Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a common form of dementia that affects brain regions that control cognition, memory, and language. Globally, more than 55 million people are suffering from dementia. Given these troubling statistics, predicting AD is critical for future medications and treatment. Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a vital stage for patients because from this stage a majority of patients turn into AD patients. Early MCI (EMCI) and Late MCI (LMCI) are vital two stages of MCI. Successful prediction of Cognitive Normal (CN), AD, MCI, EMCI, and LMCI stages is a big challenge. Although there are models for predicting these stages but all models are not near to accurate. One major concern for these lacking is not having sufficient datasets to train the model. Data augmentation can be a solution to create an abundance of MRI data. One major issue regarding Machine Learning (ML) is the black box nature. Due to this limitation, user satisfaction as well as trust in the model’s prediction is missing. Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) is the torchbearer approach and through this, the reason behind every decision can be observed by the user. this paper proposes a comparison between four XAI models named Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM), Grad-CAM++, Score-weighted CAM (Score-CAM), and Faster Score-CAM. For performing the five classes (CN, AD, EMCI, MCI, and LMCI) prediction, EfficientNet models are used because these models have performed well on the augmented dataset. Among EfficientNet models (B0-B7), EfficientNetB7 has performed the best. the testing accuracy and loss are 96.34% and 0.12, respectively. After that, the last layer of the EfficientNetB7 model is passed to the XAI models. Comparing the four XAI models it is observed that Grad-CAM++ and Score-CAM are better performing than others. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In an era defined by rapid technological evolution and global connectivity, the internet has emerged as a pivotal force shaping societies, economies, and individual lives. this article undertakes a comprehensive analysis of internet usage dynamics, seeking to unravel the intricate relationship between the digital age and human capital development. through the application of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) linear regression, we explore how internet usage patterns have evolved over time, spanning from 1989 to 2022. Our analysis encompasses a rich dataset, comprising diverse 110 countries and regions, each characterized by unique sociocultural, economic, and technological contexts. the regression results unveil compelling insights into the interplay between internet adoption and various factors associated with human capital development, including education, skills, cultural attributes, and socio-economic variables. Key findings highlight significant shifts in internet usage dynamics. the early years, from 1989 to 2004, witnessed a gradual increase, marked by negative coefficients, reflecting the challenges and limitations of internet accessibility during this nascent phase of the digital age. the article delves into the critical role of education and skills development in preparing individuals for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. It highlights initiatives that promote digital literacy, coding skills, and a spectrum of competencies crucial for thriving in an increasingly connected world.

this study examines the impact of digital technologies on the economic growth of Central Asian and European countries. With the increasing integration of digital technologies globally, understanding their economic implications is crucial, particularly in diverse regions like Central Asia and *** research employs the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, a robust econometric method suitable for analyzing both short-term and long-term relationships in time series data. this approach utilizes 22 years of data from the World Bank, focusing on variables such as internet usage, sanctioned phone subscriptions, and mobile cellular subscriptions, and their impact on GDP per *** ARDL model's findings reveal a positive correlation between the increase in digital technology usage (specifically internet users and phone subscriptions) and GDP per capita in Central Asian and European countries. A notable increase in GDP per capita is observed with the rise in internet users and sanctioned phone subscriptions, whereas the impact of mobile cellular subscriptions, though positive, is comparatively *** results suggest that enhanced digital connectivity, as evidenced by increased internet usage and phone subscriptions, significantly contributes to economic growth. this underscores the importance of digital inclusion and infrastructure development in driving economic development in diverse geographical *** study highlights the significant role of digital technologies in economic growth, providing empirical evidence that underscores the need for policies and initiatives to promote digital inclusion and infrastructure development in Central Asia and Europe.

Nowadays high data rates optical fiber communication system demanding and consolidating the use of compact and tunable pulse laser sources with narrow temporal Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM). In this work narrow pulsed and compressed laser source that works in c- band region which is suitable window in optical fiber communication system. Compression factor (Fc) is figure of merit of this work which is grantee the performance of compression process. this approach was done after designing inline cascaded Multimode fiber Mazh-Zehnder Interferometers (CMMF-MZIs) pulse compressor. this type of fiber interferometer has cascaded seven MZIs with controlled there Fee Spectral Range (FSR). Tenability of pulsed compressed c- band laser source was done after manipulating the Vernier effect that produced after applying mechanical forces to the cascaded MMF-MZIs that have been investigated after splicing seven multi-mode fibers (50/125) μm with single mode fibers (SMF-28), all these segments of fibers have equally length with 10 cm. In this work 1546.7 nm and 1.32 mW pulsed laser source was propagated with 7 cascaded MMF-MZIs with different free spectral range that varied after applying mechanical forces on seven cross sectional areas of multimode fiber and also on the eighth micro cavity splicing regions between the single and multimode fibers. Two minima compression factors were obtained one is 1.15 when 5g weight was applied on the two splicing regions (7, 8) that related to the forth spliced multimode fiber lead 144 pm blue shift laser central wavelength while 1.11 was obtained with 100g applied at the third 10 cm multimode fiber cross sectional area with 71 pm red shift the central wavelength. Also the central wavelength of the out coming pulsed laser source was located in the range (1546.032-1547.260) nm when the two mechanical weights 5 and 100 g are applied on the two micro- cavity splicing regions (3,4) and (1,3) respectively.

Deep learning (DL), a relatively recent AI technique, has been successfully applied to the problem of automated modulation categorization (AMC), with promising results. An essential part of developing the spectrum-sensing capabilities needed by software-defined radio is carrying out radio signal classification jobs, which we did in this research by introducing a better deep neural architecture. Different detection techniques were utilized in the literature; however, DL neural networks are recently utilized in this field. Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) which is one variation of the RNN network, and other techniques are some of the employed DL architectures in the field of AMC. In this paper, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model has been built to automatically classify ten-modulation formats correctly. the suggested CNN network is constructed mainly of six-Convolutional layers. the overall number of trainable parameters in the proposed network is 1,757,962. thus, the network accuracy, which was achieved during the training reached more than 90%. Python programming packages have been used to implement the suggested approach using *** platform, which provides wide-range of facilities.

Mathematical modeling plays a key role in econometrics as it is a field where statistics and mathematics are used to analyze economic data and develop economic models. this paper presents a numerical study of laminar flow in a suddenly expanding channel using various computational schemes. the Na-vier-Stokes equation was used to numerically solve the laminar flow in the channel. To calculate the Navier-Stokes equation, an explicit scheme of the third order of accuracy QUICK (Quadratic Upstream Interpolation for Con-vective Kinematics) and a second order of accuracy implicit against flow US (Up-wind scheme) schemes were used. For the difference approximation of the initial equa-tions, the finite difference method was applied, and the rela-tionship between velocities and pressure was found using the SIMPLE pro-cedure. the paper presents a two-dimensional geometry of an expansion channel with an expansion ratio of 1:2. Based on this geometry, results were obtained with Reynolds numbers of 100, 400, 600, and 800. Velocity plots at Reynolds numbers of 100 and 400 were compared with experimental re-sults at different sections. Graphs of friction coefficients were obtained for various values of Reynolds numbers. Speed profiles were compared using QUICK and implicit schemes. In addition, longitudinal velocity isolines are present-ed for Reynolds numbers of 100, 400, 600, and 800. It is shown that the re-sults are practically the same for the two presented finite-difference schemes for small Reynolds numbers. At large values of the Reynolds number, the numerical results obtained by the implicit scheme showed better agreement with the experimental results than by the QUICK scheme. And also the pa-per presents the primary and secondary flow vortices as isolines.

this paper presents a new swarm intelligence (SI) technique to solve economic dispatch (ED) problems in power system. As been acknowledge that ED is one of the most complex optimization problem to be performed in the planning and operation of a power system which is to determine the optimal generation scheduling so that the minimum cost can be obtained. In addition, the effect of equality and inequality constraints that embedded in this problem makes ED harder to solve by using conventional techniques. In this paper, a recent SI technique, namely differential search (DS) algorithm is implemented to solve ED problem. DS simulates the Brownian-like random-walk movement used by organisms to migrate. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of DS, two test systems viz. 15-units system and TAIPOWER 40-units system are utilized as test cases and compared to the other technique. instructions give you basic guidelines for preparing papers for conference proceedings.

Foreword MURPHYS-HSFS-2014 was the 7th international Workshop on MUlti-Rate Processes & HYSteresis (MURPHYS) in conjunction with the 2nd international Workshop on Hysteresis and Slow-Fast systems (HSFS). It took place at the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), Berlin, Germany, from April 7 to April 11 in 2014. the international workshop on 'Multi-Rate Processes & Hysteresis' continued a series of biennial conferences (Cork, Ireland, 2002-2008; Pecs, Hungary, 2010; Suceava, Romania, 2012) and the international workshop on 'Hysteresis and Slow-Fast systems' was the follow-up of the HSFS-workshop that had taken place in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany, in 2011. More then 60 scientists from nine European countries and from the USA participated in MURPHYS-HSFS-2014. the program of the workshop featured 49 talks, including 15 main lectures and 15 invited talks. Recent mathematical results for systems with hysteresis operators, multiple scale systems, rate-independent systems, systems with energetic solutions, singularly perturbed systems, and systems with stochastic effects were presented. the considered applications included magnetization dynamics, biological systems, smart materials, networks, ferroelectric and ferroelastic hysteresis, fatigue in materials, market models with hysteresis, biomedical applications, chemical reactions, noise-induced phenomena, partially saturated soils, colloidal films and evaporation of automotive fuel droplets. the design of an ATM traffic and network (ATM-TN) simulator which characterizes cell level network behavior is presented. the simulator incorporates three classes of ATM traffic source models: an aggregate ethernet model, an MPEG model and a World Wide Webb transactions model. Six classes of ATM switch architectures are modeled including output buffered, shared memory buffered and cross bar switch models, and then multistage switches which can be built from these three basic models. the ATM-TN simulator can be used to characterize arbitrary ATM networks with dynamic multimedia traffic loads. Call set up and tear down via ATM signaling is implemented in addition to the various types of cell traffic streams generated by voice, video and data. the simulator is built on a simple, efficient simulation language called SimKit which is capable of supporting both fast sequential and parallel execution. Parallel execution is supported using WarpKit, an optimistically synchronized kernel that is aimed at shared memory multiprocessor platforms such as the Silicon Graphics Powerchallenge and Sun Spare 1000 series machines. the paper outlines general requirements for ATM traffic and network simulation, presents an ATM-TN simulator architecture, describes its major components and discusses the major issues associated with cell level ATM modeling and simulation.

It gives me great pleasure to present the proceedings of the 7th international Seminar on Geometry, Continua and Microstructures (GCM 7). the conference took place on 25–27 September 2006 at Lancaster University and the local organisers were Robin Tucker, Tim Walton, myself and Jonathan Gratus of the Lancaster University Mathematical Physics Group. Modern field theories of mechanically and electrically responsive continua have a wealth of interesting applications in physics. Such theories provide effective macroscopic models of complex systems, such as living tissue and material with dynamical defects, that capture macroscopic consequences of microscopic phenomena. GCM is an interdisciplinary conference series, initiated by the Eringen medallist Gérard A Maugin, that brings together physicists and applied mathematicians who have interests in continuum mechanics and differential geometry and who aim to develop new and powerful methods for analysing the behaviour of complex mechanical systems. the earlier conferences in the series were held in Paris, Madrid, Mannheim, Turin, Sinaia and Belgrade. this volume addresses a variety of topics including the physics of saturated porous media, the relationship between growth in living tissue and molecular transport, the mechanics of polymer bonds, the macroscopic properties of damaged elastomers, the mechanics of carbon nanotubes, the geometry of balance systems in Continuum thermodynamics and wave propagation in the material manifold.
