Facial expression recognition is a critical area of computer vision research in the current era. In order to improve the performance of the existing system, many researchers have used handcrafted features and machine learning (ML) classification methods. However, machine learning performs well on large data sets, whereas the handcrafted system performs well on datasets captured under predefined conditions. The ML method will not perform well on small datasets like CK+ and JAFFE due to overfitting. We propose a genetic algorithm (GA) optimization architecture based on fuzzy C-means clustering (GAO-FCM) to address these problems. To identify and recognize facial expressions quickly, accurately, and reliably, the proposed GAO-FCM organizes several characteristics of individual facial expressions. In the Japanese Female Facial Expression (JAFFE) dataset as well as in the Extended Cohn-Kanade (CK+) dataset, face detection and pre-processing techniques are explored in order to achieve the best accuracy of 99.23% for CK+ and 96.31 % for JAFFE datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

The rise in popularity of online platforms like social media, search engine optimisation, and email has propelled a field of Sentiment Analysis, which seeks to decipher an underlying meaning of a text, to the forefront of global discourse. In order to do sentiment analysis on Amazon product evaluations, this article presents a comparison examination of several machine learning algorithms. SVM, DT, RFC, CNN, and LSTM models will be the primary targets of their investigation. Research using sentiment analysis involves customers who are aware of how a product makes them feel. The data collection utilised is a Kaggle of product reviews from Amazon. It turns out that the LSTM ML algorithm is the most accurate of all the ones that were tried. The results show the LSTM model shows a higher accuracy of 97%, in comparison to other models. Research like this improves both the decision-making process and the online buying experience by shedding light on customer opinion. © 2024 IEEE.

The coverage path planning problem aims to find a route that can avoid all obstacles and pass through all points in the region of interest. In this article, we propose a method for solving path coverage of robots in pedestrian scenes. Firstly, this method can select the optimal coverage path between the roadside trees on the sidewalk based on the performance of the robot. Secondly, the proposed method greatly improves the efficiency of path generation in curved scenes, without generating too many turning paths due to too many vertices in the bends. Finally, the optimal path connection method and pruning method were proposed. Our planner achieved an average 27% lower path cost than the improved traditional coverage planner. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent times, the automotive industry has made significant steps towards digitization by focusing on electronic cockpits (E-Cockpits) to enhance the driving experience, comfort and safety. Substation automation technology as one of the hot areas in the power industry, from the initial RTU remote device and unitary microcomputer protection and measurement and control equipment, to the current integrated intelligent equipment operation and inspection program, its automation level has been gradually improved with the in-depth research of various disciplines. Traditional inspection requires system training for employees resulting in high costs, while in the rainy and snowy weather and China's extreme cold areas of manual inspection there is a high degree of uncertainty, the traditional manual inspection has been unable to meet the growing demand for all types of inspection of substations. Therefore, there is a growing demand for the use of inspection robots instead of manual inspection. The substation to be inspected by the autonomous inspection robot of power system described in this thesis is located in Yunnan area and is suitable for indoor inspection of substations of 100kV and above. In order to meet the needs of the inspection task, the functions of various types of instrument identification, temperature and appearance monitoring of power equipment are completed based on the realization of 3D laser SLAM, completion of dynamic obstacle removal and indoor and outdoor repositioning. © 2023 SPIE.

The act of concealing data within a different message or object in order to avoid detection is referred to as steganography. Steganography can hide various types of digital content such as text, images, audio, and video. Upon arrival, the hidden information is subsequently exposed. Employing a form of steganography called QR Image Steganography, in which a secret message is encoded into a QR code and subsequently hidden within an image to provide effective and efficient security. To safeguard the secret communication, encoding is carried out on the sender's end, and decoding is done on the recipient's end. This paper is focused on the idea that, in order to maintain confidentiality and prevent a third party from spotting the hidden message in the stegano image, the cover image should not be significantly altered when concealing the QR code containing the secret message. Additionally, the PSNR values of the cover picture and the stegano image were used to verify this;they were fairly high, showing that the cover image had slight distortion. In order to determine the pixel value change where the distortion is not apparent, the sample histograms of the cover and stegano picture were also plotted. © 2024 IEEE.

The traditional parallel structure platform was improved, and the general structure of the parallel legged biped robot was constructed by using SolidWorks. Taking it as the research object, the parallel structure and its degree of freedom analysis were described in detail. The space Cartesian coordinate system is established on the structure model of the robot, and then the inverse solution equation of the parallel mechanism is derived based on the position relationship of the parallel mechanism. On this basis, the solution process of the forward kinematic position solution based on the discrete Newton iteration method is given. Finally, the control system of the parallel legged biped robot is designed. Visual Studio software and QT software are used to write the program and design the control interface. Finally, conduct a sine wave test to verify the accuracy of the experimental testing. © 2023 IEEE.

The application of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology in manned space mission can improve the safety of astronauts and the reliability of space operation. The BCI technology for manned space mission is introduced firstly, and then the application of BCI technology in manned space mission such as the control of astronauts' living environment, the rapid response of astronauts' emergency system, the flexible control of space manipulator, the remote operation and emergency maintenance of space robots is given. Then key technologies of BCI in manned space engineering such as Non-invasive EEG signal acquisition and recognition of astronauts, efficient transmission of brain-computer signals in space mission, high- precision control of BCI, Rapid feedback of BCI in spacecraft engineering is discussed. And the Impact of space environment on BCI hardware and software for space engineering is analyzed. At last, future development directions of BCI technology for manned space Mission is proposed. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of MOOC platforms, course recommendation has become a focal point in the research field of recommendations. Effectively modeling user preferences is a crucial task within this context. Despite the notable achievements of reinforcement learning methods in simulating user preferences, there are still existing issues with current approaches. This paper introduces a hierarchical reinforcement learning method based on deep interest networks. By incorporating an adaptive weighting unit to represent the correlation between the current course and historical courses, the method aims to better simulate user preferences. Experimental results on two real datasets demonstrate the superiority of our approach over baseline methods, and it exhibits strong generalization in other recommendation domains. © 2023 IEEE.

Over the last few decades, there has been a shift of focus in urban planning in which artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated to make informed decisions and predictions through modelling and simulation. Among all AI applications, computer vision (CV) plays a crucial task because of the role of visual data in the field of urban planning. Application of CV like object detection specifically roof detection has been very useful for the data collection and interpretation process of urban planning. At the top of this technology is the YOLO model which is an object detection model optimized to accurately detect objects based on the dataset trained within it. This research utilized a YOLOv4 model to detect roofs based on Google Earth satellite images. A total of 500 ground truth images were extracted across different regions of the Philippines and were annotated using computer vision Annotation Tool (CVAT) which were then pre-processed and augmented resulting to a total of 4,802 images. Using a custom dataset, the YOLOv4 model demonstrated superior performance with a mean average precision (mAP) of 92%, outperforming alternatives such as Single Shot Detection (SSD) MobileNet and Detectron 2 Faster R-CNN, which achieved maximum mAP values of 83% and 79%, respectively. This highlights YOLOv4's accuracy in roof detection from Google Earth satellite images and proving its potential in urban planning applications. © 2023 IEEE.
