An Arduino Uno-based real-time energy monitoring system was developed to track and display electrical power usage effectively. the system was designed using an Arduino microcontroller board, current sensors, an LCD display, and smartphone connectivity for remote monitoring. the primary objective was to provide users with instant access to energy consumption data, enabling them to manage and optimize their power usage efficiently. the current sensor measured the electrical load, and the data was processed by the microcontroller, which subsequently displayed the information on the LCD screen and transmitted it to a connected smartphone. the system's performance was tested under varying electrical loads, and consistent, accurate data collection was confirmed. the results demonstrated that real-time updates were displayed clearly, and remote monitoring was reliable, enhancing user convenience. the system's ease of use and affordability make it an accessible tool for residential and small business applications. Key advantages included user-friendly installation, stable power supply integration, and compatibility with common smart home technologies. Future enhancements could involve improving communication modules and expanding functionality for larger-scale energy management. this research highlights the potential for implementing practical, cost-effective energy solutions that contribute to smarter energy use and conservation, supporting sustainable practices and more informed decision-making for energy consumption. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problems that after the operation of power spot market, it is difficult to determine the transmission price of the dedicated transmission projects in accordance with the original method, and that the current transmission pricing mechanism may affect the competitive efficiency of power spot market, the optimization model of twopart transmission price for dedicated transmission projects oriented to power spot market is put forward. Firstly, this paper analyzes the inadaptability of transmission pricing mechanism of China's current inter-regional/provincial dedicated projects, which are mainly based on the function of transmission, in the environment of power spot market, and explains its adverse impacts in terms of fair sharing of the recovery risk of the permitted revenues of the dedicated projects, as well as the promotion of effective competition in the power spot market. then, the impact of the power transmission price for dedicated transmission projects on power spot market is analyzed, and the optimisation model for two-part transmission price based on the one-dimensional search algorithm and the joint economic dispatch model of multi-period energy and reverse is designed and established, so as to determine the critical point of capacity price recovery of permitted revenues from dedicated transmission projects in two-part transmission price. Finally, the validity of the model is verified by case simulation, and the key factors affecting the transmission price structure are analyzed. © 2024 IEEE.

Loop closing operation of distribution network is necessary to realize load transfer without power supply, but it may generate large loop closing current and lead to load transfer failure. In order to minimize the impact of loop closing current on load transfer, a control strategy is proposed to solve the problem of voltage overrun by adjusting the loop closing current, taking into account the change of the electrical quantity in the distribution network after accessing the distributed generator (DG), which will lead to the success of loop closing. By analyzing the generation mechanism and influencing factors of the loop closing current in the loop closing process, the electrical quantities affecting the loop closing current in the loop closing process are quantified, and then the regulation method of the loop closing current is constructed, and the regulation strategy of the loop closing current in distribution networks based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed. Examples show that the method can maximize the win-win situation of loop closing operation and distributed power supply, and effectively improve the security and reliability of the loop closing process. © 2024 IEEE.

Flexible direct current (DC) transmission technology is adopted to offshore wind power transmission system because it is suitable for the scenario with long transmission distance and large transmission capacity. the offshore converter station is an important part of the offshore wind power DC transmission system, which can realize rectification by modular multilevel converter (MMC) or diode rectifier unit (DRU). the power collection system of offshore wind farm can adopt power frequency or medium frequency. So, there are 4 offshore wind power DC transmission schemes. this paper calculates the cost of the whole life cycle of the offshore wind power DC transmission scheme based on MMC or DRU at the power frequency 50Hz and the medium frequency 100Hz, 150Hz and 200Hz, and compares their economic differences. this paper divides the cost of the whole life cycle into the transmission system, the equipment and the operation and maintenance part. As for the specific scenario of offshore wind power, the cost of the three parts accurately is calculated through theoretical calculation, collection of project information and simulation. then the economic differences between the different schemes are compared and the conclusions are drawn. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to effectively solve the problem of mechanical shock in the process of electric power construction, a fast warning system of safe distance in electric power construction based on LiDAR is designed. the hardware part of the system includes multi-line Lidar, wireless RTK positioning device, host computer and early warning device. the multi-line lidar is used to measure the distance data of the electric power construction surface, and the three-dimensional model of the construction scene is quickly constructed. the real-time position data of the moving machinery is collected through the wireless RTK positioning module installed in the near electrical position of the machinery. through wireless transmission of integrated model and near electric point position data, the host computer realizes real-time judgment of safe distance through coordinate transformation, distance calculation, threshold judgment and other links, and the early warning device receives the early warning signal and sends out sound and light early warning. Field tests show that the system can realize rapid modeling of construction environment, cope with diverse construction environments, and when construction machinery is near the power equipment, within the set early warning distance, it can alarm in real time, effectively ensuring the safety of machinery near the power construction. © 2024 IEEE.

Society 5.0 is a visionary project aimed at creating sustainable smart societies, which relies on advanced computer science and software engineering techniques. Hence, software engineering plays a critical role in enabling Society 5.0 by providing the necessary technological advances and practices to address societal issues. this paper presents a systematic mapping study that focuses on identifying the key software engineering technologies and challenges that are critical for achieving the goals of Society 5.0. the study begins with an initial set of 1646 peer-reviewed publications, from which a final set of 29 primary studies was selected through a rigorous selection process. the selected studies were subjected to meticulous data extraction, analysis, and synthesis. the primary studies identified 13 software engineering technologies that act as enablers of Society 5.0. However, the application of these technologies also comes with technical challenges. the selected primary studies identified ten software engineering open challenges that hamper the realisation of Society 5.0. the findings of this study have important implications for software engineering researchers and practitioners involved in developing sustainable smart societies. the identification of the key technologies and challenges in Society 5.0 can help guide future research and development efforts in this field. © 2023 IEEE.

the relentless construction and evolution of hybrid AC/DC power grids contribute to the rapid expansion of the regional transmission grid. the network structure is becoming more and more complex, which make power grids more prone to cascading failures. At the same time, there are individual critical nodes in the grid that have important impacts on the secure operation of hybrid AC\DC power grid. Consequently, this study introduces a methodology aimed at optimizing the grid structure of hybrid AC-DC power grids, leveraging critical node identification and busbar switching. Initially, two performance indices are proposed, each addressing transient stability and multi-infeed short-circuit ratio, to assess the significance of individual buses within the hybrid AC-DC power grid. Following this, a bus-bar splitting-based countermeasure is suggested for optimizing the network structure. Subsequently, a case study conducted on a practical power grid is presented, wherein numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly enhances the security of hybrid AC/DC power grids. © 2024 IEEE.

the secret to increasing crop productivity and sustainability is precision farming. Optimizing fertilizer use is essential in rice cultivation to satisfy the unique nutrient requirements of crops while reducing environmental effect. Conventional techniques focus on general principles, which frequently result in reduced yields, deteriorated soil, and inefficient nutrient usage. the AI-based fertilizer recommendation system RiceFert, created for rice leaf plants, is presented in this work. the system examines crop-specific information, soil characteristics (such as type and nutrient levels), and environmental data (temperature, humidity, and wetness) using a Random Forest (RF) model and deep learning techniques. Data preparation, feature extraction, and model training are all part of the process, which compares classifiers such as Random Forest, SVM, Gradient Boosting, and Naive Bayes. the Random Forest model is superior at recommending fertilizer based on performance criteria like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. this focused strategy reduces excessive or inadequate fertilizer use, increasing rice output and promoting sustainable farming. RiceFert demonstrates the potential of AI in precision agriculture by offering farmers personalized guidance that improves crop output, lowers costs, encourages environmental conservation, and helps farmers make better decisions. © 2024 IEEE.

this research proposes a software feature extraction method based on code fingerprint analysis to meet the challenge of feature extraction efficiency and accuracy in large-scale code base. First, we collected a large number of code fragments from open source code libraries (such as Github and Source Forge), and generated code fingerprints through SHA-256 algorithm. then, convolutional neural network (CNN) is used to extract feature vectors from code fingerprints, and support vector machine (SVM) is used for classification. In the experiment, the accuracy rate of the classifier reached 95%, the recall rate was 92%, and the F1 score was 93%. At the same time, K-means algorithm is used to cluster feature vectors, and the clustering purity is 87%, showing a good classification and clustering effect. the experimental results show that the method proposed in this study has high efficiency and accuracy in dealing with large-scale code bases, and provides strong support for software development, maintenance and security inspection. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
