contexts by refactoring an exemplary smart contract and discuss their trade-offs compared to traditional object-oriented decomposition and their integration into an existing layer-based context-oriented ecosystem. © 2018 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Cross-cutting concerns are an inherent property of the implementation of non-trivial software systems. their study led to the development of advanced modularity constructs, usually supported by meta-level frameworks and programming language constructs, to improve comprehensibility. Because of their invasive nature, systems need to be refactored or rewritten to take advantage of these constructs. However, practical considerations such as organizational or economical constraints often do not allow for such reengineering efforts, leaving those systems without explicit representations of their cross-cutting concerns. We propose a lightweight, non-invasive approach to explicate and document cross-cutting, multi-party concerns called Crosscutting Commentary, or Commentary for short. Our proposal is based on the observation that comments are co-located with the individual semantic units they are about and with that scattered and tangled in the absence of advanced modularity constructs for crosscutting concerns and the assumption that well-crafted, informal explanations of system properties (their intents and the mechanisms they provide) improve comprehensibility. Commentaries are to help communicate narratives about system properties that involve multiple participants, both co-located in a single module or crosscutting several of them, and allow for navigating to, from, and between them to explore the implementation artifacts involved. Commentary was inspired by layers introduced with Contextoriented programming to associate and manage partial definitions of system elements. While layers contribute to system comprehension during development and software composition at run-time, Commentary focuses on narratives for system exploration. We present our first attempt to provide Commentaries in Squeak/Smalltalk. We explain implementation details and discuss several application scenarios considering the documentation of basic mechanisms of this programming and runtime environment

the problem of the video monitoring the laboratory rats by the means of the object-oriented logic programming is considered. the main task of the video monitoring is the analysis of the behavior of the animals in cognitive testing. An essential feature of the video records is in that the experiments are conducted in the same cage where the animal lives, that is, the background of the cage is sawdust. the color of the animals is about the same as the color of the sawdust;thus the detection of the animals is not a simple task. An additional difficulty is in that the videos were recorded simultaneously with electroencephalograms (EEG) in the animals;thus the head of the rat is connected with EEG cable that moves and causes false detections of recognition algorithms. In the paper, development of low-level algorithms for video analysis as well as logical methods for the analysis of the animal behavior is discussed. the methods and algorithms are implemented in the Actor Prolog object-oriented logic language. © 2018 CEUR-WS. Reference immutability type systems such as Javari and ReIm ensure that a given reference cannot be used to mutate the referenced object. these systems are conservative in the sense that a mutable reference may be mutable due to approximation. In this paper, we present ReM (for definite Re[ference] M[utability]). It separates mutable references into (1) definitely mutable, and (2) maybe mutable, i.e., references whose mutability is due to inherent approximation. In addition, we propose a CFL-reachability system for reference immutability, and prove that it is equivalent to ReIm/ReM, thus building a novel framework for reasoning about correctness of reference immutability type systems. We have implemented ReM and applied it on a large benchmark suite. Our results show that approximately 86.5% of all mutable references are definitely mutable. © Ana Milanova.

Recent years have seen great progress in automated synthesis techniques that can automatically generate code based on some intent expressed by the programmer, but communicating this intent remains a major challenge. When the expressed intent is coarse-grained (for example, restriction on the expected type of an expression), the synthesizer often produces a long list of results for the programmer to choose from, shifting the heavy-lifting to the user. An alternative approach, successfully used in end-user synthesis, is programming by example (PBE), where the user leverages examples to interactively and iteratively refine the intent. However, using only examples is not expressive enough for programmers, who can observe the generated program and refine the intent by directly relating to parts of the generated program. We present a novel approach to interacting with a synthesizer using a granular interaction model. Our approach employs a rich interaction model where (i) the synthesizer decorates a candidate program with debug information that assists in understanding the program and identifying good or bad parts, and (ii) the user is allowed to provide feedback not only on the expected output of a program but also on the program itself. After identifying a program as (partially) correct or incorrect, the user can also explicitly indicate the good or bad parts, to allow the synthesizer to accept or discard parts of the program instead of discarding the program as a whole. We show the value of our approach in a controlled user study. Our study shows that participants have a strong preference for granular feedback instead of examples and can provide granular feedback much faster.
