the epiDAMIK workshop serves as a platform for advancing the utilization of data-driven methods in the fields of epidemiology and public health research. these fields have seen relatively limited exploration of data-driven approaches compared to other disciplines. therefore, our primary objective is to foster the growth and recognition of the emerging discipline of data-driven and computational epidemiology, providing a valuable avenue for sharing state-of-the-art research and ongoing projects. the workshop also seeks to showcase results that are not typically presented at major computing conferences, including valuable insights gained from practical experiences. Our target audience encompasses researchers in AI, machine learning, and data science from both academia and industry, who have a keen interest in applying their work to epidemiological and public health contexts. Chronic primary pain patients (CPP) face diagnostic challenges in clinical settings, often co-occurring with major depressive disorder (MDD), and currently lack objective biomarkers for effective identification. this study aims to provide a new auxiliary diagnostic method for the classification and identification of CPP and MDD by combining deep learning algorithms with electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. the PDS6Net network structure proposed in this study efficiently classifies EEG signals of CPP and MDD populations through four steps: temporal-spatial feature extraction, spatial feature generation, temporal pattern recognition, and feature fusion. the PDS6Net network has achieved an accuracy rate of 85% in classifying CPP and MDD populations, demonstrating the potential of this method in auxiliary diagnosis. the PDS6Net network structure proposed in this research offers an effective deep learning approach for the classification and identification of CPP and MDD. this method not only improves diagnostic accuracy but also provides clinicians with a new tool, which is conducive to improving the diagnostic and treatment process for patients with CPP and MDD. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Human Activity Recognition(HAR) is used in many applications, such as surveillance, anti-terrorists, anti-crime securities, medical, life logging, and assistance. Besides its positive effect on well-being, the recognition of human activity has many applications. One of the key research topics in the fields of computer vision and machine learning is the human capacity for activity recognition. Pose estimation and categorization algorithms, which are now available for use on pictures or video input, it is now possible to gather and store information on several elements of human mobility in a free environment. A hierarchical structure is inherent in human activities, which can be categorized into three levels based on the nature of the action. A typical example of a movement happens when one walks, talks, stands, or sits indoors, which are everyday indoor activities. In addition, they may be more focused on activities such as those performed in kitchens or factories. However, A major challenge for activity recognition is the diversity of methods used by individuals. As a technology assistive for eldercare and healthcare, it is expected to be used mainly with the Internet of things (IoT). the paper has demonstrated that it follows a hierarchy of analytical approaches toward the issue in a clearly defined form, and the paper showed numerous strategies that have been a part of various other studies in the field. Even though a notable amount of progress has been observed in this critical area, there is still space for further improvements in the subject topic, particularly when it comes to applying cutting-edge categorization algorithms to a variety of problems. In order to deal with these challenges, Pose estimation and classification algorithms have been used to evaluate data collection and discover human activities accurately. this study also examines the activities performed by the user during Video/Image input. © 2023 IEEE.

E-learning is recently days considered the easy media used to teach materials and courses. the E-learning environment contains a lot of resources and content related to each user profile. those contents are considered private data or information for the user, so it is important to provide a secure environment for the users to keep their privacy safe. E-learning over fog computing takes place very fast, especially with the spread of (IoT) devices. Fog computing is offering a way to avoid latency and reduce the distance between the end users and resources over the cloud. this paper aimed to offer a secure method for the learning resources based on fog computing. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) algorithm is used to secure the data flow of the E-learning system over fog computing by using common and special key encryption in combination with AES. As the user data is encrypted and decrypted with the users’ keys to protect his privacy. the ECC is powerful encryption way and did not effects on the performance of the E-learning environment. At the end of the paper there is a comparison between RSA and ECC usage to illustrate the main difference between the two types of cryptography. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

this paper presents a comprehensive review of emerging technologies in V2X communication and Vehicular Edge computing (VEC) for sustainable Internet of Vehicles (IoV) in the 6G era. the paper employs the PRISMA method to systematically identify, screen, select, synthesize, and report relevant literature. the objective is to identify and discuss key technologies, assess challenges and opportunities, analyze potential impacts on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, and provide recommendations for future research directions. Challenges analysed include both technical and non-technical challenges and oppportunities include both societal benefits as well as industry opportunities. Finally and based on these findings, future research directions are proposed for striving towards sustainable IoV. © 2023 IEEE.

this paper analyzes the application of the YOLO algorithm to automatically recognize hyperbolic reflections on radargrams. A specific shape of hyperbolic reflection on radargrams occurs with objects of circular cross-section that are scanned perpendicular to their axis, such as underground pipes. Requirements for processing a large number of radargrams are increasingly being imposed in practice. therefore, the development of algorithms for the automated finding of hyperbolic reflections on radargrams has been intensified in recent years. Conventional methods take a lot of time and are more susceptible to noise than algorithms based on deep learning. One of such algorithms is also applied in this paper. the model was trained with 2000 synthetic radargrams generated using gprMax software. the basic idea is reflected in the analysis of the successful detection of hyperbolic reflections on real radargrams using a model trained only with synthetic radargrams. Experimental results show a high level of success. © 2024 IEEE.

In the context of 6G, Digital Twin technology has the potential to play a crucial role by offering a sophisticated, dynamic model that mirrors the physical world in real-time. Integrating digital twins into 6G enables precise orchestration and optimization of network resources, meeting the diverse and stringent demands of next-generation applications. Furthermore, digital twins provide a platform for continuous learning and AI-driven analysis. Research on the architecture of Network Digital Twins (NDTs) for 5G/6G is still limited, often focusing on partial implementations rather than comprehensive, full-stack approaches. this paper proposes a high-level architectural framework for 6G NDTs system, structured across three layers: the Physical Twin Layer, Digital Twin Layer, and Application and Service Layer. We discuss the challenges of deploying these systems and the importance of selecting appropriate tools, presenting an experimental case study that demonstrates the impact of different tool choices on system performance. Our findings underscore the need for flexible, scalable solutions to fully realize the benefits of NDTs in 6G networks. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Effective flux residue removal is critical to the quality and reliability of solder joints in advanced packaging. Even a PPM (part per million) level of residue can cause serious adhesion loss between underfill and solder joints, leading to potential reliability issues. With the emergence of 2.5D/3D IC packaging, particularly in high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) systems, the removal of flux residue has become more challenging and time-consuming with the large size of Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) packages. this paper presents a new electro-chemical characterization (ECC) technique developed to monitor the flux residue removal process during advanced packaging fabrication. Compared to conventional lab mass spectroscopy approaches for residue detection, the ECC offers a much faster measuring time of less than one minute, making it suitable as the in-line production defense. Additionally, ECC has the resolution of residue detection down to ppb (part per billion) level so the chemical components in entire flux removal process can be closely monitored, which can provide significant amount of info for optimizing flux cleaning processes. Overall, the ECC proves to be a reliable method for monitoring flux removal process with high sensitivity and fast analysis, ultimately enhancing the yield and reliability of existing and future packaging products. © 2024 IEEE.
