this paper presents GPL, a fast and accurate optimizer for query processing over knowledge graphs. GPL is novel in three ways. First, GPL proposes a type-centric approach to enhance the accuracy of cardinality estimation prominently, which naturally embeds the correlation of multiple query conditions into the existing type system of knowledge graphs. Second, to predict execution time accurately, GPL constructs a specialized cost model for graph exploration scheme and tunes the coefficients with target hardware platform and graph data. third, GPL further uses a budget-aware strategy for plan enumeration with a greedy heuristic to boost the overall performance (i.e., optimization time and execution time) for various workloads. Evaluations with representative knowledge graphs and query benchmarks show that GPL can select optimal plans for 33 of 39 queries and only incurs less than 5% slowdown on average compared to optimal results. In contrast, the state-of-the-art optimizer and manually tuned results will cause 100% and 36% slowdown, respectively.

Many application domains can benefit from hybrid transaction/analytical processing (HTAP) by executing queries on real-time datasets produced by concurrent transactions. However, with the increasingly speedy transactions and queries thanks to large memory and fast interconnect, commodity HTAP systems have to make a tradeoff between data freshness and performance degradation. Fortunately, we observe that the backups for high availability in modern distributed OLTP systems can be retrofitted to bridge the analytical queries and transactions in HTAP workloads. In this paper, we present VEGITO, a distributed in-memory HTAP system that embraces freshness and performance with the following three techniques: (1) a lightweight gossip-style scheme to apply logs on backups consistently;(2) a block-based design for multi-version columnar backups;(3) a two-phase concurrent updating mechanism for the tree-based index of backups. they collectively make the backup fresh, columnar, and fault-tolerant, even facing millions of concurrent transactions per second. Evaluations show that VEGITO can perform 1.9 million TPC-C NEWORDER transactions and 24 TPC-H-equivalent queries per second simultaneously, which retain the excellent performance of specialized OLTP and OLAP counterparts (e.g., DrTM+H and MonetDB). these results outperform state-of-the-art HTAP systems by several orders of magnitude on transactional performance, while just incurring little performance slowdown (5% over pure OLTP workloads) and still enjoying data freshness for analytical queries (less than 20 ms of maximum delay) in the failure-free case. Further, VEGITO can recover from cascading machine failures by using the columnar backup in less than 60 ms.

Security has become the main issue in the current data transmission, whereas it is considered as a significant goal for vendors and providers of cloud services. Hyper elliptic curve cryptography (HECC) technique is the best cryptography approach, whereas digital signature algorithm (DSA) is also an advanced DSA However, an advanced protocol is assigned with authentication of the key agreement by the parallel Pollard rho (PPρ) algorithm to enhance the security of the cloud environment. Hence, this paper focuses on Hyper HECC along with the technique of DSA signature that has designed together for encryption analysis. HECC technique gets transplanted into the DSA algorithm, which works on the principle of signature-based Hyper Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (HECDSA). In order to improve the security level with less consumption of time, Inter bit exchange and merge (IBEM) pattern is considered for data as permutation and feed using substitution as S-Boxes. this proposed hybrid mechanism of enhanced encryption security scheme as HECDSA with PPp algorithm and key exchange using IBEM pattern by blowfish technique. the cryptographic performance of the data may not allow the intruders as quickly as possible to find the key mechanism that has been sending from the user. thus, the resultant is provided with both Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and owner of the data gain enhanced security. Moreover, the proposed hybrid HECDSA-IBEM is compared with the existing encryption technique for evaluating the performance metrics based on scalability and security. © 2021 ieee.

Maximum likelihood estimation has been widely adopted along with the encoder-decoder framework for video captioning. However, it ignores the structure of sentences and restrains the diversity and distinction of generated captions. To address this issue, we propose a hard contrastive learning (HCL) method for video captioning. Specifically, built on the encoder-decoder framework, we introduce mismatched pairs to learn a reference distribution of video descriptions. the target model on the matched pairs is learned on top the reference model, which improves the distinctiveness of generated captions. In addition, we further boost the distinctiveness of the captions by developing a hard mining technique to select the hardest mismatched pairs within the contrastive learning framework. Finally, the relationships among multiple relevant captions for each video is consider to encourage the diversity of generated captions. the proposed method generates high quality captions which effectively capture the specialties in individual videos. Extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets, i.e., MSVD and MSR-VTT, show that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

A computer system was developed to classify human facial expressions for emotion recognition using a distributed computer architecture within the scope of big data. Computers with normal standards and features were used in the distributed computer architecture. Necessary system software for the distributed computer architecture was established and mutual communication protocols were provided between the computers and databases in the computer network. Visual C# parallel programming was used as the software language on the distributed computer architecture. In the software prepared, face image files were processed and threads were created. the threads created later were processed in the processors of the computers. the threads were run on the processors in the distributed computer system, and facial expressions were classified for emotion recognition. In the distributed computer architecture: the number of image files, the volume of big data and the load of the threads to be processed arc taken into account;and databases and parallel programming were used and the classification of human face images was performed. Emotion analysis methods and facial expression recognition techniques were used in the classification process. the distributed computer system is in low cost and high processing speed. With the distributed computer system architecture, big data analytics has become convenient and feasible.

this communication describes a miniaturized $4\times 4$ Butler Matrix Using distributed capacitors in the Quasi-Arbitrary Phase-Difference Hybrid Coupler. First, A traditional branch-line coupler with any phase difference can be calculated by the impedance and phase of each short side. next, a transmission line can be replaced by a high impedance transmission line and parallel capacitors. To miniaturize the circuit, all distributed capacitances are placed inside the branch coupler. On the basis of the compact branch coupler configuration, the compact Butler matrix needs to eliminate the independent phase shifter and frequency divider. A distributed capacitive branch coupler with arbitrary phase difference is proposed to replace the traditional branch coupler. through the miniaturized design of branch couplers and the elimination of phase shifters and crossover junctions, the design of the butler matrix is 66% smaller than the traditional butler matrix design proceedings.

Recent advances in hardware technologies raise new opportunities for architecting storage systems to exploit emerging NVRAM memory devices, fast remote-memory RDMA networking, and large numbers of processor cores. In this paper, we present Telepathy, a novel data access protocol for a distributed key-value storage system constructed around NVRAM and RDMA. Telepathy supports replicated data storage for fault tolerance and guarantees strong consistency while supporting high-volume concurrent read/write access from multiple client nodes. Our read protocol can perform largely silent consistent reads from any of the replica nodes holding an object, while our write protocol exploits remote atomic and non-volatile buffers to silently perform write contention resolution. Our experiments on an RDMA-enabled cluster using YCSB benchmarks show that Telepathy can achieve microsecond-range reads and writes with small tail latencies, GB-range data access bandwidth with small CPU utilization, and data consistency guarantees. © 2020 ieee.

this paper considers the mechanisms of the applying the subtasks prioritization on workflow performing by a distributed wireless computing system (DWCS) with a resources control mechanism based on the network-centric approach. the ordering by priority of subtasks allows to reveal the critical path and to speed up the execution of the subtasks. In this research, the setting of subtasks priority was performed according to the algorithm Heterogeneous Earliest-Finish-Time (HEFT). the experimental researches of the proposed approach are also presented in this paper. © 2020 ieee.

In the last few years, the number of IoT applications that rely on stream processing has increased significantly. these applications process continuous streams of data with a low delay and provide valuable information. To meet the stringent latency requirements and the need for real-time results that they require, the components of the stream processing pipeline can be deployed directly onto the edge layer to benefit from the resources and capabilities that the swarm of edge devices can provide. In this poster, we outline some ongoing research ideas into deploying stream processing operators onto edge nodes, with the goal of minimizing latency while ensuring that the constraints of the devices and their network capabilities are respected. More precisely, we provide a modeling of the semantics of the operators that considers the interactions between different operators, the parallelism of concurrent operators, as well as the latency and bandwidth usage.
