To address the consistency issues in the ceramic additive manufacturing process, a solution is proposed involving the use of computer vision to acquire monitoring images of the manufacturing surface. The obtained image data is then input into the YOLOv3 model for training, aiming to detect and eliminate defects during the manufacturing process. To tackle the problem of uneven illumination at different positions on the large-scale manufacturing surface, a method using homomorphic filtering is proposed to remove the illumination components from the images. The parameters of the Gaussian-type homomorphic filter are determined through theoretical analysis and experimental validation. The results demonstrate that after homomorphic filtering, the detection rate for bubble defects increased by 6.7% and the detection rate for pit defects increased by 2.3%. © 2024 SPIE.

In the field of computer vision, deep learning has developed tremendously, large-scale preforming has received increasing attention from experts and researchers. Different training models often have large performance gaps in training speed and accuracy when performing large-scale pre-training. In this case, choosing the appropriate model for large-scale pre-training is particularly important. This experiment uses the same image data set and the same hardware conditions to construct the image classification model respectively in the three mainstream image recognition large-scale pre-training models, vision Transformer (VIT), Swin-Transformer and ConvNeXt, try to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each model by experimental results. It is observed that vision Transformer has the fastest running speed in computer vision classification experiments, but its accuracy is not as good as the other two models, Swin-Transformer has the slowest speed and average accuracy, ConvNeXt has the highest accuracy, but its speed is mediocre. The results of this experiment have some reference significance for future model selection for large-scale pre-training tasks in computer vision, this can decrease training time and improve training accuracy to some extent. © 2023 SPIE.

In this paper, we propose an interactive image segmentation method based on the geodesic voting model. Basically, the segmentation is implemented by thresholding a feature map generated by a geodesic voting strategy. In contrast to the classical geodesic voting method which considers isotropic metric, we exploit state-of-the-art asymmetric quadratic metric for geodesic computation. The main contribution of this work lies at an obstacle-based geodesic computation way, in order to encourage the computed geodesic paths to pass through image features of interest. The use of asymmetric quadratic metric for computing geodesic paths can take advantages from the anisotropy and asymmetry geometric features, thus overcoming the shortcuts problem suffered in the isotropic case. Experiments on real images demonstrate that the proposed method indeed can obtain promising results. © 2023 SPIE.

This paper presents a remote network database system based on image-visual communication technology. Access to remote databases is realized based on network programming core Windows Sockets and client/server mode. SQL ***, the ActiveX Data Object (ADONET) data provider, implements the connection between the server and the database server. The server translates the client's instructions into SQL Server statements and sends the returned results to the database server. ADONET can easily maintain and modify the system, which improves the scalability and interoperability of the system. The system can be used in the enterprise network database system. © 2023 IEEE.

Safety wire status detection is of great significance to aircraft operation safety. To address the problems of low efficiency and leakage in the current manual-led safety wire twisting direction inspection, we propose a machine vision-based safety wire twisting direction detection method for aviation fasteners. Firstly, the Yolov4-MSC objective detection algorithm is proposed for fastener and safety wire region localization. After segmentation of the region localization, we pinpoint the precise location of the fastener by the gradient Hough transform method, the safety wire braiding is detected using the Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSER) with Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS), and the safety wire centerline location is fitted using the Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm. Lastly, the safety wire twisting direction detection is obtained by the position relationship between the safety wire centerline and the fastener. The experimental results show that the proposed safety wire twisting direction method is effective, has high accuracy and robustness, and can achieve fastener and safety wire location and safety wire twisting direction detection in complex aircraft maintenance scenarios. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.

In the quest to enhance biodiversity conservation and support ecological monitoring, the identification of bird species through automatic recognition systems has emerged as a vital tool. This study introduces a novel approach employing the Mobile vision Transformer model, capitalizing on its efficiency in handling complex visual data across a comprehensive dataset encompassing 525 bird species. MobileViT integrates the advantages of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with Transformer technology, surpassing typical deep learning models in terms of feature extraction and contextual comprehension abilities. Incorporating advanced data augmentation methods has bolstered the dataset's variability, ensuring the model's preparedness for a wide spectrum of imaging scenarios. With a direct and impressive outcome, the model achieved a 97.5% accuracy rate in species identification. The adoption of MobileViT promises a scalable and potent solution for bird species recognition within ornithological research, marking a forward leap in employing machine learning for environmental conservation. © 2024 IEEE.

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has become one of the primary means of current earth observation due to its unique technical advantages, such as all-weather, all-time, and extended operating distance. However, most SAR detectors based on deep learning methods use outdated ResNet backbone networks, and the detection model detection accuracy is low. This paper proposes a new network called Dynamic IoU R-CNN (DIoU R-CNN) to transfer the self-supervised learning method moby based on Swin Transformer to the complex downstream task of SAR ship detection. DIoU R-CNN adds the dynamic IoU module to Faster R-CNN and the advanced BalancedL1 loss function, achieves relatively high accuracy SAR ship detection in the SSDD dataset without much increase in the number of parameters and training time. And the Swin Transformer with self-supervised learning performs even better than the supervised learning method in the comparison experiments. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.

The face identification method depends on these technological [Face detection applications using digital pictures. Systems for biometric identification, search, and security all use this application. computer vision combines machine learning and artificial intelligence. Object detection is the most important component of computer vision. Locating the face is the primary step in computer vision to detect the face part in the input image. The Open-Source computer vision Library (OpenCV) is a free and open-source Java library for object detection. One method for object detection is the Haar cascade classifier. This technique makes it simple to convert an object by counting the square photos on an image. This paper presents a file storage and sharing system implemented using IPFS Pinata, *** and Hardhat which offer decentralized, effective, and secure access to digital assets. This system also enables the ability to upload files to the IPFS network for distributed storage and the ability to share them with peers . It also implements a time based access control system using smart contracts to easily control access to the files uploaded. This innovation improves security and facilitates timely exchange of information while also eradicating the necessity of having to manage access. This is due to the versatility of blockchain’s unalterable nature together with IPFS distributed file-sharing system which provides a secure file-sharing method while keeping costs low and helps maintain adaptability. © 2025 IEEE.
