This paper considers the application of the least-squares method to calculate polynomial approximation coefficients for the relative spectral sensitivity curves of 'light-signal' matrices. The obtained coefficients were used to calculate the radiation utilization factors for the color components R, G, and B. The obtained results showed the interdependence between the color temperature of the radiation sources and the quality of the digital images formed. The calculations were performed for industrial video cameras of SSP-MVCA series. It is intended to use the results obtained to design lighting systems for mines and mine workings. Directions for further research in the field of technical vision in the mining industry are indicated, concerning quantitative indicators of the quality of imaging devices and shooting conditions, such as illumination and sensitivity. An analysis of video cameras main characteristics was carried out, taking into account the peculiarities of filming in the production process and the selection conditions of the optimal mode of the video camera operation. The dependencies for calculating the quantitative characteristics of video cameras for video surveillance in mines have been clarified. © 2024 IEEE.

EtherCAT field bus is a widespread technology when it comes to robotic systems with high real-time performance requirements. In some implementations, such as medical equipment for computed tomography or remote radiation therapy, it can be convenient to deploy the EtherCAT master for motion control on a personal computer along with other drivers, software packages and user interface. The commercial product Beckhoff TwinCAT software could be an option in this situation, however it's not safe to use it as it can be a subject to political sanctions restricting to supply it to many countries, as already happened with Russia. The paper aims to find a solution for building a platform for a personal computer based EtherCAT master development. The preference is given to open source software components rather than freely distributable or software packages from reliable suppliers. The proposed solution is based on an open-source Ubuntu operating system with a patched core to ensure real-time support. For implementing EtherCAT master open-source EtherCAT master is chosen. For developing the web-application for web-based human machine interface CppCMS open-source web application framework is used. The results showed the proposed platform is capable of replacing TwinCAT for medical installations with EtherCAT cycle frequency up to 1 kHz. © 2024 IEEE.

Distracted driving is a leading cause of traffic accidents, making real-time driver behavior prediction crucial for road safety. Leveraging deep learning, this study explores three efficient models-MobileNetV2, InceptionV3, and ResNet50V2-known for their strong performance and low computational cost in computer vision tasks. MobileNetV2's lightweight architecture is ideal for mobile applications, while InceptionV3 efficiently extracts features, and ResNet50V2 addresses the vanishing gradient problem in deep networks. To enhance accuracy, we incorporate both the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM), which focuses the model on important image regions through channel and spatial attention, and a dynamic class weighting strategy that reallocates training resources based on validation performance. Our experiments compare the models with and without these enhancements, providing insights into their effectiveness for real-time driver behavior prediction and offering guidance for future practical implementations. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent advancements in additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, have revolutionized the manufacturing industry by enabling the production of complex geometries and rapid prototyping. However, ensuring consistent quality in print parts remains a challenge. In this research, we address the quality monitoring issues in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) by proposing a system that combines computer vision and augmented reality techniques. The system measures geometric accuracy by comparing features of a 3D-printed part, captured using an ordinary camera, with the CAD model of the part that is projected in the same space. In the process, augmented reality is employed for camera calibration, pose estimation, and perspective projection, enabling accurate tracking and visualization of 3D-printed parts. Image processing techniques, including image segmentation and differencing, are applied to compare the virtual and real-world images, allowing the detection of geometric distortion. To evaluate the scalability and effectiveness of the proposed system, experiments were conducted by comparing virtual and real-world images of 3D-printed parts, captured from different camera positions and orientations. The results demonstrate the capability of the proposed solution to perform geometric distortion detection in close-to-real-time, which is an essential building block for in-situ control mechanisms in FFF applications. © 2023 IEEE.

A novel hand gesture classification system is developed for human-machine interaction to solve the pervasive problems of high computational loads, lighting variations, and real-time accuracy. Thus, this work presents the development of a novel hand gestures classification system that utilizes state-of-the-art computer vision techniques to classify the movement detected by a standard camera. It basically comprises three major parts: ResNet, GCN, and SVM, applied for feature extraction and classification of the specific features. During Stage 1, ResNet50 utilizes convolutional layers in extracting intricate features from input images. These features include a range of patterns, edges, textures, and other advanced characteristics that are important in distinguishing between different classes. In Stage 2, we utilize the superpixel values to extract complex relational features by considering the spatial distances between the superpixels using a graph convolutional network. At this third step of the algorithm, the support vector machine generally focuses on finding the best possible decision boundary, commonly referred to as the hyperplane, that will actually do a better job in distinguishing data points of different classes within this multidimensional feature space. The approach would, instead, improve the recognition rate due to changing light and background conditions by making use of several training datasets. Indeed, the proposed methodology promises to improve the results than that of the existing techniques. Future work will be directed to enhance the system's robustness and test its performance in various real-world scenarios. © 2025 IEEE.

Machine learning techniques have emerged as potential tools in the field of extensive research led by the growing interest in predicting the future price of Ethereum. This paper fills a major knowledge gap in the area by reviewing and analysing important literature on Ethereum price forecasting, with a focus on Ethereum and it is applicable on other cryptocurrencies as well. By using machine learning models, such as random forest and linear regression, this study fills the gap by comparing the models’ ability to predict Ethereum prices properly and provides insightful information for researchers and investors. The implications of these results for the analysis of the cryptocurrency market are noteworthy, as they may reduce the risks associated with the erratic cryptocurrency market and open the door for more studies to improve prediction techniques in this ever-changing environment. The study emphasises flexibility and effectiveness in navigating complicated cryptocurrency marketplaces, which advances the understanding of machine learning applications in Ethereum price forecasting. ©2024 IEEE.

Satellite based Navigation systems and Inertial Navigation systems (INS) are conventionally used for Aircraft Navigation. Instrumentation landing systems (ILS) needs equipment on runway as well as on the aircraft. When ILS or alternate navigation systems are not available, vision based system can be used as an alternative to update INS. An algorithm is developed to estimate the Runway Relative Aircraft Position and Orientation during the final phase of landing when runway or pre-stored features/regions are visible. An algorithm is developed to identify three edges on the runway (Two along longitudinal left and right boundaries and the third one horizontal to the landing stripes) and to subsequently estimate the runway relative Position and Orientation using the complete camera perspective projection model. The test results suggest that Position estimates exhibit good accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

A three port DC-DC converter that employs push-pull topology with isolation is presented. The converter transfers power from two DC input sources using a multi-winding transformer to the load. The high gain of the converter is achieved using quasi - switched boost (qSB) network, switched capacitor (SC) topology, multi winding transformer turn's ratio and voltage doubler circuit (VDR). The converter operation, steady state analysis deriving output voltage and comparison with similar topologies are presented. MATLAB/ Simulink results justify the converter operation and analysis. The underlined features of proposed converter are (i) high voltage conversion ratio (ii) galvanic isolation (iii) reduced utilization of semiconductor devices and (iv) capability to combine multiple input sources. © 2024 IEEE.
