Event-driven microservices use events for inter-service communication. Such an asynchronous communication model preempts distributed monoliths and allows microservices to scale well and evolve autonomously. Typically, a message broker is employed to carry the events across the participating microservices. However, it is impractical for the event-driven microservices to accomplish the distributed transactions using traditional 2-phase commits. Hence, the microservice architecture advises implementing a distributed transaction as a saga of local transactions. Though a saga does not offer the automaticity and consistency of a traditional transaction, it indeed offers eventual consistency. The saga takes the form of either orchestration or choreography depending on the number of microservices that intend to collaborate. Sagas are used across various business domains such as e-commerce, banking, social media, logistics, etc. However, saga-based transactions require careful design of the individual microservices to take care of their interactions and error handling. It is even more tedious to implement Sagas in event-driven microservices because of the asynchronous nature of the interactions. Thus, it is always suggested to use a well-Tested framework for implementing the sagas instead of building them from scratch. This paper surveys some of the available frameworks for saga implementation across three popular platforms namely Java, Python, and NodeJS. This survey finds the need for a vendor-Agnostic abstraction for separating the transaction layer from the business layer. © 2022 IEEE.

Now a day, Internet of Things (IoT) are being used in several areas such as vehicular systems, smart city, healthcare, and supply chain management. Sensor data is stored in the cloud in an IoT system. Therefore, there is always a security concern with this data. There are several techniques for maintaining security, but most of them work in a centralized manner. However, blockchain is an emerging technology that works in a distributed manner and is based on peer-to-peer computing. Security can be enhanced using blockchain in any system. Blockchain technology offers decentralised security and privacy. Sensors used in loT systems are resource constrained. Therefore, implementing blockchain in any loT system creates several research challenges. This paper provides a discussion on such performance issues and research challenges while integrating blockchain with loT. The paper also gives some insights to overcome such issues. © 2022 IEEE.

Binary function embedding models are applicable to various downstream tasks within IoT device software systems and have demonstrated advantages in numerous binary analysis tasks, such as vulnerability (homologous) function search and compilation optimization option identification. However, current binary function embedding methods either learn embedding based on code sequence, which lack the program semantics of functions (e.g., control flow, etc.) or based on program structure graphs, which omit global sequential information. As a result, these methods fall short in enabling models to learn the complete semantic of function. In this paper, we introduce FlowEmbed, a novel approach that synergistically integrates control flow and global semantic learning to facilitate exhaustive code comprehension. Initially, FlowEmbed harnesses a distinct relational control flow graph combined with the power of BERT and RGCN models to aptly capture the nuances of control flow semantics. Moreover, by deploying the DPCNN model on a byte sequence constructed from function machine code, FlowEmbed adeptly discerns the inherent global sequential semantics of binary functions. Through rigorous evaluations spanning three IoT-related tasks, FlowEmbed's efficacy becomes evident, showcasing notable improvements: a 20.6% improvement in compilation optimization option identification, a 1.8% improvement in binary function similarity analysis, and an 11.9% improvement in homologous function search. Collectively, these results underscore FlowEmbed's superior capability, positioning it as a invaluable asset in a binary analysis application. © 2023 IEEE.

Decentralized Cloud Storage (DCS) is considered to be the future for sustainable data storage within Web 3.0, in which we will move from a single cloud service provider to creating an ecosystem where anybody could be a cloud storage provider. Currently, the cloud storage market is highly dominated by centralized players like Amazon S3, Google Cloud, Box, etc. Decentralized projects like Storj, Filecoin, and Sia have seen rising popularity with the advent of Web 3.0 applications. At the same time, any blockchain network is susceptible to large-scale DDoS attacks. This work focuses on the Storj DCS, where we aimed to analyze the robustness of the system under the influence of a coordinated DDoS attack which can be carried out by an adversary or a group of adversaries taking down a set of storage nodes. The novelty of our work lies in threefold: First, we use statistical methods to mathematically model the content distribution as well as the loss of a file or a segment from the system. Our model captures both the cases where we have homogeneous and non-homogeneous nodes. Secondly, we develop a cost-analytic approach to perform a robustness analysis of the Storj system and implement the proposed model in MATLAB. Finally, we calculate the cost of a DDoS attack that the adversary has to incur in order to be successful with the attack. Also, we propose a set of better parametric choices for erasure piece distribution under which the system has proved to be more robust than the parametric values implemented in Storj DCS. © 2023 IEEE.

parallel processing involves challenges on data dependency. In this work, we presented an investigation of performance into image background removal using the Rembg algorithms incorporating parallel computing techniques including Multithreading and Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). In the background subtraction algorithm, each pixel of the image is compared with the pixels around it. Thus, it will be difficult to parallelise the system if the pixel is being accessed at the same time; otherwise, it will lead to data corruption or inconsistent results. CUDA and Multithreading are utilised in 2, 4 and 8 threads on two different hardware specification machines. Results show the proposed work achieves a maximum of 5.3092 and 5.7913 speed up value in CUDA and Multithreading respectively. In a nutshell, dynamic thread allocation and advanced load balancing algorithms that adapt to changing workloads in real-time can ensure that the computational workload is distributed evenly among threads and GPU cores.

Hybrid transaction in blockchain enlarges the application domain of smart contracts by enabling off-chain data access. In support of the hybrid transaction, blockchain oracle is an indispensable middleware responsible for receiving data-request tasks and pushing the result back to chain. Though solutions supporting hybrid transactions do exist, they are less featured or applicable for both contract and application developers. On one hand, the racing-condition among several concurrent hybrid transactions should be manually resolved by contract developers. On the other hand, application developers have to associate each individual task with its parent hybrid transaction in order to obtain the result. In this paper, a novel block-chain oracle platform with a set of simple but unified API for both hybrid and traditional transactions is proposed. Firstly, we design and implement a transactional storage layer and a transaction scheduler for transaction preservation and ordering. Secondly, with the help of an automatic result tracing mechanism, application developers are able to acquire transaction results transparently without awareness of oracles and underlying task execution. Experiments are conducted on one of current prevalent permissioned blockchain platforms, RepChain, and the result shows that all of the system design goals are fulfilled with merely an acceptable loss of performance. © 2022 IEEE.

With the intensive growth of space launch missions and the development and application of new technologies. The demand for multi task parallel and joint application of multiple launch centers is becoming more and more urgent. The requirements for the automation, scalability and reliability of the space launch information system are becoming higher and higher. The original information system running independently based on monolithic architecture is no longer suitable. In order to meet the needs of high-density space launch missions, it is necessary to build an integrated and intelligent space ground information system. This paper reviews and summarizes the development history of the space launch ground information system, analyses the requirements of the space launch mission for the ground information system. The architecture of the ground information system is researched, constructs business services and data services based on cloud computing, microservice and container technology, and designs an integrated space ground information system shared by multiple launch centers. The system is safe, reliable, flexible and scalable and lay a foundation for the construction of ground information system and provide solutions. Radiologists interpret and classify the texture on the liver ultrasound images as normal or abnormal based on the discrepancies in the appearance of the lesion and the echogenicity. In this research, many textural metrics are evaluated from the region inside the lesion as well as from the normal region to automate the manual interpretation carried out by the radiologist. Following that, ten distinct neural networks are trained using these parameters. The initial weights for the neurons in each of these ten neural networks are distinct, and the training samples within the training dataset are distributed randomly. The results from each of these 10 neural networks are integrated in order to raise the classification precision and the confidence level of the system to classify the lesions. The experimental simulation results on liver ultrasound images with focal liver lesions (cyst, hemangioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, metastasis) and on normal liver images shows an improvement in the classification accuracy (93.89%) in comparison to 10 neural networks (2.17–8.33% improvement). Additionally, experimental findings demonstrate that, in comparison to individual classifiers, the proposed system classifies several classes with a high degree of confidence and the confidence level has increased by 12–44%, according to the results. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In this study, we examine a method for optimizing the load on computing resources for websites with low traffic. The main idea of the method is to host websites not on distributed servers (several hundred websites on one independent server), which is the industrial standard for shared hosting, but rather to consolidate servers into a cloud cluster to provide hosting as a cloud service. This approach aims to significantly increase the reliability of the service and optimize the use of computing resources. With this architecture, computing resources can be dynamically allocated and reallocated based on load (number of requests per second). It is evident that DDoS attacks such as HTTP Flood and Brute Force can have an extremely negative impact on the efficiency of the entire cluster and, consequently, the entire hosting company. Unlike traditional shared hosting, where a DDoS attack on a single client website disables only one server (affecting only the websites hosted on that server, a small fraction of all websites managed by the company), the proposed architecture necessitates additional measures to minimize the damage from such attacks. In this work, we propose the use of artificial neural networks and machine learning for HTTP/HTTPS requests filtering. Based on the decisions made by the neural network, IP addresses can be marked as potentially compromised. When there is a significant increase in traffic to the cluster, requests from such IP addresses can be blocked using CAPTCHA challenges, and if the negative impact accumulates, all requests from these IP addresses can be temporarily completely blocked. © 2025 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Software development has nowadays reached a wide adoption due to increasing demands from varying kinds of organizations and it, as a complex domain, adopts increasingly more Agile approaches. This interest is parallel to what the academic literature on Agile poses. However, despite this prevalence, there is a lack of bibliometric research on Agile. Considering this gap, we performed a quantitative bibliometric analysis of Agile publications worldwide using Scrum as the method. We provide a summary of relevant academic studies that emerged in Agile research by focusing on many aspects including bibliometric properties of papers, researchers, affiliations, and thematic contents. After delivering the results based on these aspects, we discussed the results and findings of our study. © 2022 IEEE.
