Emergence of Internet of things (IoT) has enabled convergence in various research areas like wearable electronics, wireless networks, sensors, control systems and embedded systems. Important application areas of healthcare and agriculture are largely benefited with IoT. Remote monitoring of water quality parameters is one such area where IoT can be largely deployed. A Long-range communication (LoRa) is a recent addition to IoT which covers large areas under its wireless network and has ultra-low power consumption. In this paper, a LoRa based monitoring system for measuring water quality parameters of a water reservoir in Symbiosis University’s Lavale Campus is implemented. A wireless floating LoRa transmitter is placed in the reservoir to hourly measure water quality parameters like water temperature, turbidity and pH. A study on effect of various configuration parameters of a LoRa device on time on air (ToA) and battery life is also presented.

Event Extraction is one of the important research tasks of Information Extraction in Natural Language Processing. It tries to extract information from a large amount of chaotic data and presents information in a structural form. the existing Chinese event extraction methods have the inaccuracies of Chinese word segmentation, which will directly lead to incorrect identification of Chinese financial entities, affecting the accuracy of event element extraction. this paper takes Chinese financial event extraction as a sequence labeling task. It proposes an event extraction model based on PreTraining Model, Bidirectional Long-Short Term Memory Network, and Conditional Random Field. Additionally, this paper constructs the Chinese financial event dataset FinEE. At the same time, financial events are filtered from public dataset DuEE to construct dataset DuEE_Fin. As the experimental results show that the proposed Chinese financial event extraction model Roberta-BilSTM-CRF has improved accuracy, recall rate, and F1 score compared with existing models on FinEE and DuEE_Fin datasets.

Data migration is simply a process of transforming data from a source database to target database. Companies are moving their database from one database (e.g., RDBMS) to another new one (e.g., NoSQL) because of many reason such as new database can handle more data, that could be fast, scalable etc. there are various tools and methods such as, mongify [1], mongoimport [2], sqoop [3] etc. these are available for database migration from RDBMS to NoSQL databases. NoSQL uses document model, graph model, key-value etc., as compared to RDBMS databases. NoSQL was primarily designed for storing and retrieving a large amount of data. In this paper, we have proposed a database migration model, which can migrate real-time as well as old data in a parallel way. the proposed model is implemented for MySQL (RDBMS) to MongoDB document database in Java. the prototype migrates database instance at a particular time (Snapshot of database) as well as live data in a parallel way. Finally, our experimental evaluation of snapshot and live data migration shows the higher performance as compared to other methods.
