Renewable energy systems, particularly photovoltaic (PV) systems, have been played important role in the reducing carbon emissions. A primary concern in the field of photovoltaics (PV) based on the design of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is the capacity to accurately monitor power across many parameters in addition to ascertain the power production of solar cells or wind turbines and adjust the load to maximise power efficiency under varying weather conditions. On another hands, the hybrid smart system uses a wind catcher to reduce the amount of energy consumed by buildings from the grid, which is a historically significant architectural component for cross ventilation and passive cooling. this paper presents an updating of model that proposes improvements to the regulation of Spline MPPT with tuning PID controller by using Levy Invasive Weed optimization (LIWO)technique. A rapid, accurate, and straightforward approach for determining the (MPPT) of PV systems under consistent irradiation and partial shade, as well as wind turbines, is presented using the Spline- MPPT technique. the model of this paper employs LIWO in conjunction with a PID controller to improve the selection of PID gains. Moreover, is applied to generate the optimal values of duty cycle of the model. the comprehensive system design depicted has been simulated using MATLAB Simulink to verify the functionality of the system. the model has attained an accuracy of 93%. the outcomes of this model contribute greatly to our understanding of the suitability and efficacy of both AI and traditional MPPT controllers. this modeling will be beneficial to the renewable energy industry.

Retrospective data harmonization across multiple research cohorts and studies is frequently done to increase statistical power, provide comparison analysis, and create a richer data source for data mining. However, when combining disparate data sources, harmonization projects face data management and analysis challenges. these include differences in the data dictionaries and variable definitions, privacy concerns surrounding health data representing sensitive populations, and lack of properly defined data models. With the availability of mature open-source web-based database technologies, developing a complete software architecture to overcome the challenges associated with the harmonization process can alleviate many roadblocks. By leveraging state-of-the-art software engineering and database principles, we can ensure data quality and enable cross-center online access and collaboration. this paper outlines a complete software architecture developed and customized using the Django web framework, leveraged to harmonize sensitive data collected from three NIH-support birth cohorts. We describe our framework and show how we successfully overcame challenges faced when harmonizing data from these cohorts. We discuss our efforts in data cleaning, data sharing, data transformation, data visualization, and analytics, while reflecting on what we have learned to date from these harmonized datasets.

the disinfectant spraying activity includes a part of efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Spraying is usually done by manual method. this condition results in uneven spraying and it takes a long time. So, automatic disinfectant sprayers is the way to resolve this problem. this study aims to determine the effectiveness of disinfectant spray devices based on drones. the application of automation is obtained from the use of drone technology and testing the spraying in interval time. this research is conducted by using a drone design study method and field testing. the design of the drone as a spray tool is based on the basic assembled X6 tarot framework. the drone that will be used later can lift up to 6 kg as a maximum weight. the design stage begins by conducting a literature study of the type of control use. Control settings are made by calibrating the device to the drone's load to obtain the maximum movement. the use of drones for spraying disinfectant liquid is done by taking off using the flying mode automatically regulated through the Mission Planner software. the results showed that the prototype drone uses a 6-liter tank capacity with a flight time of 6-8. In this case, the use of drones as disinfectant sprayers can facilitate spraying activities and cut down on application time. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the ability to accurately and automatically recognize and count the repetitions of exercises using a single sensor is essential for technology-assisted exercise-based rehabilitation. In this paper, we present a single deep learning architecture to undertake both of these tasks based on multi-channel time-series data. the models are constructed and tested using the INSIGHT-LME [1] exercise dataset which consists of ten local muscular endurance (LME) exercises. For exercise recognition, we achieved an overall F1-score measure of 96% and for repetition counting, we were correct within an error of ±1 repetitions in 88% of the observed exercise sets. To the best of our knowledge, our approach of using the same deep learning model for both tasks using raw time-series sensor data information is novel. © 2021, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

the pyramid attention (PA) network is a new structure developed for digital image processing. this network was designed to extract long-range features at different locations and scales. Recently, PA architecture has been introduced in single image super-Resolution (SISR) to improve the model's ability to benefit from data's self-similarity. However, the effects of location and number of PA on extracting the self-similarity are not explored. In this paper, a Deep Pyramid Attention Network (DPANet) is proposed for SISR based on exploring the PA block. this is performed by studying the effect of varying the number of PA blocks and their locations on the model performance. Moreover, the effect of the residual scale on the PA's performance is studied. Evaluated based on five benchmark datasets, we concluded that using five PA blocks without down-scale residual interchanging with Resblocks in the network achieves significantly better results compared to the state-of-the-art methods. In addition, our model achieves superior visual quality and accuracy. © 2021 IEEE.

the brain state is very important for daily life, especially for mentally exhausting tasks. Researches usually use task difficult as a brain state index, while the performance for detecting the brain state is not satisfying. In order to comprehensively reflect the functional state of the operator, We defined a new operator functional state (OFS) based on the task difficulty degree and behavioral performance. We analyzed the power spectrum of different OFS and examined the classification accuracies under both non-cross-time and cross-time OFS conditions. the average accuracy of non-cross-time with two-class can reach 95.61% and reached to 78.43% for four-class classification. For the cross-time classification, the average accuracy across time of the two-class classification reaches 91.38%, while for the four-class classification it only has an accuracy of 54.22%, which is also higher than the accuracies only using task difficulty as the brain state index. the results showed that the task difficulty and task performance are both important and should comprehensively considered for the OFS index, it will help to understand the brain state in a more accurate way.

the degree of complexity associated with the dynamics of the human heart is different for different categories of cardiac abnormalities. A quantitative measure of the complexities associated with cardiac dynamics can be obtained with a nonlinear study like a Multifractal analysis of the electrocardiogram signals. Here in this work, we have modeled the heart as a nonlinear dynamical system and obtained its phase space structure or embedded attractor reconstructed out of the ECG time series corresponding to four channels. then, studied the multifractal behavior of the embedded attractor in order to quantify the degree of complexities associated with the dynamics of the heart. In particular, we have derived a few parameters out of the multifractal singularity spectrum and used them as a discriminative measure between various kinds of cardiac conditions. We have demonstrated a gradient boosting-based parametric classification model to discriminate between different kinds of arrhythmias and normal sinus rhythms. this work achieves considerably high accuracy in classifying different variants of cardiac disorders when trained with the parameters obtained from the multifractal singularity spectrum associated with the embedded attractor reconstructed out of the ECG time series.

Plagiarism detection is an important tool in modern academia. With growing class sizes and the modernization of the internet, there have been more ways that allow plagiarism to excel in modern culture. Methods such as patchwriting – where an individual may copy, paste and possibly modify the content – and commissioned writing – where an individual hires another person to do the work for them – are not considered by modern plagiarism detectors. this work aims to give instructors a way to identify and detect plagiarism in student writing that addresses these difficult-to-detect issues using artificial intelligence. We introduce a tool to aid instructors in detecting plagiarism that adapts to each students’ individual writing style as they submit writing assignments. this work incorporates artificial intelligence and natural language processing that identifies the ways in which a student writes based on a collection of their essays. the proposed Authorship Verification for Hired Plagiarism Detection (AVHPD) tool includes document storage, a clean user interface, and intuitive break-downs of how a given writing sample differs from prior samples.

Understanding the interaction between wheel and granular media in variable loading conditions is critical for prediction of net traction of wheeled and tracked vehicles in off-road environments. A discrete element method (DEM) is used to predict net and gross traction of a rigid wheel operating in granular subgrade over a broad range of slip conditions, represented by towed, powered, and braked modes. the DEM is routinely used for modeling vehicle performance, but although simulations appear to be realistic, the accuracy of the method is often not fully established. the modeling accuracy, in this study, is assessed by comparison to physical experiments performed over a wide range of slip. the cone index, as a measure of soil strength, is simulated to allow comparison to laboratory test data. Profiles of normal and shear stresses along the contact patch are calculated and correlated with published experimental results. the location of the transition point, at which shear stress transitions from positive to negative values, is determined. In an effort to establish the boundary conditions of the DEM, average displacements, instantaneous velocities of particles, average stress and void ratio in the subgrade are presented demonstrating the greater data resolution provided by the DEM versus physical experiments. Integration of DEM and physical experiments for comprehensive models of vehicle-terrain interaction is discussed. © ISTVS 2021. All rights reserved.

In the last period the alpha-induced luminescence of air was proposed to be utilized for remote detection of alpha emitting from radioactive waste sources or for rapid radon detection. the aim of this study is to investigate the possibility to discriminate between the radioluminescence signal and Cherenkov photons due to the simultaneous presence of alpha and beta sources in the same container. Alpha particles induce radioluminescence when absorbed in air. the photons are emitted in the near ultraviolet region by nitrogen molecules excited by secondary electrons. the accurate knowledge of the radioluminescence yield is of the utmost importance for novel radiation detection applications utilizing this effect. On the other hand, the energetic electrons from the beta spectra can produce Cherenkov radiation in air in the same wavelengths as the photons emitted by deexcitation of nitrogen molecules. When alpha and beta emitting radionuclides are simultaneously present in sample, the detector must be able to discriminate between these contributions. We determine the number of photons produced per unit area (photon flux) by deexcitation of nitrogen molecules and also the number of photons in the same wavelength range produced by beta particles when passing through air. © 2021 RAD Association.
