Early plant disease diagnosis can help farmers avoid spending money on costly crop pesticides and aid them to boost food production. Scientists have put a lot of effort to classify plant diseases, but it is difficult to quickly locate and identify different crop abnormalities due to the high degree of resemblance between the normal and damaged parts of plant leaves. Additionally, the procedure of detecting plant diseases has been made more challenging due to the extensive color, size, shape, and intensity variations in the background and foreground of the plant images. To address the existing difficulties, we have introduced an effective deep learning (DL) based system called Faster-RCNN o recognize and classify various types of plant diseases. the suggested method consists of 3 basic steps. In order to identify the area of interest in investigated samples, we first create annotations for them which are later used for Faster-RCNN training. the Faster-RCNN model employs the VGG-19 network to extract the relevant keypoints from the given images which are later passed to the regressor and classification units to identify and categorize the various crop diseases using the estimated features. We evaluated our method on a widely used standard plant sample repository called the PlantVillage database, and the findings show that our approach is reliable for classifying plant diseases under a variety of image-capturing scenarios. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the ageing population has led to a dramatic increase in the demand for analysis and assessment of the health of older persons in public health services. Due to medical conditions and other reasons, most of the elderly in some urban nursing homes will only detect and analyze their own physiological indicators when they are sick. From the perspective of health management, we should continuously monitor the physiological indicators of each elderly individual, and through the analysis and evaluation of their daily physiological indicators data, and then predict and timely intervene in their health. this can not only effectively improve the health of the elderly, but also effectively reduce the pressure on public health services. In order to allow more elderly people in nursing homes to enjoy effective health monitoring and early warning and timely intervention, we have designed an intelligent health management system based on technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of things, knowledge graph, and deep learning. the system consists of three parts: the Internet of things platform, the intelligent analysis platform, and the SAAS management platform. the IoT platform is mainly responsible for collecting data such as daily physiological indicators, sleep data, air indicators, and service demands of elderly people in nursing homes. the intelligent analysis platform is mainly responsible for analyzing and evaluating the data collected by the IoT platform based on the disease knowledge map and related deep learning frameworks. the SAAS management platform is mainly responsible for background management and health data visualization on the nursing terminal, service terminal, and health monitoring terminal. the system realizes continuous monitoring, analysis, assessment, prediction and early intervention of the health of each elderly person in the nursing home, which effectively improves the health of the elderly and effectively reduces the pressure on public health servic

thanks to the skyscraping development of hardware and software technologies, the data solutions have become an urgent trend to deal with vast amount of data, especially in biomedical research, human genome and healthcare systems. the healthcare research has always demanded close association with biomedical data to produce personalized medicine and deliver suitable cure and treatments. Nevertheless, coping with huge amount of information from biomedical data requires bulky solutions. In the light of data science, the solution for this issue can change from a theoretical approach to a data-driven approach. Database stores a huge amount of information and particular sets of data can be accessed via queries which are written in specific interface language. In order to manage this amount of data, database optimization is implemented to maximize the speed and efficiency with data retrieval or reduce database system response time. Query optimization is one of the major functionalities in database management systems. the purpose of the query optimization is to determine the most efficient and effective way to execute a particular query by considering several query plans. In this article, genetic algorithm (GA) strategy is utilized for biomedical database systems to execute the query plan. Genetic algorithms are extensively using to solve constrained and unconstrained optimization problems. Based on three main types of rules of GA such as selection, crossover and mutation, the querying can be optimized for solving database problem. © 2022 ACM.

the regionalized energy practices profit greatly from the predictive analysis. the estimation of influential independent variables of solar energy production and its consumption is needed to predict for scheduling the energy harvesting. It helps to diagnose energy efficiency and manage electrical and thermal grids. In the current research work, a total of four machine learning (ML) approaches KNN, MLP, M5, and SMV Reg are applied to predict solar panel efficiency. the input data i.e. Time (mins), Temp (oC), Wind speed (km/h), Humidity (%), and Air pressure (mbar) are filtered to exclude the outliers and extreme values using various algorithms. the most sensitive input parameter with respect to the output voltage has been found (Time > Temp > Humidity > Air pressure) by performing data ranking. Wind speed has a minimal effect on the final output value. Among the ML models, the k Nearst Neighbours Algorithm (KNN) produces the best correlation coefficient value (0.9772) with relatively smaller time consumption. © the Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

CPU Performance, Voltage and Temperature are the primary design constraints for the high-performance compute systems today. With increased demands of high compute and processing capabilities, there is a need to measure and optimize system power requirements wherever possible. Modern Operating systems provide efficient resource managers to control the performance of the system, but those are not designed generally keeping thermal aspects in mind. Modern Chipsets come with their own hardware power management, which allows higher device power reduction without the host processor's involvement. Integrating these devices with the host processor provides challenges both in frequency and voltage domains. Main power and thermal concerns come from the host processor as it is larger in size and has higher processing capabilities. Task management for Operating systems running on the host processor becomes important to manage the thermal headroom in an intelligent manner, while several processes are running. this paper focuses on identifying and labelling running processes or jobs, as Cold and Hot jobs. Further, based on labelled Cold and Hot jobs, a hybrid frequency scaling governor policy is introduced for overall platform power reduction. From our experimental results, we have observed that applying the hybrid policy, the Temperature of the cores, reduced instantly from 85°C to 47°C and the power requirements for the Hot Jobs have reduced from 20W to 2W for the workload test duration. We propose to apply Hybrid policy in all situations to (1) Increase overall thermal headroom of all cores (2) Avoiding starving other priority and less thermal intensive processes (3) Reducing the overall platform power instantly upon catering power-intensive process © 2021 IEEE.

Industry 5.0 is emerging and the primary focus is human centricity with experimentation on human and machines collaboration. this study aims to identify critical factors of smart manufacturing systems performance for Industry 5.0. Based on Resource based view framework and Dynamic capability view theory, determinants of cobotics collaboration and work flow integration were recognized that were Human-Cobot relational competence, Industry 5.0 technology competence, and support from top management. Model for smart manufacturing system performance was empirically tested using responses of 302 employees from manufacturing industries in India. the study highlights that Industry 5.0 technology competence and support of top management were positively influencing cobotics collaboration and work flow integration. However Human-Cobot relational competence was found insignificant. the results also showed that cobotic collaboration had positive influence, whereas cobotic work flow integration had no influence on smart manufacturing system performance. the study provides practical implications to manufacturing industries and policy makers for industry 5.0.

Cognitive computing has been posturing itself as the disruptive innovation that advances the supply chain management in e-commerce. this research aims at identifying how cognitive computing system can be incorporated in the supply chain in various areas including demand forecast, inventory replenishment, and customer relations. through the use of analytical capabilities, artificial intelligence (machine learning), and natural language processing, cognitive computing improves decision-making accuracy, eradicates redundancies, and dynamics timely improvements based on market trends. the study illustrates that cognitive computing not only leads to an enhanced structure of e-commerce supply chains but are also more responsive and flexible, thus leading to effective customer satisfaction and company advantage.

the world experiences tremendous barriers in providing food for the population increasing daily. Distinctively, the challenges are caused by climate change, diseases outbreak, drought, desertification, floods, pests and loss of biodiversity. To resolve some of these problems and to make appealing as well as profitable situations in agriculture for those involved in feeding the planet, like the smallholder farmers, innovation in agricultural processes is required. Recently, an emerging technology called blockchain has received a great deal of interest from researchers in many different fields, especially the food and agricultural industries. the existing reviews are relatively general and investigating the current challenges of blockchain technology in the food and agriculture sectors has been missed in the literature. therefore, the present paper aims to present a review on blockchain technology in the food and agriculture domain to examine the issues and challenges of blockchain technology to address how unique features of this technology will revolutionise the food and agricultural sectors. Consequently, the theoretical foundations of various articles published in high ranked scientific journals during 2016 and 2020 are included in this review. this research provides an extensive review of blockchain technology studies and ascertains trends and emerging research areas. © 2021 IEEE.
