The rising expense of medical services is driving the global health insurance market growth. Despite this, the health insurance industry is facing a huge loss in this sector because of the everyday increasing fraud claims. This paper presents a novel strategy to transform the health insurance industry using blockchain technology, gamification, and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to prevent fraud, expedite the reimbursement process, and reward the patients for their healthy behaviour. By combining all insurance policies onto a single blockchain-based platform, our suggested solution both prevents fraudulent activity like double dipping and facilitates transparent and effective management utilizing the advantages that blockchain provides. Users are encouraged to lead healthy lives by gamifying their experiences and receiving rewards for consistent exercise and wellness-related activities. Furthermore, the platform incorporates IPFS-based health data storage and medical bill integration, guaranteeing safe and unalterable records. Insurers can lower healthcare costs and enhance risk management by modifying premiums in accordance with user health data monitoring and positive behaviour rewards. © 2024 IEEE.

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), an aquatic free-floating plant, is highly invasive and can now be found in most freshwater bodies in the world's subtropical and tropical climates. Because of the potential harm these plants do to the environment and civilization, it is critical to track their seasonality and spatial distribution in order to develop effective prevention techniques at an early stage. With an emphasis on the application of machine learning algorithms and image analysis techniques for weed detection, this study investigates and examines the usage of artificial intelligence (AI) to overcome these difficulties. Sophisticated algorithms such as the Single Shot Detector (SSD) approach are used for real-time object detection, as well as the integration of machine learning techniques such as CART, RF, and SVM, CNN, and KNN helps for object detection. Modern advances in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) have shown promise in addressing issues related to the environmental challenges. This review examines prior studies, innovative methodologies, and case studies to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for future study and application for controlling the growth of water hyacinth. © 2024 IEEE.

In view of the technical bottlenecks of eutectic salt electric superheat detector used in aircraft duct leakage monitoring, such as poor electromagnetic compatibility, low measurement accuracy and slow response time, a linear fiber optical sensor for aircraft duct leakage detection is studied in this paper. The research demonstrates that the sensor is capable of adapting to the operational conditions of pipeline bending assembly, with a temperature sensing accuracy of 0.1m, positioning accuracy of 1m, temperature measurement accuracy within ±3℃, and a working temperature range from 0-180℃. Moreover, it can replace the eutectic salt leak detection sensors to achieve remote distributed measurement. © 2024 SPIE.

information security has attracted more attention, especially civil aviation security. This paper proposes a novel parameter estimation and target localization algorithm, against algebraically-tailed impulsive noise of otherwise unknown statistics in Bistatic MIMO radar. By employing the minimum geometric power criterion (MGP) based objective function in parallel factor (PARAFAC), we deduce the MGP-PARAFAC algorithm which can be utilized for the parallel factor under impulsive noise environments. The MGP-PARAFAC algorithm is applied to parameter estimation in Bistatic MIMO radar under impulsive noise environment. The estimated parameters are automatically paired without the additional pairing method. Simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

To improve the vehicle's handling stability and enhance the steering assist effect of distributed drive electric vehicles, a differential assist steering control strategy is proposed based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to optimize PID control parameters. A dynamic model of steering torque considering the influence of tire force is established, based on the reference steering torque to calculate the required torque. The PSO algorithm with the Integral of Time-weighted Absolute Error (ITAE) is used to optimize the parameters in the PID steering control, and wheel torque allocation is performed by using the objective function constraint. Simulation results show that the differential assistance can meet the driving requirements of drivers at both high and low speeds, and the proposed control strategy is effective. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As the effects of global climate change become more pronounced and the need for sustainable development increases, conventional power systems face unprecedented challenges. As the world's largest carbon emitter, China has proposed a dual carbon target of carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. This not only requires the power system to operate efficiently and safely, but also requires technological innovations for intelligent and automated management. To address this challenge, this study designs and implements an intelligent and cooperative wireless communication management system, which aims to enhance the automation and cooperative management capability of power communication systems. By studying key technologies such as Self-Organizing Network (SON), Quality of Service (QoS) framework and 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) security framework, and combining with IoT technology, the system achieves efficient network management and optimization, enhancing the operational efficiency and security of the power system. As the network traffic increases, the system response time grows progressively. It ranges from 100 ms at 100 packets/sec to 310 ms at 1000 packets/sec, which shows the limitation of the system processing capacity. The system can significantly improve the response speed and scheduling efficiency of the power system, reduce the operation and maintenance cost, and has important practical value in promoting the modernization and intelligent transformation of the power system. © 2024 IEEE.

information systems depend on security mechanisms to detect and respond to cyber-attacks. One of the most frequent attacks is the distributed Denial of Service (DDoS): it impairs the performance of systems and, in the worst case, leads to prolonged periods of downtime that prevent business processes from running normally. To detect this attack, several supervised Machine Learning (ML) algorithms have been developed and companies use them to protect their servers. A key stage in these algorithms is feature pre-processing, in which, input data features are assessed and selected to obtain the best results in the subsequent stages that are required to implement supervised ML algorithms. In this article, an innovative approach for feature selection is proposed: the use of Visibility Graphs (VGs) to select features for supervised machine learning algorithms used to detect distributed DoS attacks. The results show that VG can be quickly implemented and can compete with other methods to select ML features, as they require low computational resources and they offer satisfactory results, at least in our example based on the early detection of distributed DoS. The size of the processed data appears as the main implementation constraint for this novel feature selection method.

A quantum internet is an emerging quantum information technology, possibly becoming a pinnacle of wide-area distributed system allowed under the laws of physics. The current expansion of quantum technologies would lead to innumerable types of quantum systems, composed of various kinds of quantum devices connected by a dedicated quantum network. However, the (inter)connectivity offered by a quantum internet should ideally be agnostic of the technologies used by each component system. Furthermore, concurrent progresses of the quantum technologies complicate the task of defining what a quantum internet is. In this paper, we adopt a backcasting approach to elucidate what a quantum internet should be. We begin by discussing what we believe to be the requirements of an ultimate distributed quantum system, from which we explain what role a quantum internet would play in achieving this ultimate system. We then lead to more practical requirements on a quantum internet, considering the known and expected constraints in designing a quantum internet. We also organize and categorize the relationship among known quantum network technologies and services relevant to a quantum internet. We hope this document to lay a common ground for all the key stakeholders of a quantum internet, including researchers, industrial enterprises, and policy makers and regulators.

The task of style transfer is to transfer the style of the target image to the required image. In recent years, there have been increasing studies on image style transfer. and now it is often used in animation production, software interface beautification, image expansion and the creation of a variety of styles of decorative patterns. As these algorithms are proposed, how to evaluate algorithms will become an important problem, only with evaluation can comparative analysis be carried out and algorithms can continue to develop and progress. The importance of evaluation can not be underestimated. This paper firstly systematically combs and introduces the evaluation method of algorithm from subjective and objective aspects. Subjective methods are divided into two parts: questionnaire and User Study, which mainly rely on people's subjective perception and are easily influenced by subjects. The objective method evaluates the algorithm from a more accurate perspective, mainly including relying on statistics and evaluation indicators. Secondly, this paper introduces the experiments using several evaluation methods and evaluates their effects. Finally, it points out the problems existing in the current evaluation methods to provide the direction for the follow-up research. © 2022 IEEE.

We propose a new parallel algorithm based on a distributed matching algorithm for the network alignment problem which can be used to find similarities in biological networks. This information may be used to form phylogenetic trees and consequently understand the evolution process better. We provide preliminary implementation results in sample networks which provide significant speedups with respect to sequential algorithms. © 2022 IEEE.
