Heterogeneous collaborative computing with NPU and CPU has received widespread attention due to its substantial performance benefits. To ensure data confidentiality and integrity during computing, Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) is considered a promising solution because of its comparatively lower overhead. However, existing heterogeneous TEE designs are inefficient for collaborative computing due to fine and different memory granularities between CPU and NPU. 1) the cacheline granularity of CPU TEE intensifies memory pressure due to its extra memory access, and 2) the cacheline granularity MAC of NPU escalates the pressure on the limited memory storage. 3) data transfer across heterogeneous enclaves relies on the transit of non-secure regions, resulting in cumbersome re-encryption and *** address these issues, we propose TensorTEE, a unified tensor-granularity heterogeneous TEE for efficient secure collaborative tensor computing. First, we virtually support tensor granularity in CPU TEE to eliminate the off-chip metadata access by detecting and maintaining tensor structures on-chip. Second, we propose tensor-granularity MAC management with predictive execution to avoid computational stalls while eliminating off-chip MAC storage and access. Moreover, based on the unified granularity, we enable direct data transfer without re-encryption and scheduling dilemmas. Our evaluation is built on enhanced Gem5 and a cycle-accurate NPU simulator. the results show that TensorTEE improves the performance of Large Language Model (LLM) training workloads by 4.0x compared to existing work and incurs only 2.1% overhead compared to non-secure training, offering a practical security assurance for LLM training.

Organosolv lignin, a natural cross-linked phenolic wood polymer is a by-product of the pulping process in the paper industry. It is a renewable organic natural product with potential application in many areas. It has attractive properties that make it a potential candidate for fabricating useful parts using 3d printing. Also, polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable sources is widely used in 3d printing polymer parts. this work seeks to study the technical viability of extruding different blends of PLA and organosolv lignin into filaments for 3d printing useful objects. Filament extrusions using different blends were evaluated. Also, the mechanical properties of printed test samples are presented. 3d printing technologies have a direct impact on manufacturing the composite structures and in particularly fabrication of molds. Molds produced through additive manufacturing methods would greatly improve product features. the material selection and process conditions involved for producing mold tooling, mainly towards Automated fiber placement (AFP) work cells. In this study, the main objective is to improve the design and fabrication of composite parts through complex molds as well as to assess and improve the production workflow through the development of an effective design environment for the existing fiber placement operation. Chemical materials are useful but sometimes hazardous, which requires strict regulation from the government. However, due to the potential economic benefits, many illegal hazardous chemical facilities are running underground, which poses a significant public safety threat. However, the traditional solutions, e.g., on-field screening and the anonymous tip-offs, involve a lot of human efforts. In this paper, we propose a ubiquitous approach called ICFinder to detecting illegal chemical facilities with chemical transportation trajectories. We first generate candidate locations by clustering stay points extracted from trajectories, and filter out known locations. then, we rank those locations in suspicion order by modeling whether it has the loading/unloading events. ICFinder is evaluated over the real-world dataset from Nantong in China, and the deployed system identified 20 illegal chemical facilities in 3 months. © 2021 acm.

the current development of chemical-heat treatment technologies is aimed at increasing the utility properties of components and improving the quality of the produced surface. A prerequisite for a quality produced surface is the selection of a suitable method of surface machining before the application of chemical-heat treatment technology. due to the requirements for functional areas of special technology, grinding is chosen in most cases. the present paper deals with the effect of nitriding in plasma and gas on the geometric accuracy of parts made of 42CrMo4 steel. this steel is widely used in special technology for the production of barrels, breech-block cases, ball screws and gears. On the ground steel samples, the 3d measurement on the coordinate measuring machine analyzed the change of dimensions after the application of nitriding in plasma and gas. Furthermore, the surface texture change was evaluated using 2d surface roughness parameters and 3d parameters of area. After nitriding in both plasma and gas, the dimensions increased by 0.034 mm in diameter. After the nitriding processes, the values of 2d and 3d surface roughness parameters decreased. A change in surface texture was observed when evaluating 3d parameters in both chemical-heat treatment processes. Increasing the dimensions and changing the texture of the surface affects the subsequent function of the components.

Additive manufacturing is revolutionizing the way we build and produce a plethora of products spanning many industries. It has shown strong potential in reduced energy use, sustainability and cost effectiveness. Exploring avenues that this technology can be utilized is key to improve productivity and efficiencies in various applications including electronic systems and devices manufacturing. Electronic systems and sub-systems are built using a variety of material and processes, which require a large carbon footprint, significant waste material and high production time. We propose the application of 3d printing technology to support an integrative process for combining circuit board fabrication, solder mask process, electronic component pick and place and enclosure manufacturing. the integration of these separate processes into a single high efficiency additive manufacturing process will yield significant savings in energy use, carbon footprint, waste product and production time and cost. © Solid Freeform Fabrication 2018: proceedings of the 29th Annual international Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium - An Additive Manufacturing conference, SFF 2018. digital light processing (dLP) 3d printing can be used for manufacturing complex structures using a variety of materials, which would be nearly impossible using traditional manufacturing methods. Recent work at Sandia National Laboratories uses dLP technology for additive manufacturing of complex alumina structures, using photocurable resins loaded with micron or submicron alumina particles. these resins are printed using a dLP 3d printer to produce a "green part." the work presented here will discuss the mechanical challenges associated with printing alumina using commercially available dLP and stereolithography 3d printers, including the design of a custom dLP 3d printer to address identified mechanical challenges, thereby leading to improved print versatility and quality. © Solid Freeform Fabrication 2018: proceedings of the 29th Annual international Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium - An Additive Manufacturing conference, SFF 2018. A scoping review of the literature relating to the development of a production network maturity mapping framework for advanced manufacturing technology capabilities: the case for cemented tungsten carbides. Cemented tungsten carbide possesses diamond-like hardness and excellent heat resistance, making it an ideal candidate for a wide range of cutting and drilling applications. the successful adoption of additive manufacturing within the realm of cemented tungsten carbides could streamline the production process and be highly beneficial within multiple industries. However, a wide range of capabilities and innovation capacities are required to support the development and adoption of such innovations. design problems, cost implications, human resource requirements and supply network adaptions must all be considered, as well as their possible influence on supporting technologies. A scoping review is done to identify literature most relevant to the research topic. the review attempts to provide a systematic approach and structure to the analysis of the literature in order to increase the repeatability of such a study while decreasing the variability associated with such a study. the logic behind the review steps is explained to substantiate the relevance of the chosen literature. In this review certain pre-determined research questions are answered. the topics of maturity models and hardmetal 3d printing technologies are addressed, and the fusion of these topics is explored. this exploration led to the identification of a gap within the literature of maturity frameworks for 3d printed cemented tungsten carbide. the performance of cutting tool materials (CTMs) influences the quality and lifetime of parts produced with their help. Unexpected fracturing or other failures of the tools lead to defects of parts that exaggerate materials fatigue and fracture processes. For the purpose of Industry 4 and future generations of factories it is important to enable in-situ monitoring of cutting processes while hyperspectral imaging can serve as a powerful tool. Cubic boron nitride (cBN) has extreme hardness and can provide improved wear resistance if mixed with other CTMs. Besides, such materials can be used without cooling liquids that helps to mitigate workplace health risks. the aim of the current work was to understand how well current hyperspectral imaging technologies can track the changes in performance of CTMs with addition of cBN. the paper presents the results of multiple in-situ (obtained during cutting with real lathe) and static (before or after cutting) tests performed with hyperspectral camera. the wear rate of CTMs and roughness of workpieces were measured with the help of scanning electron microscope and 3d optical profiler respectively. the effect of cBN content and effect of TiN or ZrO2 additives on performance of alumina-based CTMs produced by spark plasma sintering technique is presented. © 2021 dAAAM international. Additive manufacturing has been described as a novel, disruptive technology that will revolutionise the way almost all products will be manufactured and produced. Policies are therefore required to facilitate and guide the maturing of this technology to ensure that it is beneficial to everyone and that the misuse of this technology is mitigated. this scoping review explores additive manufacturing policies that have been developed by identifying the scope of available literature applicable to additive manufacturing policies, summarising the environments where the need for policies have been investigated and identifying the main concerns these studies have highlighted. It was found that relevant studies have thus far focused either on analysing existing additive manufacturing policies or on environments where policies are still required. the findings of this study contribute to the understanding of additive manufacturing policies and assists in framing future research to advance policy development. © 2020 Towards the digital World and Industry X.0 - proceedings of the 29th international conference of the international Association for Management of technology, IAMOT 2020.
