this paper presents an automated, online approach to anomaly detection in high-content screening assays for pharmaceutical research. Online detection of anomalies is attractive because it offers the possibility of immediate corrective action, early termination, and redesign of assays that may require many hours or days to execute. the proposed approach employs assay-specific image processing within an assay-independent framework for distributed control, machine learning, and anomaly reporting. Specifically, we exploit coarse-grained parallelism to distribute image processing over several computing nodes while efficiently aggregating sufficient statistics across nodes. this architecture also allows us to easily handle geographically-distributed data sources. Our results from two applications, adipocyte quantitation and neurite growth estimation, confirm that this online approach to anomaly detection is feasible, efficient, and accurate.

the routing protocol of structured peer-to-peer overlay networks influences the p2p network performances in route table maintenance, routing hops, and network churning. Current protocols we used usually maintain a 0(logN) route table and O(togN) routing hops. To get better routing speed with less scale routing table, using O(l) node finger to get O(N) route path, a new protocol named CSSP was presented A short routing table was made to record "L" cache nodes, one super node and one successor node. Algorithms for maintaining the route table was presented in this paper, A selection algorithm was presented to select the super node who could cache all of the nodes. And the cache-nodes, super-node and successor-node ensure the high performance of the CSSP. Compared to chord, pastry and etc., the CSSP increases the performance in routing table maintaining, routing hops, fault-tolerance and the amount of churning nodes while some nodes inject and eject the CSSP p2p system. the simulations and analysis shows that the CSSP is an efficient route algorithm, but also some problems waiting for further study.

Due to fundamental physical limitations and power constraints, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in commodity microprocessor architecture to multicore designs. Continued performance now requires the exploitation of concurrency at the algorithm level. In this article, we demonstrate the application of high performance computing techniques in systems biology and present multicore algorithms for the important research problem of protein-interaction network (PIN) analysis. PINs play an important role in understanding the functional and organizational principles of biological processes. Promising computational techniques for key systems biology research problems such as identification of signaling pathways, novel protein function prediction, and the study of disease mechanisms, are based on topological characteristics of the protein interactome. Several complex network models have been proposed to explain the evolution of protein networks, and these models primarily try to reproduce the topological features observed in yeast, the model eukaryote interactome. in this article, we study the structural properties of a high-confidence human interaction network, constructed by assimilating recent experimentally derived interaction data. We identify topological properties common to the yeast and human protein networks. Betweenness is a quantitative measure of centrality of an entity in a complex network, and is based on computing all-pairs shortest paths in the graph. A novel contribution of our work is the analysis of the degree-betweenness centrality correlation in the human PIN. Jeong et al. empirically showed that betweenness is positively correlated withthe essentiality and evolutionary age of a protein. We observe that proteins with high betweenness, but low degree (or connectivity) are abundant in the human PIN.
