A distributed engine control system (DECS) offering flexibility and scalability is envisioned for the next generation of propulsion controls. Perhaps the most touted benefit of a DECS is the potential to reduce the amount of harnessing which connects throughout the engine. Such a system is comprised of several network sections incorporating control nodes or Data Concentrators (DCs). these DCs contain control logic to perform control function computations and are connected to the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) via a high speed data communication bus. the short term distributed engine control configurations will be core-mounted, uncooled data concentrator with high temperature electronics with relatively low speed data communications between smart effectors and the data concentrator;and high temperature electronics, high speed communication bus between the data concentrator and the control law processor master FADEC. this type of configuration is referred to as partially distributed control. In the long term, all smart components will be embedded in their respective locations, and the master FADEC will be in the flight controller in a cooled environment. this is considered a fully distributed control. the DCs are connected to many smart components (sensors, actuators, pumps, etc.) via a communication data bus which has lower bandwidth. Network topology describes the way in which the smart components, DCs, and FADEC are connected to each other. Communication constraints like limited bandwidth, time delays and packet dropouts can limit the performance of a distributed engine control system. the distributed engine control system must be made robust enough to meet these constraints and handle failures in the network. In a basic sense, the loss of one or several nodes should not interrupt the system control. In this paper, we present a brief overview of several network topologies and report the advantages and disadvantages for each topology. A method to quan

Under the UK government's open government data (OGD) initiative, departments have been encouraged to make nonpersonal government held datasets available online under open licenses and in standard formats, enabling the re-use of data to support transparency and accountability, improved public services and innovation and economic growth. this policy covers a wide range of government datasets, from core reference data and regularly collected performance indicators, to one-off research commissioned to support policy making. In arguments for open data, government datasets are commonly treated as if they are pre-existing artifacts waiting to be transferred from their current locations locked away on government hard drives, to public availability on websites and data-portals. However, in practice, many datasets are constructed in the process of being opened: whether as combinations of source material, or as derivative extracts of internal data systems. In this short paper we present a brief case study of one instance of open data release, focusing on a dataset related to the 'Digital Landscape Research' published in 2012 alongside a new Government Digital Strategy. We explore different factors influencing how the data came to be published, and question whether a simple call for 'raw data' best serves the cause of promoting data re-use. Copyright 2013 ACM.

Object replication is an unavoidable phenomenon in distributed systems to address the issues of size, administrative and resources scalability. It also guarantees the availability of system as more users can be accommodated and failures can be tolerated. If the location of object replica is not proper, the problem may arise when it is requested by many entities at once. the response time may also increase due to the network latency although network is considered to be steadfast in the distributed systems but the latency can never be avoided. Efficient replica placement, both client initiated and server initiated, can be ensured using the dynamic replica placement mechanism in conjunction withthe underlying routing protocols that provides the reliability of contents distribution and minimizes the network latency. In this paper, it is discussed that reliability can be assured if we use replica placement algorithm along withthe EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol). the issues of choosing the best path for placing the replica that provides the minimum latency and reliability of contents transmission can be overcome by combining the EIGRP features that includes internetwork delay, bandwidth consumption, reliability of packet transmission and traffic load, with dynamic replica placement algorithm.
